7 Luis Amaran Date of Birth: April 7, 1979 Height: 5 9 Weight: 158 lbs Current Residence: Matanzas, Cuba Cycling Strengths: Time Trials, GC Long before the final race of the 2010 season, Luis Amaran knew that he had attained his goal winning the men s individual NRC Championship. After beating three-time Amgen Tour of California Champion Levi Leipheimer in the second stage of the SRAM Tour of the Gila and capturing his first NRC stage race victory at the Joe Martin Stage Race, Luis took the lead in the NRC standings and never looked back. En route to winning the NRC Championship, Luis made more than 10 podium appearances and delivered eight top 10 finishes in all forms of road racing. In time trials at the San Dimas Stage Race and Joe Martin Stage Race, Luis finished in the top 10. He took second in criteriums at the Nature Valley Grand Prix and Wilmington Grand Prix. And he proved a force to be reckoned with in road races throughout the season. Luis made his debut in the North American peloton in 2008 with the predecessor to the Jamis/ Sutter Home squad. Previously, he had raced with the Cuban National Team from 1998 to 2005 then moved to Spain in 2007 where he raced on the pro circuit. 8 Fernando Antogna Date of Birth: December 21, 1976 Height: 5 9 Weight: 165 lbs Hometown: Chivilcoy, Argentina Cycling Strengths: Sprinting, Time Trials In his native Argentina, Fernando Antogna is renowned for his skills on the track. His palmares include four national championship titles three in the individual pursuit and one in the omnium. Internationally, Fernando won silver medals at the Pan American Road and Track Championships in the individual pursuit in 2006, 2008, and 2009 and a bronze medal in In 2010, he captured a bronze medal at the South American Games in the team pursuit. Fernando has achieved outstanding results on the road as well. Riding with the Municipalidad de Chivilcoy, Camaras Colla, and Toledo teams, Fernando is the four-time winner of the Vuelta de Chivilcoy and finished second overall at the Tour de San Luis in In 2009, he won two of the seven stages of the Clasica del Oeste-Doble Bragado in Argentina and finished second overall. In his North American pro debut, Fernando will add even more firepower to Jamis/ Sutter Home s formidable lead-out train. His track experience will be an asset in criteriums and short time trials. 8

9 Alejandro Borrajo Age: 30 Date of Birth: April 25, 1980 Height: 5 6 Weight: 145 lbs Current Residence: Videma, Argentina Cycling Strengths: Sprinting, all-around Among the most talented cyclists in the North American peloton, Alejandro Borrajo is renowned for his powerful sprint yet demonstrates the strength and endurance for climbing. Alejandro delivered Jamis/Sutter Home s first major win of the 2010 season with his victory in the stage two road race at the UCI 2.2 Rutas de America in Uruguay. He went on to win the Redlands Bicycle Classic road race, the Wilmington Grand Prix, and the opening stage of the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic. Although illness kept him off the bike mid-season, Alejandro finished the season with a #10 ranking in the NRC standings. Alejandro started racing on the track near his hometown of Buenos Aires. He turned to professional road racing in 2003 and accumulated impressive results riding for the Panaria-Ceramica and Miche professional cycling teams. In his 2007 debut on the American circuit with Rite Aid, Alejandro proved himself a powerful force, garnering seven victories and 21 podium appearances. Alejandro continues to race with his younger brother Anibal on the Jamis/Sutter Home Team under the leadership of their childhood friend, Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre. 10 Anibal Borrajo Age: 28 Date of Birth: November 16, 1982 Height: 5 8 Weight: 141 lbs Residence: Viedoma, Argentina Cycling Strengths: All-Around Anibal Borrajo got his start in racing on the track near his hometown of Buenos Aires with his older brother Alejandro. He soon switched to road racing and his career took off, with contracts to race for amateur teams in Spain and Italy. After competing in a few late-season races in 2007, Anibal discovered that his talent for lead-outs, sprints, and all-around abilities were well-suited to North American racing was a breakthrough year for Anibal. Even before the official opening of the NRC calendar, Anibal took second in the stage three road race at the UCI 2.2 Rutas de America in Uruguay and finished 5th overall. At the Redlands Bicycle Classic, Anibal was able to pull out a top 10 finish after launching his brother Alejandro for his racewinning sprint. He was on the podium at the Boise Twilight Criterium and in second stage of the Dana Point Grand Prix. And he consistently delivered top 10 results in stages of major NRC and UCI races. 11 Jamey Driscoll Age: 24 DOB: November 11, 1986 Height: 6 1 Weight: 165 lbs Residence: Jericho, VT Cycling Strengths: All-Around, Long Road Races A native of Vermont, Jamie Driscoll got his first taste of racing when he joined his local junior bike club and secured early successes. Bigger victories came in college where he won the USA Cycling 2009 Collegiate Road Nationals, Division 1. Jamie raced with Rock Racing and Cannondale/ Cyclocrossworld.com before joining Jamis/Sutter Home in Last season, he finished first in the Dartmouth L Enfer du Nord Road Race and Criterium and took fourth overall at the Green Mountain Stage Race. Jamie balances professional road racing with his studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Vermont and an impressive record in cyclo-cross. 12 Nick Frey Age: 23 DOB: March 9, 1987 Height: 6 3 Weight: 168 lbs Residence: Fort Collins, CO Cycling Strengths: leadouts, breakaways, time trials Hobbies: Boo Bicycles, skiing, coffee Nick Frey joined Jamis/Sutter Home for the 2010 cycling season with an impressive list of podium wins. A 2009 graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nick was the 2007 Espoir National Time Trial Champion and won the juniors race at the Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic in A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Nick started his competitive cycling career at age 13 when he raced with a local junior team and nearly made the podium in his first Junior National Road Race. Coming from Iowa, every training ride was a time trial, says Nick of the gusty winds and terrain of his home state, which ultimately prepared him to excel in the race of truth. In 2004 and 2005, Nick raced with Hottubes, the top junior squad in the nation. As co-president of the University Cycling Team, Nick led the squad to win the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference overall championship in He made three trips to Europe to race in top junior and espoir events then signed his first pro contract with Time Pro Cycling in Last year, Nick made his first podium appearance at a UCI event with his third place finish at the Univest Grand Prix. 13 Andy Guptill Age: 28 Date of Birth: March 17, 1983 Height: 5 9 Weight: 135 lbs Residence: Hannacroix, NY Cycling Strengths: Climbing, stage races Andy is one of the most promising young cyclists racing in the North American peloton. In stage races and one-day events, Andy demonstrated tremendous endurance and smart riding skills both of which were key to Jamis/Sutter Home s success in The combination yielded outstanding results for Andy on a personal level as well. He finished in the top 10 in USA Cycling s National Road Championships and in the top five at the Roadrunner Classic. Now in his fifth season with the team, Andy has been riding since he was 13. Cycling became a serious pursuit after a local bike store invited him to try a mountain bike race. In 2001, Andy joined the US National Team as a junior for the Mountain Bike World Championships. In 2005 and 2006, he raced with the US National Team at the Tour de Georgia and numerous events in Europe. 14 Guido Palma Age: 24 DOB: January 9, 1987 Residence: Argentina Cycling Strengths: All-rounder Guido Palma has been riding with Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre for most of his cycling career. He rode for two years with the predecessor to the Jamis/Sutter Home squad before making his pro debut with RiteAid Pro Cycling in He won the second stage of the Giro d Jersey and finished in the top 10 at the International Tour de Toona. In 2009, Guido returned to Jamis/Sutter Home where he contributed his all-around skills in major stage races, including the Tour de San Luis in his native Argentina and the grueling Tour of Utah. 15 Eric Schildge Age: 23 DOB: April 29, 1988 Height: 6 1 Weight: 175 lbs Residence: Hanover, NH Cycling Strengths: Sprinting Eric Schildge burst on to the North American peloton in 2007 when he captured the Best American prize and U23 award at the Univest Grand Prix. A native of New Jersey, Eric started riding when he was 15 as an alternative to running. He graduated from Dartmouth where he rode for the college cycling team as well as the Fiordifrutta Cycling Team. Eric made his debut on the pro circuit in 2010 riding with Mountain Khakis fueled by Jittery Joe s. He continued to dominate local events, winning the NJ State Road Race Championship, and rode to top 10 finishes in major NRC races, including the Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic and the Joe Martin Stage Race. Eric is expected to add even more speed to Jamis/Sutter Home s standout criterium squad. When he s not training or racing, Eric works at a New Hampshire bike shop. 16 Jackie Simes Age: 22 DOB: November 5, 1988 Height: 6 1 Weight: 160 lbs Residence: New Tripoli, PA Cycling Strengths: All-rounder, track Jackie Simes IV represents the fourth generation in a cycling dynasty that includes his father, three-time Olympian Jack Simes III; his grandfather, 1936 National Road Champion and US Bicycling Hall of Famer Jackie Simes II; great-grandfather; and cousin. Jackie started cycling at age nine on the Lehigh Valley Velodrome near his hometown of New Tripoli, PA. He is a 13-time National Championship medalist and won the Junior National Team Pursuit Championship in After racing with Team Pennsylvania Lighting, he joined fellow Jamis/Sutter Home teammate Nick Frey on Time Pro Cycling in 2008 and continued with Mountain Khaki in Jackie captured his first major pro victory in 2010, winning a two-man dash to the line at the Capital Cup Criterium in Washington, DC. 17 Tyler Wren Age: 30 Date of Birth: March 4, 1981 Height: 5 11 Weight: 145 lbs. Residence: Salt Lake City, UT Cycling Strengths: All-around Tyler Wren started racing with the predecessor to the Jamis/Sutter Home squad when he turned pro in Season after season, Tyler uses his all-around talents to support his teammates and generate impressive results of his own. In 2010, Tyler was an important contributor to the more than 10 victories and 25 podium appearances in NRC and UCI events that earned Jamis/Sutter Home the #3 ranking in the NRC team standings. At the same time, Tyler enhanced his own impressive palmares with top 10 finishes at the grueling Tour of Utah and the prestigious San Dimas Stage Race. A graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Economics, Tyler switched from cross-country track to cycling after developing leg injuries and went on to become Collegiate National Road Champion in 2001 and captain of Princeton s varsity cycling team. 18 Tom Zirbel Age: 32 Date of Birth: October 30, 1978 Height: 6 5 Weight: 194 lbs Residence: Boulder, CO Cycling Strengths: Time Tirals Tom Zirbel loves to race and his passion is evident in the results. NRC Champion in 2009, top 10 overall finishes in all of the major US stage races, and numerous victories and podium placements. But what Tom is really known for is time trials, cycling s notorious race of truth. In 2009, he was second in the USPRO Time Trial Championships in 2009 and fourth in the World Time Trial Championships. In 2010, at a local race in Austin, TX, Tom broke the record time set by time trial legend and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.
