This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about what they do, see their operations and beautiful property, and network with your Chamber friends. This is also a great chance to bring a business guest who isn t currently a member but may be thinking about joining the Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce. If you have any questions, feel free to call WACC Welcomes New Member The WACC is excited to introduce our newest member, Sorenson s Truck & Auto Repair, LLC. STAR LLC is a primarily a commercial truck and automobile repair shop but may extend to small engine and agricultural equipment when the opportunity presents itself. This company offers a number of services from oil changes to chassis work to engine rebuilds. The first goal of STAR is to provide affordable repair and maintenance service to the Wild Rose area. The second goal of STAR is to provide a means of affordable transportation to the area through the purchase, repair, and sale of vehicles. STAR will provide services that include but are not limited to; repair, maintenance, modifications within DOT standards, DOT inspections, air conditioning work, engine overhauls, as well as pickup and delivery of any equipment that needs to be serviced. In spare time STAR will also buy, repair, and sell vehicles on a small scale basis. Music in the Park Presents: Genesee Depot The WACC and the City of Wautoma present Genesee Depot on Thursday, August 24 th from 6-8:30pm. Genesee Depot is country rock at its finest. Songs by Carly Simon, Hank Williams Jr., Taylor Swift and, oh yes, Elvis Presley. For those of you who attended last year you already know that you just can t sit still, so bring those high-heeled sneakers and be ready to boogie. Sponsored by Coldwell Banker TREG and Cottage Motors the concert begins at 6 PM with Jim King as the opening act. King is well known in the area (and beyond) for his rock, pop, country, and gospel songs along with stories, jokes and trivia. Bring your friends, lawn chairs, and dancing shoes for a great night that the whole family can enjoy at Bird Creek Park. Little Sprouts will provide concessions and the Chamber will be selling beer and wine. Rain location will be the WWII Memorial Building.

2 Farm-to-Fork Picnic in the Field Enjoy Thursday evening dinners summer through fall at the Fresh For Life Organics Farm. The menu is set for this Thursday, August 17 th, so find a seat at their table or bring a blanket to place in the field and enjoy an organic plant-based picnic-style meal. Dinners will be plantbased using organic ingredients that highlight their farm s fresh picked produce with an emphasis on promoting seasonal local foods. Think of it as Meatless Mondays on Thursdays. Dinners include a main dish, salad, side dish, drink, and dessert and are served beginning at 5:30pm with the final serving at 8:00pm. Come enjoy the exhibits and entertainment that it offers to both youth and old. Enjoy wristband specials on Thursday from 5:30-10pm and 12-4:30pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be tractor pulls on Thursday at 7:00pm, truck pulls on Friday at 7pm, the Tri-County Pullers Mini-rods with South Central Tractor Pullers on Saturday at 7pm, and the infamous demolition derby on Sunday at 5pm. Don't forget to talk a walk along the midway or through the Commercial and Exhibition buildings on the North end of the fairgrounds. If you have any questions, please contact Tina or Terry Farago at rd Annual 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Auction Sale Area youth are working hard getting their animal projects ready for the upcoming Waushara County Fair, Aug The market animals will be judged at the fair and those qualifying will be offered for sale during the 43rd annual 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. in the youth pavilion sale ring at the south end of the fairgrounds. The auction finalizes the market animal projects for poultry, swine, rabbits, sheep, dairy and beef for youth exhibiting their animals. Local and regional businesses and citizens are invited to attend this exciting event to support these youth exhibitors, as everyone is welcome to bid. The sale order for the 2017 Livestock Auction is poultry, swine, rabbits, sheep, six dairy project sponsorship lots and beef. In order to help promote the dairy project, six dairy sponsorships were added to the auction last year. Concerts in the Gazebo Presents Jack Armstrong The Neshkoro Enhancement Committee will be hosting Jack Armstrong for some great music at 6:30pm on Friday, August 18th. The concerts are held at the River's Edge Park located between Main Street and S. State Street in Neshkoro. The concerts will start each Friday night at 6:30pm and admission is a free will offering. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the Neshkoro Area Community Center. This Week at the Coloma Hotel The Coloma Hotel hosts another full weekend of Music. Old Time Sounds will take the stage on Saturday, August 19 th. Performances take place rain or shine, 7-9 pm. No cover charge, but gratuities are appreciated. The Coloma Hotel Pub will also be open for refreshments at each show. If you have any questions, call them at How to Design and Make Scrap Quilts With Your Stash Judy Stapleman Kroes of Neshkoro/Racine, Wisconsin will be speaking and showing over 60 quilts and projects she has made. Judy taught Home Economics in a middle/high school for 33 years and Quilting was an important part of her program. After retiring the number one thing on her bucket list was to complete her quilt tops and present her trunk show in Wisconsin. Judy will be sharing her 60 quilts and projects, Tuesday, August 22nd at the Neshkoro Area Community Center (former grade school) at 1:30 p.m. in Neshkoro. Judy encourages everyone to bring their stash and any questions. She will be teaching in the fall at Fox Valley tech in Wautoma a 16 hour Quilting technique class. Save the date on your calendar Sunday, August 27 th, AMVETS 2 nd Annual Poker Run. Patriots Pub & Grill is excited to host the AM Vet Riders 2nd Annual Poker Run on Sunday, August 27 th at 12:00pm. This years ride will go to benefit Wuashara County Veterans Dental Work. All are welcomed to attend (all wheels ride) for $15 per person $25 per couple, top 3 hands awarded cash prize. There will be 50/50 raffles at each stop, raffles and food available at

For more information: Saturday, September 9 th, ASTOP s Women s Event. Join the Berlin Conservation Club and ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center for a day of shooting sports in a non-stressful environment. You will learn about firearm safety, handguns, and receive one on one shoot and trapshooting instruction. Proceeds from this event will assist victims of sexual assault in Green Lake, Waushara, and Fond du Lac counties. This event will provide an introduction into shooting sports with a focus on having a fun and safe day. All women and girls 12 & up (minors must be accompanied by an adult) are invited. No previous experience with firearms is required. There is room for only 40 participants so register early by calling Patti at Saturday, September 9 th, Trading Post Golf Outing. Join the Trading Post on Saturday, September 9th at the Waushara Country Club in Wautoma beginning at 10am for their first golf outing. ALL the money raised will go to Wisconsin Vest-a-Dog Program. Wisconsin Vest-A-Dog was started in 2005 and is a non-profit, tax deductible organization endorsed by the Wisconsin Veterinary Association. Every donation is used for the purchase and shipping of vests and other protective equipment. The goal of the VEST-A-DOG program is to provide a bullet proof and stab proof vest for every police dog in Wisconsin. The vests are the only protection these K-9 officers have until their human partners arrive on the scene.
