4 TECHNICAL COEPTS FLEX WEB A development that Is unique to ECCO, the all-new FLEX WEB outsole showcases an openweave grid with integrated forefoot flex grooves. This lightweight and hard-wearing design works in concert with a Direct-injected PU foam midsole to deliver outstanding flexibility, comfort and support with each step. DIRECT-INJECTION Developed by ECCO over many years, the DIRECT-INJECTION PROCESS is a technology that enables us to create ergonomically advanced soles. By injecting a resilient, shock-absorbent material directly into the shoe mould, we bond the sole to the upper without glue or stitching. The result is a sole that fits naturally, and a light yet cushioned step. BIOM TECHNOLOGY GORE-TEX BIOM NATURAL MOTION technology is based on the natural shape and movement of the foot. This encourages the muscles in the leg to strengthen with every step. Its key elements are reduced seam construction, an anatomical last which is designed to match the curves of your foot for premium comfort, and low-to-the ground flexibility. This creates an embracing glove-like fit that frees you to move with barefoot ease and efficiency. Highly breathable and 100% waterproof, we integrate a GORE-TEX membrane into our uppers before carefully sealing them. Using this technology enables us to create outdoor shoes that keep your feet dry, comfortable and ventilated - even on the wettest journeys. RECEPTOR TECHNOLOGY HYDROMAX The RECEPTOR technology platform is the result of a sequence of innovations connected to heel strike, smooth transition and striding comfort. RECEPTOR is designed to guide your foot to an optimal 20-degree angle of ground contact. It also integrates an Internal Mid-foot Shank to deliver anatomical support, for improved comfort and walking stability as well as Dual Flex Grooves for a more efficient push-off. HYDROMAX is a treatment developed by ECCO to make our leather highly water repellent. It helps preventing the leather from hardening as it dries, keeping the hide supple, durable and breathable even after repeated water contact. For the longest-lasting protection, ECCO leather should be treated with ECCO shoe care products every time after it has been in contact with water. Our latest innovation in RECEPTOR technology, RECEPTOR LITE provides the improved comfort and stability from heel strike to toe off, but is also constructed with a slimmer shank. This has allowed us to create shoes which are more lightweight and flexible, whilst still providing excellent anatomical support and responsiveness. 5 ALL OUR BIOM SHOES ARE BUILT ON THESE FOUR KEY ELEMENTS. BIOM NATURAL MOTION TECHNOLOGY BIOM technology frees you to move efficiently and powerfully, encouraging the feet and lower legs to strengthen with every step. It achieves this by guiding the foot to activate its own natural systems for shock absorption and motion. In 2006, inspired by the barefoot runners of Africa, ECCO started The BIOM Project. BIOM stands for Biomechanical Optimization. The goal of the project was to create a shoe that allows the foot to move naturally. After scans of 2500 athletes feet, and testing by world champion triathletes, combined with findings from biomechanics researchers, BIOM NATURAL MOTION was introduced in 2009 with a series of running shoes. Over the last few years, we have been adapting BIOM technology to the entire Sport range. Each BIOM product has been fine-tuned for the varying requirements of different activities, ensuring that whether you re a walker, hiker, trail runner or golfer, your feet and muscles are being encouraged to move more naturally. Anatomical Last Anatomically correct flex grooves following the biomechanics of your foot allows natural movement, providing better push off and maximum forward movement. Direct-Injection By injecting a resilient, shockabsorbent PU material directly into the shoe mould, we bond the sole to the upper. The result is an ergonomically sole that fits naturally, retains shock absorbency and provides a light, yet cushioned step. Low-To-The-Ground Low-to-the-ground construction allows the foot to react naturally to the ground for improved stability, creating ground feedback and encouraging leg muscles to strengthen with every step. Glove-Like Fit We have designed an anatomical last that matches the natural curves of the foot.
