3 Eagle High School Soccer Expectations of Eagle High Players: The coaching staff of Eagle High is committed to creating and maintaining a highly successful program. We measure success both in our accomplishments on the field, and in our character off the field. We have high expectations for our players in these areas: *Your first priority must always be the classroom. *You must respect all coaches and referees. *You must respect each member of our and the opposing team. *You must respect your peers, teachers, and administrators throughout the school. *You must positively contribute to your student body and your community, *You must be open to learning, understanding and practicing the values of teamwork. *You must do your best physically, mentally and emotionally to ensure our success In return for your commitment to these goals, we as a coaching staff are committed to the following: *Providing you with every opportunity to succeed. *Consistency in our approach and policies. *Complete dedication to our team. *To respect you as an individual and a young adult. General Information

4 *The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) states that no player can play on another team during our regular season. This includes church leagues. * Physicals, Interim Questionnaires must be on file with the trainer to participate. * Insurance! Players must have family insurance or buy school insurance to participate. * Meridian School District has a no- cut policy in effect. SIC and IHSAA Rules: Can only roster 18 per game to play. The entire team can suit up, but only 18 can participate per game. *Varsity Letter Requirements: A. Provide two hours of community service. B. Abide by all expectations polices and rules in this handbook and the Eagle High School handbook. *Uniforms (two jerseys & two shorts) When we issue any equipment to a player, they assume full responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance. If you lose it or damage it you pay for it. Please follow these washing instructions concerning our equipment. 1. Do not wash white and colored uniforms together 2. Do not overload your machine 3. Use cold or lukewarm water 4. Use a mild detergent or soap 5. Do not dry- clean *Pay to Participate- This fee needs to be paid to the EHS bookkeeper. All Varsity and Junior Varsity players must pay this district fee. The EHS girls soccer program is not requiring Development players to pay the fee. *All members of the EHS soccer program are expected to attend all practices and games. Please contact coaches with emergencies or questions so everyone is on the same page. *Your responsibility is to get along with your teammates. Please don t razz one another. Personality conflicts can be overcome by united team goals. Try not to be obsessed with looking and acting cool. Watch what you say or do. Don t give anyone anything negative to talk about. We need to be good role models and strong individuals in the community.

5 Practice Expectations and Schedule *Shin Guards must be worn at all times, no exceptions. They must be large enough to fit your shin correctly. There can only be a 2- inch space between the top of your ankle and the bottom of the shin guard. Logo: National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) will be legally required. Make sure the shin guard has the tag or stamp with NOCSAE on it. 1. Practices vary week to week but mostly fall on Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. 2. Practice times: Varsity 2:50-4:50 pm (Tuesday/Thursday) & 3:00-4:15 pm Hidden Springs) 3. Practice times: Junior Varsity: 6:30-8:00pm (Tuesday/Thursday/Friday) Practice Expectations: 4. Be ready with gear on at the start of practice. Always be early! 5. Bring a personal water bottle. 6. You must contact the coach one day prior to missing practice. 7. Missed practices: anytime you miss a practice, you will not be able to play in the next scheduled game. Sickness and family emergencies can be discussed and exceptions can be made due to the emergency. But the coaches must be notified prior to practice. Please leave a message if you cannot reach anyone. If you are uncertain whether your absence would be an exception, clear it with the coaches. If you have to make appointments, please arrange them around practice times. The same applies to test make- ups and tutoring. Schedule these before school or at lunch. 8. Staying healthy during the season. Wear sweats or long warm clothing when the weather is cool. Eat sensibly; fuel your body for performance and recovery. Do not share water bottles. Nutritional guidelines will be discussed with teams and examples handed out. 9. Do not come to practice with jewelry, long fingernails or make- up.

6 Game Expectations *Games: Monday and Wednesday (occasional Friday and Saturday games please refer to schedule). *SIC and IHSAA Rules: Can only roster 18 per game to play. Game Day: *School: Players will dress in uniform top for the specific game that is being played that day, varsity, junior varsity and development teams. Along with the jersey top, players will wear appropriate blue jeans and supportive tennis shoes. School Dress Code needs to be adhered to. Please dress for success! *Be at the field 45 min. prior to game start time. Please leave plenty of time for traffic and road construction. *Sit as a team. *Make sure you have all your equipment. Always bring both dark and white uniforms. *Do not come to games with jewelry, long fingernails or make- up. Required Attire: *You are required to wear warm- up long sleeve or short sleeve team shirts to games (captains will decide and notify team one day prior to game). *Wear appropriate game shorts, socks with shin guards to field. Cleats can be put on once you have arrived to team bench or warm- up area. *Bring all other equipment/sweats/uniforms in team bag. *Shin Guards must be worn at all times, no exceptions. 7 Athletic eligibility: Meridian District Policy on attending school the day of a game: *A student who is absent during any part of the day of an evening performance or function may not participate in that performance or function. The only exception would be a written excuse from a medical doctor that day and the student is well enough to perform. Transportation: No buses this year unless requested for specific trips (state tournament). All players must provide their own transportation. Expectations at a game and on the field: *Never show any emotion or reaction to a referee s call. Decent will not be tolerated and a yellow card means substitute. *Please support the other teams. It is important for us to be a unified athletic program. *Always show sportsmanship and positive attitudes on the field. Remember you are representing EHS, your team and yourself! Role of Parent Please be there as a support system for your child. Release them to the game and allow them to experience both failure and success on their own terms. Give them positive reinforcement and encouragement! Make sure the game is their game, and not yours. Release your child to her coach, and just be a spectator of the games and not another coach on the opposite sideline. They need to only hear one voice and one instruction. Let the coaches coach and you cheer your child and the team! Never show any emotion or reaction to a referee s call. Please be a good role model as to how to act on the sidelines. Do not approach the referees or opposing teams coaching staff. Parents and spectators (relatives, friends) are not allowed to step onto playing field or cross to player side before, during or after a game (home or away). Please wait for your child/player to come to you on the spectator side. If a parent has questions remember to talk to your child first. They might be able to answer your question. Please do not ask the coaching staff about playing time. We will play who we want when we want.

8 Drug and Alcohol Policy The Eagle High Women s Soccer Program has a no tolerance policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol. Any player that is involved with drugs and alcohol on school property or off school property will immediately be released from the team. No exceptions! It is very important that all team members, coaches and parents be supportive of each other and come together to promote a healthy, active and positive environment. We are leaders, mentors and role models of the Eagle Community and we need to demonstrate this by being positive examples. *Please refer to for the drug and alcohol policy of Joint School District No. 2., Meridian. Social Media Social Media: Be careful what you post on social media. Any use of social media that misrepresents the school and/or team, is harmful to the school and/or team, or shows conduct or behavior not positively representing the individual, team, and/or school will be subject to disciplinary action and possible dismissal by the coach and/or school administration. Grades If you are having trouble with a class, the coaches want to know about it. We want to be a support system on and off the field. There will be grade checks throughout the season. *There are weekly grade checks throughout the season to make sure players are committing to their classroom work as much as their field work. Coaches receive a print out from the athletic director. *If a student receives a D or F in any class we will evaluate her needs and work toward improving those grades. Parents will be contacted. * You must maintain a C average in each class to be able to participate in games. You may still attend practice and suit up for the bench, but will not participate in games until your grades are back to a C average. *Most important thing is to keep the balance between school, sports and family. That will enable the student athlete to succeed without outside stresses getting in the way of enjoying the game of soccer.

9 Volunteers Needed *Varsity and Junior Varsity Lead Volunteer- Getting information out to team, organizing the ticket sales for all home games (requesting the money bag, picking it up and getting it to me by the end of the varsity game). Be able to communicate with other lead volunteer. Help coordinate travel. *Fundraising- Need a lead volunteer- Mustang Hamburger Stand - This is our major fundraiser this year and all profits go straight to Eagle Women s Soccer. We will be selling hamburgers and sausages at all home games. I need someone that can run the fundraiser by purchasing all the products needed (putting a purchase order in under your name, getting my signature and then reimbursement will go back to you. Have to have P.O. in before you purchase), organization for the night, signing up volunteers, etc. It is every home game until the end of season. Will need to put requests in each time to get change from bookkeeper and return all money and tally to Administration on duty that night. *Stats - Each game *Web Site- Updating the site for meetings, information, games sites, game results, pictures, etc. *Announcer at all home games on grass- Need to find a small speaker system to be able to play music, announce teams, etc. *Score Board Keeper- Sits down by scoreboard and starts clock and records scores. *Game Day Field Organization- Need a few hands to set up corner flags for Junior varsity and Varsity games, put up pop up tents for our side as well as the announcer s side, set up table for announcer and stats keeper, set up table for ticket sales. Also need a shade tent for away games set- up. *Lawn Mowing- School district will only mow the grass to a certain length. We need additional mowing for it to be soccer ready. We have a riding lawn mower. Need to put a PO in for purchase of gas. Girl s soccer team mows the lawn and boy s soccer team paints. *Senior Night* Need a lead volunteer- Organize for this year s senior night. *Team Lunch Coordinators: Someone who can organize team lunches, snacks for halftime. *Spirit Wear - Find, design and place order for long sleeve and short sleeve warm- up jerseys for all in EHS Program. Get information to Coach to place PO for purchase. - Find design and place order for parent spirit wear. See who is interested in purchasing? *Sweatshirts, long sleeve- t- shirts, short sleeve t- shirts, etc.
