Multiple Sport Participation We will never encourage a player to quit another sport to concentrate on football only. It is the coach s responsibility to arrange things so that the player can play multiple sports, not the player s They only get to be in high school for a short period of time. If they enjoy playing more than one sport they should do it. Club/Select/7on7 Teams We support and encourage participation in them. They help develop the skills needed to succeed But school sponsored sports come first!
Social Media & Electronic Devices Facebook/Facebook/Instagram. These outlets can discourage colleges and universities from recruiting your son. If your child posts inappropriate language or pictures he will receive consequences in athletics Extra Conditioning, Suspension, Dismissal. (Trash talking to opponents counts too ) Cell Phones Are not allowed to be out in any locker room.
ECC Code of Conduct All Students at LTHS that participate in extra-curricular activities must read and have their parents sign this document. All sports (UIL + powerlifting) Cheer/Dance Band Choir/Orchestra Trainers/Managers etc.

On and off school property. - Participants must project a positive image at all times - Participants are not to drink alcohol, not to use tobacco, not to use illegal drugs, or possess/be in the presence of drug paraphernalia - An E.C. student shall not attend a party or social gatherings with knowledge that alcohol or drugs are present. If the E.C. student determines that alcohol or drugs are present, he/she must leave the party or gathering immediately.
Key Points. Mandatory for all students that participate in UIL and competitive extra-curricular activities and required to obtain a parking pass. Tests are random (Urine sample) Drug Testing Tests will be administered by a 3 rd party group (discreet) First failed test will result in similar consequences to the ECC but will also include counseling - (All of which must be completed before returning to play in games) 2 weeks suspension from competitions/performances, 30 hours of community service 4 counselling sessions Student will be required to take/pass the next 2 rounds of testing
Student Athlete Handbook *** Lake Travis HS website under athletics/manuals and forms*** STUDENT ATHLETE DRESS CODE Student code of conduct is in force at all times. Athletics is a privilege; therefore, the following standard of dress is in addition to the student code. Additional standards may be set by High School Head Coaches of any program. 1) Hair shall be well groomed. No extreme hairstyles shall be allowed. Hair for male athletes shall not be below the collar of his shirt, not to hang down in front of eyes, and hair shall not cover the entire ear. 2) All athletes must be clean shaven, with no facial hair. 3) Jewelry is not permitted during athletic activities. Other restrictions may be directed by the campus staff. 4) Athletes shall avoid extreme clothes. Clothing should not reveal undergarments. A female athlete s midriff must be covered and shall not wear see-through clothing. These standards are to be followed during the school day, as well as during all athletic activities. 5) All middle school and high school athletes are expected to set a quality standard by adhering to the school dress code and policies in their mode of dress.
Distractions ACL COTA SXSW Music Festivals (wink wink) Blues on the Green etc Representing LT Football 365 days a year
What will your son get from football? 1. Structure 2. Family Atmosphere 3. Discipline 4. Brotherhood 5. It will open doors for your son (universities) Penn >80% of students = extra curricular 6. Since of Team Team Team 7. Enhanced self image. Not everyone can do what these kids are doing 8. If your son wants to play college football, he will be seen by 100 s of college coaches every year.
What do we expect from the players? Address concerns with coaches themselves 1 st. Their behavior/character on and off the field should never embarrass their school, family or team. Great Effort Playing good is hard playing hard is easy This program requires more than 50 minutes per day!! Cavs Course, After After, etc. Be unselfish! We have to put the needs of the team first. No other way around it.
What can players/parents expect from the coaches? Create a positive, enthusiastic, family atmosphere that builds confidence and character. Make sure Football is FUN! Hold your son accountable for his actions. Open line of communication with players and parents Spend more time with your sons than we do our own We will support them and will help them reach their goals.
What do we expect from the parents? Support at home! (Doesn t have to be agreement) Communicate with us. We re here to answer all questions. Nothing is off limits as long as it s about your kid. (we can t get into things about other children) There is no hidden agenda in regards to: teams, positions, depth chart. Every kid in this program has a chance to prove themselves on a daily basis. Who plays? Who is on Varsity? Is actually up to the players. They decide that on the field, weight room, film room, class room and on the weekends away from school. ***Some of you have coached these kids for many many years. Much longer than us But we may see their abilities differently than you. Some kids have changed a lot since elementary or middle school. Some haven t. We need to evaluate them based on what we see as they compare to our current players.
Team Placement Varsity JV Black JV White 9th Black 9th White 9th Red Playing a position other than what is desired
