3 WORD OF INTRODUCTION Welcome to Foix 2010! After having organized ICF World Ranking Canoe Slalom Race in June 2009, we are delighted to take up the great challenge of organizing the 2010 ICF Canoe Slalom Junior World Championship! This international event will take place from July 7th to July 11th, 2010 on the Ariege river, on the natural water course of the Rebech, in Foix. Both the work done by the city of Foix and the strong involvement of the local canoeing community and the economic network demonstrate a shared will to welcome foreign delegations and to develop the discipline on the French territory. Our main goal for this top-level event is to serve the teams, to entertain the spectators and make of the 2010 Canoe Slalom Junior World Championship in Foix everlasting memories! 3

6 YOU NEED VISAS? France is member-state of the European Union. The French embassy in your country will provide you with all detailed information about visas. You will find details on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France ( Please inform in advance but no later than Friday, May 28th the Organizing Committee together with the Visa Information Form whether your team needs Entry Visa to France. Download the Visa Invitation Form and the Application for Schengen Visa on the official website of the World Cup: For any further information: PRELIMINARY ENTRIES Preliminary entries must be processed by sending the FOIX 2010 PRELIMINARY ENTRIES FORM which can be find page 12 of this document. Preliminary entries deadline: Friday, April 30 th, 2010 NUMERICAL ENTRIES / NOMINAL ENTRIES Numerical and nominal entries must be processed through the ICF online entries service system: Numerical entries deadline: Friday, May 21 st, 2010 Nominal entries deadline: Friday, June 25 th, 2010 PARTICIPATION FEE: Participation fee is: 5 per day and per person during access period (3 rd July to 11 th July). The participation free include: Accreditation, Security, First aid, use of the course for training, miscellaneous services, including drinking water, food, internet 6

7 ACCREDITATION Every participant to the world championship will have to register online, in the accreditation category of the official world championship website: Team leaders will be able to register all their team s members on a dedicated internet-based platform from Monday, May 3rd, Please note that a quality ID picture for every athlete will be requested. All needed instructions will be found there. The accreditations will be printed and ready to be handled when you arrive on site and when the payment of the participation fee is in order. Please note carefully that the Organizing Committee will not deliver any accreditation if the participation fee is not paid on time. No exception will be considered. 10 Rebech wildwater stadium The event will take place on the natural Rebech wildwater stadium in Foix on the Ariege River. Flow is dam regulated through a water scheme situated 2 kilometers upstream the venue. During the competition the team leaders area will provide information not just about start lists and results but about the whole event in general. INTERNET Wireless internet service will be available in the athletes centre and team leaders area free of charge. No password is necessary to have access to it. You can browse the website of the competition or can send s through the major providers. 11

12 BOAT STORAGE Boat racks are provided in the athletes village. You are requested to take your trailers to the designated trailer parking area after unloading the boats.
