Doubles by 3B J.D. Davis and 1B Conrad Gregor opened the fifth and accounted for the only Corpus Christi tally. The Hooks managed a walk and a single in the sixth but left two on base. Outside of those two innings, Midland faced the minimum. Joel Seddon, who entered with a ERA, picked up his first win of the season, tossing 5 2/3 innings of 1-run ball. Seddon bypassed three walks and three strikeouts while managing only one strikeout. Corey Walter was summoned with two away in the sixth and recorded 10 straight outs to end the game. Hooks starter RHP David Paulino struck out seven against one free pass in four innings of work. RHP Juan Santos made his Double- A debut in the fifth and allowed a couple runs. The first on an RBI single by Jaycob Brugman and the second came courtesy of consecutive two-out wild pitches. LHP Chris Cotton entered in the seventh and hurled a pair of scoreless innings.
