2 BADMINTON (TEAM EVENT) Venue: Sports Arena Mahkota Cheras Time: 7:00pm. Date: July 2016 (Sunday) Closing Date: 03 July 2017 (Monday) 1. Maximum of 16 teams, on a First-come-First-Serve Basis. 2. Maximum number of players per team 5 players (3M + 1F + 1 Sub), player from each team needs to follow their respective faculties. For example, FES teams, CFS+FCI+ICS teams, FAM+FMHS teams, staff teams or Alumni teams. 3. Knock-out system : Teams will follow a 16 team- single elimination system. (knock out system) Team will be divided through balloting in Department of Student Affairs(DSA) Draw result will be released in DSA board and also in Sport Carnival s Facebook page. 4. Progression / format: Order of play: Male Single, Male Double, and Mixed Double. *The order of play is fixed and cannot be changed. Line-up of players The participating teams shall submit their line-up of players to Honorary Desk at least 15 minutes before the commencement of each tie. All matches will be played on best of 3 sets at 15 points per set for Round of 16 & quarter-finals. Deuce is capped at 20 pts, the team which reaches 20 points first wins. For semi-finals and finals will be played on best of 3 sets at 21 points per set. Deuce is capped at 30 pts, the team which reaches 30 points first wins. 5. All teams must be at the venue 15 minutes before their respective events. 6. In the event a team is late, a 10 minutes grace period will be given. After which the game will be awarded to the opponent. 7. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final. 3 BASKETBALL (3 on 3) Venue: TBA Time: 7:00pm Date: 13, 20, 27 July 2017 (Thursday) Closing Date: 03 July 2016 (Monday) 1. Maximum of 6 teams. (2 teams each from FES, FCI+CFS+ICS, FAM+FMHS) 2. Maximum number of players per team 4 players (3 + 1 reserves) 3. Grouping : Teams will be divided into two (2) groups of three (3) teams in a group. Grouping will be done through balloting in Department of Student Affairs. Top 2 teams of each group will qualify into Semi-Finals. 4. Scoring Every shot inside the arc (3 points line) shall be awarded one (1) point. Every shot behind the arc (3 points line) shall be awarded two (2) points. Every successful free throw shall be awarded one (1) point. 5. Playing Regulation: The regular playing time shall be 10 minutes (1 period). The clock shall be running continuously. However the first team which scores 21 points or more wins the game if happens before the end of regular playing time. If the score is tied at the end of regular playing time, an extra period of time will be played. The defensive team from Start of the Game shall have the first ball possession. There shall be an interval of one (1) minutes before each extra period(s). The extra period shall last two (2) minutes. The first team to achieve three (3) points score difference in the overtime wins the game. If the score still tied at the end of this period, a second overtime will be played and it will be sudden-death (the first team that scores 2 points wins). Possession of the ball will be determined by coin-toss. A team shall lose the game by forfeit if at the schedule starting time the team is not present on the playing court with three (3) players ready to play. The team present wins the game with a 5 points goal difference. Top two (2) teams in each group will qualify to Semi Finals and will play on knock-out basis Champion of group A plays Runner-up of group B and vice-versa. The regular playing time shall be 12 minutes (1 period) for the Semi-finals and Final games. 6. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final. 4 Venue: TBA Time: 7:00pm. UTAR Sports Carnival 2017 BASKETBALL (5 on 5) Date: 13, 20, 27 July 2017 (Thursday) Closing Date: 03 July 2017 (Monday) 1. Maximum of 8 teams. (i.e. 3 from FES, 2 from FCI+CFS+ICS and 3 from FAM+FMHS) 2. Maximum number of players per team 10 players (M) 3. Grouping : Teams will be divided into (2) groups. 4 teams in each group. Grouping will be done through balloting in Department of Student Affairs. Group A Champion will play with Group B 1 st Runner-up and vice versa. 4. Playing Regulation: All the matches shall consist of two (2) periods of ten (10) minutes (Except for Semi-finals and Final match). The clock shall be running continuously. There shall be intervals of play of two (2) minutes between first and second half (10min x 2min x 10min) and before any extra period(s). For the Semi-finals and Final match, games shall consist of four (4) periods of eight (8) minutes. There shall be intervals of play of 1 minute between first and second (first half), between the third and fourth period (second half) and before any extra period(s). There will be a 3 min break between each half - (8min x 1min x 8min x 3min x 8min x 1min x 8min). If the score is tied at the end of regular playing time, the game shall continue with one (1) extra period of five (5) minutes as is necessary to break the tie. The first team to achieve a 5 points score difference will be the winner. If the score still tied at the end of this period, a second overtime will be played and it will be sudden-death (the first team that scores 3 points wins). 5. 5 BOWLING Venue: South City / IOI City Mall Time: 9:30am Date: 23 July 2017 (Sunday) Closing Date: 03 July 2017 (Monday) 1. Maximum 5 teams and maximum 4M + 4F players in each team. 2. Each group can submit a maximum 4 Male & 4 Female players. 3. Each player will bowl 3 games and the scores obtained by each player is for the double and single competition. 4. FES, FCI+CFS+ICS, FAM+FMHS, Staff and Alumni can submit doubles or singles or mix of both for the competition (max 4M + 4F players) to form the team. 5. Warm up one game only. 6. In the event a player is late for more than 10 minutes he/she will be disqualified and not allowed to play. 7. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. 6 FUTSAL Date of Event: 19 & 26 July 2017 (Wednesday) Venue: Sport Challenger, Sg Long Arrival of Players: 6.30pm Closing Date: 03 July 2016 (Monday). Preliminary Round 8 Teams are: For preliminary rounds, teams will be placed in 2 groups (A & B). All teams in the group will play each other in round-robin format (FES- 3,CFS+FCI+ICS-2,FAM+FMHS-2,UTAR STAFF). Each match is made up of two 5-minutes halves. There is a 2-minutes rest in between halves and 5-minutes rest in between matches. A win is 3 points and draw is 1 point each. Walk-over gives the opponent 3 points and 3 goals. In case of a tie in points than it will be decided with goal difference and then goal for. If it is still a tie, it will be decided on who won the match when they played each other if that cannot be decisive then a penalty shoot-out (first three shoots then one on one). If a player received two yellow cards or/and a red card he will have to sit out for the next match. Semi Finals & Final Stage Refer to the fixture chart for all the matches. Winners will continue to the Final Match for 1 st & 2 nd placing. Each match in the semi-finals and final match is made up of two 7-minutes halves. There is a 3-minutes rest in between halves and 5-minutes rest in between matches. If there is a draw after fulltime then a penalty shoot-out (first five shoots then one on one). This futsal tournament will follow the Malaysian FiFa Futsal Rules. This is a friendly inter-campus game so play fair and referee decision is final.

7 NETBALL (3 on 3) Venue: UNITEN, Bangi Time: 8.00am Date: 30 July 2017 (Sunday) Closing Date: 03 July 2016 (Monday) 1. Maximum number of players per team 5 players (3 + 2 reserve players) 2. League System. 3. The playing time shall be 5 minutes per half, 1 minute for change-over at half time. All teams must be at the venue 15mins before their respective events. 4. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final. The official Rules and Regulations of the game are applied.

8 FOOTBALL Date of Event : 30 July 2016 (Sunday) Venue : Padang Bola UNITEN Arrival of Players : 8.00am Closing Date : 03 July 2017 (Monday) 1. All players are to be properly attired for the matches, please have at least two different colored jerseys and bring along your UTAR ID for verification; 2. All teams consist of 11 players and 2 reserves; 3. A team can start the match with the minimum of 9 players; 4. A grace of 10 minutes (max.) for a team to be on the field to start the match if no show the other team will receive a walk-over with 3 points & 3 goals; 5. All teams will play each other in the league (each 3 matches); 6. Each match is made up of two 15 minutes halves and 15minutes between matches 7. There is a 2-minutes rest in between halves; 8. The team with the highest points will be the champion team; 9. In case of a tie in the points received, then the goal difference will be the deciding factor, follow by the goal for. If it is still a tie then penalty shoot-out will decide the winner starting with 5 penalty shoots then the sudden death. 10. The match will be governed by FIFA Rules; 11. Referees decisions are final. The objective of the Sport Carnival Games is to provide a platform for sporting people to meet and make friends so let s play fair and enjoy the games

9 Venue : UTAR KB Block First Floor Time: 9:00am UTAR Sports Carnival 2017 TABLE TENNIS Date : 22 July 2017 (Saturday) Closing Date: 14 July 2017 (Friday) 1. Maximum number of players per team 6 players 2. Progression / format: Order of play: Male Single, Female Single and Mixed Double. Each player is only allowed to participate in one category/ event in each game. 3. All teams must be at the venue 15 minutes before their respective events. 4. In the event a team is late, a 5 minutes grace period will be given. After which the game will be awarded to the opponent. 5. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final. The official Rules and Regulations of the game are applied.

10 TUG OF WAR Venue: KB Level 4 Time: 12:00pm. (Estimated time) Date: TBA Closing Date: 03 July 2016 (Monday) 1. Maximum of 4 teams Team FES, Team CFS+FCI+ICS, Team FAM+FMHS and Team Staff & Alumni. 2. Maximum number of players per team 08 players (M) 3. The match is decided by the best of 3 pulls 4. No boots, spikes and mountain trekking shoes are allowed. Sports, jogging and tennis shoes can be worn or bare feet 5. There will be a 15 minutes break between matches if a team is pulling in two consecutive matches 6. For safety purposes do not tie the rope around you 7. All teams must be at the venue 15 minutes before their respective events. 8. In the event a team is late, a 5 minutes grace period will be given. After which the game will be awarded to the opponent team present. 9. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final. 11 VOLLEYBALL (MIX) Venue: UNITEN, Bangi Time: 8:00am. Date: 30 July 2016 (Sunday) Closing Date: 03 July 2016 (Monday) 1. Maximum 6 teams will be competing. 2. Maximum number of players per team 8players (6M + 2F) 3. Grouping : Teams will be divided into (2) groups of (3) teams in a group. Grouping will be done through balloting in Department of Student Affairs. Top 2 teams of each group will qualify for the next round. If participate team less than 6 teams, round robin/league system will be apply. 4. Progression /Format: - Matches will be played in the best of 3 sets, 25 points per set. (Best of 5 sets for Final) - In the event of two or more teams with similar points, the ranking will be Determined as follows: The number of sets won will be divided by the number of sets lost in all matches within the group. The resulting quotient is decisive the team with the highest quotient ranks higher. In case of further tie, the number of points won will be divided by the number of points lost in all matches played within the group. The team with the highest quotient ranks higher. In case of further tie between two teams the result of the match played between the two teams concerned will be taken into consideration 4. All teams must be at the venue 15 minutes before their respective events. 5. In the event a team is late, a 5 minutes grace period will be given. After which the game will be awarded to the opponent with a 3-0 win. 6. In the spirit of sportsmanship, no appeal will be entertained. The decision of the umpire is final.
