11 Join our most ambitious campaign ever to protect and improve our glorious paths in England and Wales Taking part is a walk in the park or the hills, the countryside or the woods! Wherever you walk, we d like you to use our handy new app to tell us what you find. It could be a wonky bridge or a locked gate; a flooded path or fallen tree. We ll then try to fix the problems that you find. We ll also celebrate the wonderful things you see - like beautiful views and amazing wildlife. And together we ll keep our paths open for everyone to enjoy. The Big Pathwatch launched on July-13 you can register and download the app here: < to get started. Perhaps start by checking out some of the wonderful walks to be taken during the 1066 Walking Festival! How to take part? On OS Explorer maps of England and Wales, everywhere is divided into 1 km grid squares. To take part, you just need to pick one of these squares and walk every footpath in it. Our app will make picking and walking your square simple and fun. You ll be able to follow yourself on your phone as you walk along the footpaths. As you walk, use the app to highlight any path problems you encounter and the wonderful things you want to share with everyone. You can also upload photos and share your experiences on Facebook and Twitter. You can walk as many squares as you like there ll be a leader board and prizes for the most squares walked (and also for some very tricky squares). You can walk a square and upload your results until 2015-December-31. Which square you pick is up to you. You could romp across the Downs, wander along the beach or picnic in the woods. Spend time with friends, plonk yourself into nature, and all the while protect our glorious paths. Don t have a smartphone? No problem. The Big Pathwatch will enable you to pick a square on our website: < print off a map and survey card, complete it and upload your findings. Pathwatch is supported by Ramblers Holidays Charitable Trust, the charitable trust of Ramblers Worldwide Holidays 20 BMqo>C:\Users\Bev\Dropbox\Battle Ramblers 15\1066 Walking Festival\1066 Walk festival brochure page for Big 21 Pathwatch_ _v2.docx
