3 HOME TEAM The home team is the team listed first on the draw. i.e. 1 v 2 the home team is team in the 1 position. 4 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY IN A TEAM A player must have played at least one (1) game for a team during the season to qualify as a player during the finals series. BORROWING PLAYERS IN TEAMS Players are permitted to play four matches in a higher age or division. Any player exceeding these requirements automatically becomes a member of the team with which he plays his fifth match. (a) At no time will more than three players be permitted to play in a higher age or division or any one team. (b) A team who plays more than three players in a higher age or division in any one team will be deemed to have forfeited that match. Failure to comply with this requirement shall incur a fine of One Age Group Team Registration Fee. PLAYERS CRITERIA TO BE ALLOWED TO BE BORROWED INTO A TEAM FOR SEMI FINALS Players from lower grades may be permitted to play in higher age grades subject to & and the following: - Players may play for another team of their club other than the team for which they are registered with only in the following circumstances. (a) In the same age group - Any higher division. E.g. A Player from Under 12 Division 4 may be borrowed to play Under 12 Division 1,2 or 3 (b) In the next higher age group In the same or higher division e.g. A player from the Under 12 Division 1 may be borrowed to play Under 13 Division 1 only. A player form Under 12 Division 2 may be borrowed to play Under 13 Division 1 or 2. A player from Under 12 Division 3 may be borrowed to play Under 13 Division 1,2 or 3 (c) Two (2) age groups higher Any division higher, in the same division or next lower division. E.g. A player from under 12 Division 1 may be borrowed to play under 14 Division 1 or 2. A player from Under 12 Division 2 may be borrowed to play under 14 Division 1,2 or 3 M-LEAGUE BORROWING RULES FOR FINALS SERIES Players registered in an ML1/2 squad will automatically be eligible for the ML1 finals series. In order to be eligible for ML2 finals series a player within an ML1/2 squad MUST have been deemed to have played at least 50% of regular season matches for that ML2 team Players registered in an ML3 squad will automatically be eligible for the ML3 finals series. In order to be eligible for ML3 finals series, a lower division player from within the Club, player MUST have been deemed to have played at least 5 games of regular season matches for that ML3 team 4 P a g e

5 FORMAT OF FINALS SERIES The team leading at the end of the competition shall be known as the Premiers. The top Four (4) teams from each division shall play off for 2 places in the Grand Final on a knockout basis. The draw for the finals of the Grand Final Series shall be 1st Qualifying Final 1 versus 2 and Elimination Final 3 versus 4. Winner between 1 versus 2 shall proceed directly to the Grand Final, the loser between 1 versus 2 shall play the winner of 3 versus 4 in the 2nd Qualifying Final. The loser of 3 versus 4 is eliminated. The winner of the 2nd Qualifying Final shall play the winner of the first 1st Qualifying Final in the Grand Final. The winner of the Grand Final shall be known as the Champions. FORMAT OF FINALS SERIES: M-LEAGUE (ALL DIVISIONS) & WOMENS M-LEAGUE: The team leading at the end of the competition shall be known as the Premiers. The finals series of the M-League and Women s M-League competitions will be played under a top 5 finals series as follows: Week 1 Match # 1 1 V BYE Match # 2 2 V 3 Match # 3 4 V 5 Loser Eliminated Week 2 Match # 4 1 V Winner match # 2 Winner to Grand Final, Loser to Week 3 Match # 5 Loser match # 2 V Winner match # 3 Winner to Week 3, Loser Eliminated Week 3 Match # 6 Loser Match 4 V Winner match # 5 Winner to Grand Final, Loser Eliminated Week 3 Grand Final Match # 6 Winner match # 4 V Winner Match # 6 Winner - Champions FORFEIT IN FINALS SERIES Teams who qualify for the finals series at the end of the normal competition, and who forfeit any round of the Grand Final Series automatically disqualify themselves from the Grand Final Series and will play no further part in the Grand Final Series. 5 P a g e

6 EXTRA TIME (b) Up to and including 12 years, 5 minutes each way. All other grades 10 minutes each way. Teams shall toss for ends at the end of the normal period of prior to the extra time being played. (c) If after extra time the match still remains a draw, the match shall be decided by penalties, as per F.I.F.A. Rules. Extra time shall be played in all K.O. fixtures, as above, however no extra time shall be allowed for players injured in a match No extra time shall be allowed for players injured in a match. Extra time may only be added at the discretion of the Referee for time wasting, substitutions and issuing of yellow and red cards. ADDITIONAL YELLOW CARDS Players who participate in finals series shall be afforded one additional caution. Where a player accumulates 6 official cautions, the player will serve a one match suspension. SUPPLY OF MATCH BALLS Rule 218: SUPPLY OF MATCH BALLS The home team shall have two balls available for competition matches in a condition fit for play. The Referee shall decide as to the fitness of the balls. Teams failing to comply are liable to a fine of one All Age Team Registration fee. TEAM UNIFORMS Rule 219: TEAM COLOURS AND PLAYER ATTIRE All players in all matches must appear in proper football uniforms, being numbered shirts or numbered jerseys, shorts and socks all in the Club s approved registered colours, shin pads and regulation footwear. Teams failing to comply are liable to a fine of one All Age Team Registration fee When the official considers that the colours of the two competing teams are similar, the home team must change. For all scheduled competitions the team mentioned first in the draw shall be considered the home team Goal Keepers must wear colours, which distinguish them from other players and Referees. (refer 219.1) ID CARDS In the case of 2 teams from the same club that are in the same division please ensure that the team is properly listed i.e. TIG under 12/1 Orange, The LCC or members of MFA will be conducting random ID checks during semi-finals and all cards will be checked at Grand Finals. 6 P a g e

7 Rule 220: IDENTITY CARDS Players, Coaches and Managers Identity (ID) card shall consist of a physical card with the appropriate Player s, Coaches and or Managers photo displaying the individuals Club Name, Team Name, Date of Birth, Registration Number and Name as applicable All individual photos must be current and must show the head and shoulders only I.D. cards will be checked by the opposing teams Manager prior to the commencement of the match. Should a team or player not be in possession of an I.D. card before the start of play they will be permitted to take the field of play but only on the following basis, (a) At the conclusion of the match the subject player/s must remain on the field at the halfway line whilst the opposing Manager checks the I.D. cards. A fine of one All Age Team Registration fee will apply to the team if this provision is invoked. (b) Should the I.D. cards be not available a forfeit will result. A fine and loss of any points will apply at the direction of the L.C.C. (c) This By-Law (220.4) will only apply for teams Under 9 to Under 16. In all other age groups I.D. cards will be checked by opposing Managers prior to the commencement of play or a forfeit will result Any team whose Manager refuses to produce I.D. cards for checking by the opposing teams Manager prior to the commencement of the match shall forfeit the match and be liable for any expenses incurred together with a fine of one All Age Team Registration fee. TECHNICAL AREAS The technical area is for a maximum of 5 substitute players and a maximum of 3 coaching staff only. Injured players not participating in the game are not permitted in the technical area. Everyone in the technical area must remain seated with the exception of 1 coach who is relaying messages to players during the game. Technical areas should be located on opposite side of spectators where possible and practical. COACHING STAFF The 3 coaches/managers will all be required to wear a lanyard with a relevant ID card showing team and year. Coaching staff are not allowed to leave the technical area for the purposes of walking along the sideline to coach. PENALTY SHOOTOUT In the event of a penalty shoot out 1 x coach can enter the field at the conclusion of extra time to talk with players. This is applicable up to and including under 15 age group teams. All other age group coaches will be required to remain in the technical area. All players at the conclusion of extra time are required to remain on the field of play. 7 P a g e

8 TEAM OFFICIALS Each team must provide a minimum of one (1) person who will act as team official. These persons shall be identified by wearing an orange coloured vest. Once the game has commenced the team official will be positioned on the opposite side of the field to the technical area. GROUND OFFICIALS Ground officials to be supplied by host clubs not home clubs in the case of semi finals and Grand Finals Rule 222: GROUND OFFICIALS Each host club shall provide Ground Officials in accordance with A Ground Official shall be a responsible person over the age of 18 years. This person cannot be a person who is a coach, manager, or player of a team participating in a match. Ground officials shall identify themselves to the referee prior to the commencement of each match Ground Officials must comply with any reasonable request by a referee, representative of the Association or other authorized person Ground Officials shall ensure that no alcohol is consumed whilst any match is in progress (unless within the confines of a licensed building or a designated area) as identified by the club. Failure to comply is liable to a fine In Accordance with Football NSW Directive Rule MATCH CARDS Match cards are to be provided by the hosting Club. Match cards will remain at the host club and need to be lodged at MFA offices as per normal i.e. 5.00pm Monday following the weekend of the matches. Rule 205: MATCH CARDS (TEAM SHEETS) In all competition matches, the team Manager/Coach shall before the start of play, complete the match card with the list of proper (Family/Surname) and registration numbers of the players in their team against the players correct shirt number. Failure to comply with the requirement shall incur a penalty as determined by the LCC The Referees shall put the score on the match card at the conclusion of the match excluding SSG s Match cards must be completed in ballpoint pen (Blue or Black). The name of any player temporarily playing in a higher grade or division together with his/her usual grade and division, shall be recorded on the match card. Failure to comply shall incur a penalty as determined by the LCC No whiteout or correction fluid shall be used on any match card. Any errors are to be single line crossed out and written above the error. The use of whiteout or correction fluid will be considered to be an attempt to alter the match card and shall incur a penalty as determined by the LCC 8 P a g e

9 A player who has been stood down as in 115 & 116 must be recorded on the match card with his proper (Family/Surname) and I.D. number for the matches in which, he or she is suspended in the stood down section. MATCH RESULTS The listed home team are responsible for uploading the scores into Sporting Pulse on the day of the match. BORROWING OVER 35 S INTO ALL AGE MATCHES Players registered in the over 35 competition shall be permitted to be borrowed in accordance with law and Players registered in the over 35 competition shall be restricted to playing in the grades as tabled below: Over 35 Division 1 players can be borrowed an All Age division 1 4 only Over 35 Division 2 players can be borrowed in All Age Division 1 8 only Over 35 Division 3 players can be borrowed in any All Age Division For the 2018 Finals series an All Age registered player (not M-League) is permitted to play as a borrowed player in any over 35 divisions finals match provided they have pre-qualified during the 2018 season - normal borrowing rules apply otherwise. OVER 45 s Teams can only play a maximum of 3 under 45 players but they must be eligible for over 35 s Over 45 teams that borrow players can only borrow players that are already 45 as at 1 st January in that calendar year. For the 2018 Finals series an All Age or O35 registered player (not M-League) is permitted to play as a borrowed player in the O45/1 finals match provided they have pre-qualified during the 2018 season - normal borrowing rules apply otherwise. ALCOHOL Teams are not permitted to take alcohol to grounds for consumption by players and supporters. Clubs that have liquor licenses are permitted to sell liquor providing they follow the conditions of their respective licenses. HOUSEKEEPING: Please ensure the area where your team has vacated from is left clean and tidy. Use the bins provided for all rubbish inclusive of sports tape, drink bottles and other refuse - Do Not Leave It For Others To Pick Up 9 P a g e
