1 Corpus Christi Hooks (36-24, 78-52) at San Antonio Missions (37-23, 75-54) Saturday, August 24, 2013 Wolff Municipal Stadium San Antonio, TX 7:05 p.m. ON THE RECORD: Home Road Series 6-2 Sweeps W 1 Streak 3-2 Last Last 10 FRIDAY FIREWORKS: Erik Castro s bases-loaded single in the 9th inning last night sent Corpus Christi to another dramatic victory over Midland. With the score tied a three, Ryan McCurdy coaxed a lead-off walk from Jeff Urlaub. Ronny Torreyes laid down a sac bunt, prompting the RockHounds to walk Enrique Hernandez intentionally. Leo Heras fell behind in the count 1-2 before fighting back to force the free pass. Castro, who won last Sunday s finale in Arkansas with a single in the 10th, hit a 1-2 pitch up the middle for the 4-3 triumph. Carlos Quevedo, Alex Sogard and Jonas Dufek teamed to keep Midland off the board thru the final 4.1 innings. Mike Foltynewicz bounced back from early command issues in the first to retire 11 of 12 in a row. The Hounds staged an uprising with a three-run fifth. The big blow was a two-out, two-run single from Conner Crumbliss. CC answered in the sixth on Matt Duffy s fourth Double-A home run. Torreyes opened the seventh with a double and later scored via a wild pitch to tie the game.
