Only those competitors entered in the ARC Field must run MRF Signage. 1

Bates Haowen Chu A. Penny Article 16 Running of the Rally a) Rally Start The Event will start from the junction of Sturt and Camp Streets. Crews and their vehicles must enter the Assembly Area in Camp St from Mair St, as shown on the Ballarat Locality Map, Rally Guide Appendix V, and report there within a 5 minute window between 0830 and 0845 Saturday 3 March indicated on the Official Start List. Crews are asked to remain in the area until their start time. 2

3 A reminder that within the staging area at the ceremonial start tyre marking/checking will be carried out for ARC crews. Crews are reminded that a team representative must be present to provide a tyre declaration form filled out fully and signed. b) Short cutting Competitors are reminded of NRC SSR 2.1a) where any deviation from the course described in the Route Instructions, that is reported by an official, may result in a penalty up to exclusion. In order to prevent damage to road shoulders, orange plastic cone/bollard held in place by a substantial solid concrete block at the base (an example shown below) may be placed around the course to assist in delineating the course to be followed. They may not be described in the Route Instructions, but if they are, it will be as the term Bollard. They may also be erected after recce. 3

4 8. Addition: Article 27 Roadbook A different FIA format road book is being employed on this event (the same as in 2017). The key differences to the National Rally Code and what competitors may be used to include: An instruction commencing the liaison is included at the same distance as the Stop point instruction Tulips do not change from full (solid) to dashed going off bitumen, but the narrow column between Direction and Information columns changes from black to white. Kilometres show a comma, not a decimal point. Roads in tulips not to be exited terminate with a T. Tulip symbols are different for: House and Dip, and new for: Roundabout, Dam, Tree, Traffic Lights, Toilets, Spectators, Car wash and Virtual Chicane start and end. 8 Attachment 3 Reconnaissance Recommendations For ARC to get to the start of SS2/6, follow the route chart in Appendix IV of the Rally Guide from Ballarat to Blakeville. SS1/5 to SS4/8 While it is possible to recce each of these stages twice before moving to the next, it is recommended that they are done consecutively in two loops. To get from end of SS 4/8 back to start of SS 1/6 follow road section after end of SS 4/8 and TL at tulip 32, up to start of SS 1/6. To get from end of SS4/8 to SS 9/13 follow road section after end of SS 4/8 and TL at tulip 41 and pick up from Tulip 6, page 55 on TC 8D/12C to TC 9/13. For ARC to get from end of SS1/6 to SS 9/13, follow the route chart in Appendix IV of the Rally Guide from Blakeville to Ballarat, looking to pick up Tulip 40 or 41 on TC 4/8 to 4A/8A and pick up from Tulip 6, page 55 on TC 8D/12C to TC 9/13. SS 9/13to SS 11/15 While it is possible to recce each of these stages twice before moving to the next, it is recommended that they are done consecutively in two loops.
