1 Weekly Update Touchline SIL Football League Melton St Audrys made the trip to Felixstowe United and left pointless and dropped out of the top 3 as a result. Wickham Market leapfrogged Ipswich Valley Rangers to take 2 nd position, with the latter moving down to third, after only picking up a point in their 3-3 draw at Grundisburgh. Stanton remain unbeaten and stay in 5 th, with their point in an 8 goal feast against Crane Sports. Ipswich Exiles picked up their first win in the Senior Division winning 2-1 against Capel Plough. Ipswich Athletic suffered their 5 th consecutive defeat and remain propping up the division without a point to their name and averaging 6 goals being conceded each game. East Bergholt United and Coplestonians both suffered defeats and sit in the bottom 3. Framlingham Town and Ransomes Sports are breathing down their necks as both teams also collected all 3 points on their travels. BT Trimley, leaked 6 at Wenhaston Utd and sit one off the bottom. Biggest win of the day belonged to Mendlesham who put 9 past Cockfield Utd. St Johns who did not play, still await their first goal and points of the season. 30 goals scored this week

3 Division INT A Results Division INT B Results Division INT A Table Division INT B Table INTERMEDIATE A & B DIVISIONS ROUND UP INTERMEDIATE A Crane Sports Reserves dumped Wenhaston Und Reserves to the foot of the table and secured top spot themselves. Old Newton Reserves and Coplestonians Reserves competing for 2 nd place when they met with Old Newton taking the 3 points in their 3-2 win. Ipswich Valley Rangers Reserves, are still without a win after losing at home against Grundisburgh Reserves. Haughley United and East Bergholt United Reserves game was postponed, due to a late referee call off with no replacement available. There remains only one unbeaten team left Crane Sport Reserves INTERMEDIATE B Westerfield United Reserves, matched their 1 st team, by ending the day on top of their division, after disposing Saxmundham Sports Reserves 8-1 and taking their goal scored tally to 24 in their opening 3 games. Felixstowe United Reserves also put 8 past their opponents to be in 2 nd place, 3 points behind with game in hand. One 100% record remains with Stanton Reserves, whilst Westerfield Utd Reserves and Felixstowe Utd Reserves also

4 Division 2 Results Division 3 Results Division 2 Table Division 3 Table DIVISION 2 ROUND UP 7 goals for Claydon maintained their 100% record and keeps them 3 points clear at the top after their win against Bildeston Rangers. Thurston recorded their first win of the season and left BROB firmly rooted at the bottom without a point or goal to their name. Stonham Aspal and Stpwupland Falcons both recorded wins to stay 2 nd and 3 rd respectively. 4 teams, Claydon, Stowupland Falcons, Parkside Utd and Waterside all remain unbeaten, Parkside United and AFC Hoxne was postponed due to the Non Arrival of the referee. DIVISION 3 ROUND UP Aldeburgh Town lost their 100% record after only recording a draw against Great Blakenham, who collected their first point of their campaign. Bartons collected 11 goals and their first points of the season at the expense of Coddenham who have leaked 16 goals in their two games, without scoring any in reply and still seek their first points along with Cedars Park. Elmswell who did not play, keep their unbeaten record and 2 nd place ahead of Bacton United 89 Reserves on goal difference.

5 Division 4 Results Division 5 Results Division 4 Table Division 5 Table DIVISION 4 ROUND UP Goals were in abundance with 33 coming from the 6 games played. St Clements Hospital came away from Stradbroke United with a win in their 8 goal feast and remain a point clear at the top, one ahead from AFC Hoxne Reserves, who beat Felixstowe Harpers 3-1. Ufford Sports, made it 2 out of 2 with a 6-0 home win against Witnesham Wasps Cedars Park Reserves picked up their first points with a win away to Benhall St Mary Reserves. DIVISION 5 ROUND UP 3 100% records remain intact, with Woolverstone Utd, St Johns Reserves and Witnesham Wasps Reserves all winning, and scoring 14 goals between them in the process. Stonham Aspal Reserves without a game and Salvation Army Reserves losing, sit at the bottom, both yet to record a point from their outings. East Bergholt United Reserves keep up the pressure on the top 3 with a win away to Sproughton United. Coddenham Reserves and Kesgrave Reserves still without a win after their 0-0 draw.

6 Division 6 Results Division 6 Table DIVISION 6 ROUND UP Shotley visited Kesgrave Kestrels Reserves, looking to preserve their 100% record and did it in style with a 7-0 win, which condemned their opponents to bottom spot. Elmswell Reserves opened their league campaign with a 3-1 away win at Chantry Grasshoppers. Sproughton Sports Reserves and Bacton United 89 A, saw 10 goals with the home side collecting the points. 33 goals scored in this division 13 for the home sides and 20 for the away teams. ATTENTION SIL v Essex & Suffolk Border League The Joint Management Team comprises Ian Watson (Felixstowe United) Kevin Cunningham (Grundisburgh) In addition Glen Bradlaugh (Coach), Damian Parker (GK Coach) Scott Crane Physio The first match versus Essex & Suffolk Border League will be held at Ipswich Wanderers FC Ground on Wednesday 31 st October The League would like to thank John Campany for his efforts in arranging this match. Lorinda Hall, Secretary will be on holiday from 16 th September for ten day. Please contact Norman, TRD Manager if required on Players, Officials and Supporters are reminded that for Ipswich Valley Rangers matches played at Rock Barracks some form of ID will be required for admission to the sports facility. This is a security requirement of the base.

7 FIXTURES 22 ND September? Of Law Thanks to everyone who responded this week! So many different answers. My answer:- Advice was given by FIFA to referees: If a player, while correctly taking a free kick, intentionally kicks the ball at an opponent in order to play the ball again but neither in a careless nor a reckless manner nor using excessive force, the referee must allow play to continue. However, does this cover a player laying on the ground? YOU have to decide if there is a case for Unsporting Behaviour. and, if so, award an Indirect Free Kick to the defending team BUT.Is a Caution really necessary? Last weeks? Stop Play! Give an Indirect Free Kick against the player who has shouted and YOU SHOULD caution him for Unsporting Behaviour. THIS WEEKS? A Centre Forward challenging for the ball in mid air within the 6 yard box, collides, in your opinion, accidentally, with the goalkeeper and both players falling to the ground. The goalkeeper complains of a shoulder injury, whilst the opposing player appears dazed. You stop play and signal for both physio s to attend and treat the players. Both players respond quickly to treatment and you are ready to restart play. a) What is the restart b) As the players have both received treatment on the field of play, do you restart with only 10 players from each team? (Managers what would you expect the referee to do?)

Some of these are kindly included in the match reports posted online, but not all. If you could advise me of your attendance figures, it would be appreciated (even 1 man and his dog would be good) Officials details of Misconduct in your games again in ALL divisions, just X Yellows and X Reds, if applicable no other details required. Leading Goal Scorers The matches may be replayed at the end of the season if the non-offending team can gain points to win a Championship, to gain promotion or to avoid relegation.
