Come share their experience and be inspired by a man who as a pilot, sailor, mercenary, adventurer and a man for all seasons, knows no limitations and believes You can do anything you set your mind to. 5 Sunday March 29 ~ 2:00pm-6:00pm: Membership Open House Our first Open House of 2009! From 2-6 p.m. the Club will be open to the public to learn more about our memberships and all that the club has to offer. Mark your calendar, bring a friend, colleague or neighbor who might be interested in joining the club. Bring an appetizer to share and show our guests what a great place HMBYC is for boat lovers and fun lovers alike! Weather permitting there will be chaperoned sails in the harbor. Please Bernie: membership@hmbyc if you can bring an appetizer. Please volunteer to help on our biannual membership drive day. All hands are welcome to make prospective and new members at ease Saturday April 4 ~ 12:00pm: ON-THE-WATER Seminar at the HMBYC (map). For those who would like to pursue the idea of friendly competition, please join with the Club's most experienced racing skippers on Saturday, April 4, 2009 for an ON-THE-WATER Seminar. There will be no charge for the seminar but donations to the Club building fund are always welcome. Scheduled to skipper are: Mike Day, Charlie Quest, John Powell, Terri Lahey and more to be announced. The seminar will begin at 12:00 noon with the rigging of boats and then out on the water with one experienced racing skipper assigned to each Cal 20 along with 2-3 crew members. The seminar will include information on racing strategy, starting, rounding marks, the finish and how not to hit anything. This will be a great learning experience in a no-stress environment. While this seminar is open to all Club Members, Cal 20 sponsors will have priority for crew reservations. EARLY RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!
