Ju Faculty Xenia Goodwin Contemporary Xenia played the lead role of Tara in the ABC Television Series Dance Academy, an award winning and internationally acclaimed teen drama series, shown worldwide

Xenia was selected to play a leading role in Dance Academy in 2009 when she was 16 years old and went on to appear in all 65 episodes of the three-series production over several years.

She also studied full-time at Tanya Pearson s Classical Coaching Academy where she travelled to New York with the Academy to perform at the Youth America Grand Prix.

Veronica George Theatre Jazz Veronica is a professional Musical Theatre performer.

She also had the pleasure of working alongside Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz. Heath Keating JFH Heath began dancing at the age of seven in Mullumbimby and then the Gold Coast.

Xenia was selected to play a leading role in Dance Academy in 2009 when she was 16 years old and went on to appear in all 65 episodes of the three-series production over several years. Xenia has been training in the Cecchetti method of Classical Ballet at the Valerie Jenkins Academy of Ballet since the age of 9. She also studied full-time at Tanya Pearson s Classical Coaching Academy where she travelled to New York with the Academy to perform at the Youth America Grand Prix. She continues to pursue her passion for the performing arts, having recently performed at the Cecchetti Ballet Australia National Conference in Sydney. Her versatility is shown through her many credits in Theatre and corporate work including performing alongside Lisa McCune at the Capitol Theatre in the production of Guys and Dolls as a principal dancer, performing in Graeme Murphy s Tivoli with the Sydney Dance Company, Grease- the Arena Spectacular (Australia & NZ tour) as a dancer and Dance Captain and the musical The Wizard of Oz. Veronica appeared in Baz Lurhmann s film Moulin Rouge as the Tattooed Can Can dancer. She has performed on P&O Cruise ship Pacific Sky, in the show Fever with Rhonda Burchmore. She also had the pleasure of working alongside Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz. Heath Keating JFH Heath began dancing at the age of seven in Mullumbimby and then the Gold Coast. He attended the Dance Excellence Program at Palm Beach-Currumbin High School and performing at the Gold Coast Arts Centre, which included playing the role of Andy Lee in 42nd Street, alongside Rob Guest in In 2005, Heath was honored to graduate under full-scholarship at ED5 International Performing Arts in Sydney, followed by international credits of Chistery in Wicked (Universal Studios Japan), Pacific Sun (P&O Cruises), and touring Asia and the Middle East with Barney and Friends (Millennium Entertainment). In 2010 Heath appeared on So You Think You Can Dance Australia (Series 3) as one of the Top 20 and since then has been cast in major musicals including Grease, Hairspray, A Chorus Line, Handa Opera s Carmen, as well as many live TV events including X Factor, Dance Academy, Logies, Sunrise, Hey Hey It s Saturday and Australian Idol. Jayden Rodrigues Hip Hop Jayden is technically trained in F.A.T.D. jazz syllabus as a qualified dance teacher. Jayden was a Top 24 contestant on X-Factor 2013 and the judges put him into a boy band! A gifted performer, he has experienced a diverse television career, including appearances on "Home & Away", "Mornings with Kerri Anne", Channel 7's 'Sunrise', and 'Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Award. Jayden has also had acting roles in TV-movies including The Informant' which aired on Channel 9, and the TV Series 'Crime Investigation Australia. Jayden was also a special guest dancer on the TV series "Dance Academy" on ABC3 and has performed as one of Cassie Davis' back up dancers on "So You Think You Can Dance". Jayden has performed in Kuala Lumpur in front of thousands of children singing and dancing alongside Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder. He has been a professional entertainer since the age of 15 and has entertained audiences in Australia, China, Indonesia and the US.

Faculty Sarah Boulter - Contemporary Sarah Boulter has become a household name through her spellbinding contemporary choreography for the TV show So You Think You Can Dance in Australia and the UK.

She then went on to spend two years living in Las Vegas where she had the amazing opportunity of working in the Celine Dion show A New Day with great names such as Mia Michaels and Franco Dragone.

Recent choreographic credits included the opening ceremony of the 2011 Arab Games (David Atkins Enterprises), Dance Academy, ABC and Puberty Blues, Channel 10.

Thomas Bradley - Contemporary Thomas originally comes from Cootamundra, NSW, where he received his early dance training in Jazz and Ballet.

While at VCASS he performed with the Melbourne Ballet Company seven month production of CATS and placed third at the Australian Choreographic Competition.

Sarah started working professionally at age 16 with Darc Swan, a contemporary company based in Sydney. Sarah has performed in the hit musical Notre Dame de Paris in Europe, the Edinburgh Festival, The Royal Variety Performance and the Queen s 50th Jubilee celebration in London. Sarah is the director of Ev & Bow, a full-time contemporary dance course. Thomas performed in Rafael Bonachela s 2 One Another; Project Rameau; De Novo, featuring works by Rafael Bonachela (Emergence), Larissa McGowan (Fanatic) and Alexander Ekman (Cacti); Les Illuminations; and the acclaimed season Interplay (2014) featuring choreography by Rafael Bonachela (2 in D Minor), Jacopo Godani (Raw Models) and Gideon Obarzanek (L Chaim!). Manuela Oliveira JFH Manuela has just returned from Los Angeles where she was the choreographer and Performance Advisor on NBCs "The Voice" Seasons 1,2 & 3. She worked with each artist individually starting from the Auditions then Battle Rounds, staging and working on their performance presence. She also staged the opening performance for coaches; Ceelo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton & Adam Levine. Other career highlights include choreographer for X- Factor USA Season 1 working alongside Paula Abdul. Manuela was also a choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance Australia 1,2 & 3 and So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia Season 1,2 as Artistic Director / Choreographer and Guest Judge. Manuela has danced with Jennifer Lopez in her music video On the Floor and with Rihanna at the MTV Music Awards. Jason Winters - Contemporary Jason trained with a full scholarship at Southern Ballet Theater and The Demetrius Klein Dance Ensemble training in Graham, Limon, Horton, and Cunningham Techniques. Jason gained an apprenticeship with The DK Modern Dance Company in South Florida and then moved to the corps de ballet, and eventually a soloist position with SBT in Orlando, Florida. After three years as a professional in the ballet world, Jason embarked on a 10 year relationship with The Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, Florida and Tokyo Disneyland, Japan. He was a dancer/principal in 9 full-length shows including Beauty & the Beast and Lion King. He was choreographer/dancer in the dance company of acclaimed choreographer MIA MICHAELS and continued to assist Mia Michaels on many global projects including So You Think You Can Dance America & Canada, and the renowned Cirque de Soleil s DELIRIUM.

All groups are for experienced dancers. WHAT DO I WEAR AND WHAT SHOES SHOULD I BRING WITH ME? The dress code is not strict. Please wear casual dance wear, something that you already have and feel comfortable in eg. Lycra dance tights & top, leotard & tights with skirt or shorts over the top, track pants and t-shirt/singlet top. Please bring your jazz shoes or jazz sneakers. Ballet flats, bare feet or cotton socks for Lyrical & Contemporary. WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING? Some suggestions of things to put in your sports bag: a bottle of drinking water, tissues, autograph book, hair elastics, bandaids, a notebook and pencil, lunch or lunch money, snacks to keep your energy up. FOOD / SNACKS There is a café next to our studios that sells water, soft drinks, juice, lights meals, hot chips, sandwiches & rolls, coffee, hot chocolate, cakes and biscuits etc. Otherwise please bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks. Students with any allergy should take their own appropriate precautions. There is a commercial café at the front of the studio venue. We cannot monitor what students may eat or purchase from the café. VALUABLES AND LOST PROPERTY Take your bags and valuables into the studio with you or leave them with your parent. Please remember to take everything with you after class as Sydney Dance Company cannot take responsibility for loss of items. FACILITIES There are boys and girls toilets, change rooms and showers at the end of the hall opposite the studios. WARMING UP Please be on time for the first class as it is important to warm up properly to avoid injury. CLASS BEHAVIOUR It is important students are respectful towards teachers and comply with any requests made by the teacher, as the well-being of the entire class is the teachers responsibility. MOBILE PHONES All mobile phones must be turned off prior to commencement of the class. STAFF SUPERVISION Students will be supervised by our Teachers and Room Monitors at all times and also during meal breaks. Please ensure that students are collected on time after the final class at 4pm. Supervision will end 20 minutes after the final class and Sydney Dance Company cannot be responsible for students after this time. If you are running late please call our office on CHILD SAFETY CHECK All Teachers and Room Monitors at Sydney Dance Company have undergone the working with children check screening and are aware of their obligations under the Commission for Children and Young People Act REFUNDS We do not provide refunds or credits for change of mind or other personal circumstances.
