2 INVITATION Dear Team Leaders and Coaches, The Algarve Boxing Association, in partnership with Portimão City Council and Escola de Boxe de Portimão, are pleased to invite all interested teams or boxing clubs to participate in the 3rd edition of the ALGARVE PORTIMÃO BOX CUP, which will take place at the Gimnodesportivo Pavilion of Portimão, from march 29 till 31, We hope you will join us in this event, because we believe that you will love the city host - Portimão - which is the 2019 European City of Sport, as well as the event and all our effort to make it memorable. The ALGARVE PORTIMÃO BOX CUP (APBC) has the following format: Main Event (Event A) - 8 teams consisting of 6 male boxers (56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg) and 2 female boxers (60kg and 69kg); Secondary event (Event B) - designed for Junior, Youth and Senior, Men and Women in all Open Boxing weight categories. In order to promote boxing and raise the level of competition, in the main event the team that has the highest number of wins will be the winning team of the Tournament and will receive a Prize Money, in the form of a "giant" check, worth 5,000 euros. The secondary event will offer all athletes the opportunity to compete in the Algarve at an international level that we will guarantee to be a positive and enriching experience. So, we want to welcome in Portimão, all national and foreign teams or clubs who wish to participate in this outstanding event. Boxing Family, let s all join to make APBC our next goal. A whole team must have 8 boxers (six male and 2 female), 1 to 3 coaches and 1 referee/judge - Entries that do not have all the members will not be accepted. The record of the boxer must include all combat sport s bouts, including outside boxing.

5 GENERAL RULES & INFO The competition will last three days and two rings will be used simultaneously. Event B will be held in the afternoon before the main event (Event A). ACCREDITATION [MANDATORY DOCUMENTS] At the document check point and before the Medical Examination: - Boxers must proof their identity (Id card or passsaport) and present an up-to-date Boxer s AIBA Competition Record Book; - Every Woman Boxer aged 18 (eighteen) or older must sign a Declaration of Non- Pregnancy, certifying that she is not pregnant at that time; - Every Girl Boxer aged under 18 (eighteen) must provide a Declaration of Non- Pregnancy signed by herself and at least one of her parents/legal guardians certifying that she is not pregnant at that time. MEDICAL EXAMINATION - Medical Examination schedule may be anticipated, due to the number of registrations; - Boxers and R&J must present Competition Record Book with an annual Medical Certificate, signed and stamped by a Doctor; - Boxers must be examined by a Doctor before being weighed-in and considered fit to compete. - R&J must be examined by a Doctor before the competition starts. WEIGH-IN - All entered Boxers must attend the General Weigh-In in the morning of the first competition day; - At the Daily Weigh-In, only the maximum weight limit will be controlled, not the minimum weight limit; - LOC will provide Electronic scales for official weight-in and test scales. DRAW - Boxers will be drawn according to age classification and weight categories; - Competition diagrams are composed by groups of 8 boxers; - The eliminatory system will be used. At the first defeat the boxer is eliminated from the competition; the boxer who wins all the bouts will be declared the winner of his category.

16 INSURANCE All participants must have their own travel and medical insurance. LOC accepts no responsibility for probable injuries caused during the competition, stay or travel. VISA LOC will notified the embassies, consulates and Foreign and Migration Portuguese Services about Algarve-Portimão Box Cup. To easily check which countries require a visa for Portugal and which do not, please visit the following web site, where you will find all the necessary information about visas: Itemid=14&lang=en if you need VISA contact us via FLAG AND NATIONAL ANTHEM Each participating country must bring 2 (two) flags, size 90 x 130 cm and a pen with their national anthem. The flag and pen are handed in at registration and will be returned to each participant after the competition.

17 TECHNICAL RULES DURATION AND NUMBER OF ROUNDS - In all AOB Elite Men and Women and Youth Boys and Girls Competitions, the Bouts must consist of three (3) rounds of three (3) minutes each. - In all AOB Junior Boys and Girls Competitions, the Bouts must consist of three (3) rounds of two (2) minutes each. - The rest time between rounds is one (1) minute. COMPETITION EQUIPMENT - LOC will provide gloves and headguards licensed and approved by the Supervisor. GLOVES - Boxers must wear red or blue gloves, as per the respective Boxer s corner. - Boxers must put on their gloves before entering the ring. - Gloves must be taken off immediately after the Bout is over and before the decision is announced. HEADGUARDS - In Elite Men (Event A), Seniors Male and Sub 21 (Event B) competitions, headguards are not allowed. - In all other Competitions, boxers must wear a red or blue headguard, as per the respective Boxer s corner. - Boxers must put on their headguards only after entering the ring. - Headguards must be taken off immediately after the Bout is over and before the decision is announced. Hair net or any other item worn to control the hair can be kept. BANDAGES AND PROFESSIONAL HANDWRAPS Use of Amateur Bandages - The bandages of each Boxer must be checked and marked. - Bandages must not be longer than 4.5m (14.76 feet), and not shorter than 2.5m (8.2 feet). Bandages must be 5.7cm (2 ¼ inches) wide. - Bandages must be made of stretchy cotton material with a Velcro closure.

18 Use of Professional Handwraps - Elite Men s Competition may use professional handwraps. - The wrapping for each hand must be made of: o o Gauze: to cover the hand use a maximum fifteen (15) metres length and five (5) centimetres width. To cover the knuckles use an additional five (5) metres length and ten (10) centimetres width; Surgeon s Tape: a maximum five (5) metres length and two point fifty (2.50) centimetres width. An additional surgeon s tape of maximum five (5) millimetres width may be applied between the fingers. - The knuckles of boxer s hand can t be covered by surgeon's tape. SCORING SYSTEM The AIBA Scoring System will be used in all Bouts. The Scoring System will be based on a Ten Point Must-System. AWARDS LOC will provide: - A Participation Diploma to all boxers; - Award s for Boxers who have been classified in three places in their category; - Giant check in the amount of euros for the winning team of Event A; - Award s to all participating R&J. TECHNICAL AND SPORTS SUPERVISION Algarve-Portimão Box Cup supervision is the responsibility of the Algarve Boxing Association and will obey the rules of AIBA OPEN BOXING;
