1 BA ey Bus oue Communiy eeing 3 June 2011 BA ey Bus oue Improvemen rogram he BA is commied o improving your bus riding experience. ver he nex wo years, he BA will plan and implemen a series of enhancemens o 15 bus roues, chosen for heir high ridership and frequency of service. his projec, known as he ey Bus oue Improvemen rogram, will help reduce rip imes; improve accessibiliy; enhance cusomer comfor, convenience and safey; and make he roues more reliable and coseffecive. ilizing $10 million in gran funding hrough he American ecovery and einvesmen Ac (AA) he BA now has he opporuniy o implemen he ey Bus oue Improvemen rogram. his one-ime opporuniy o improve service qualiy will be accomplished by implemening a combinaion of he following: bus sop locaion improvemens, bus sop ameniies shelers, benches, rash recepacles and signage, curb exensions, and accessibiliy enhancemens, in addiion o raffic signal upgrades. orking wih local municipaliies, all ey Bus oue improvemens will be developed wih he help of public inpu. he public process for oues 23 and 39 has recenly been compleed, while an ongoing process for he oue 28 is being coordinaed wih ass s oxbury orcheser aapan ransi eeds udy. he remaining 12 roues will be improved over he nex wo years hrough a phased implemenaion approach, wih a series of communiy workshops ha began January lanning for oues 1, 57 and 66 is complee and preliminary design is nearing compleion. Iniial communiy meeings were held in January/February 2011 o presen preliminary recommendaions.
