This Week At Camp... Camp The Salisbury School Weekly Newsletter

Setting Sail --Ariel, Brooklyn, Nikki, & Ronna Setting Sail had such a fun third week of camp! Monday was crazy hat & hair day. Jayden & Madison had orange hair to get in the crazy hair spirit. Justin, Alie, Gabe & Diego wore their crazy hats to camp. And Myara, Kayleigh, and Ruby had colorful and wild crazy hair. In the afternoon we had alphabet yoga and learned so many new stretches. On Tuesday we started the day by learning about why be celebrate the fourth of July at opening. Everyone wore their red, white & blue to get in the Fourth of July spirit. We ended the day with an awesome festival. We rode our bikes, and walked in a parade. We even had ice pops and lemonade. Then we went to a concert and danced to the music! Space Odyssey Thursday was full of zaniness. Dillon brought his light saver, Gabe wore his space goggles, Justin wore his space hat, and Sara wore her space shirt. Music Studio -- Sara Benson This week in the Music studio we had a ton of fun with old and new games. Doggy Doggy was a crowd favorite on Monday. On Tuesday Sharks and OneFish TwoFish loved making their very own tambourines for the 4th of July on the 3rd Parade! RedFish BlueFish We met some awesome aliens at opening and made creative planets and robots in art. We had a great third week at camp and made so many new friends. and Marlins Dolphins had their very own mini dance party on Thursday which was a huge success. And Setting Sail had tons of fun with What Time Is It Mr World? and Red Light Green Light. Sharks loved Ninja and a very modified version of Cop and Robbers. This week was amazing and we re so excited for next week!

One Fish Two Fish --Amanda, Kristen, and Olivia This week in one fish/ two fish we had a lot of fun! On Tuesday the campers enjoyed a parade and their very own concert. On Friday they will go on a safari and see wild animals. In art barn they made paper mâché planets and binoculars to use on the safari. In wacky science they found out what type of fingerprints they had. We all enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the campers. Sports --Ron Bose This week in sports campers participated in a variety of different sports ranging from; flag football, bowling, basketball, mini-golf, and mat ball. Setting sail perform a variety of different activities such as mini golf, bowling, and taking an imaginary camping trip with a huge parachute. There favorite activity was bowling and our outdoor mini-golf course. One fish/two fish enjoyed the Lights, Camera, Technomania! --Christopher Pruitt Well Parents, I know I ve said it before but it s worth saying again, this year of camp has gone very smooth and has been so much fun! There were a few more ufo sightings in Lights Camera Technomania! but fortunately non of the campers were taken by aliens. We think they might be here to learn more about summer camp and what better place than Camp Odyssey!? The most amazing camp on the planet! Everyone has been so creative and enthusiastic this summer. We hope mini wilderness safari obstacle course where they walked over water, climbed through tunnels, and slithered like snakes. Red fish/blue fish seemed to really get into our flag football day where everyone illuminated the field with their spectacular creative plays. Marlins/dolphins had a blast playing mini golf, where some campers tried to beat their partner s best score and challenge themselves. The sharks had a short week in your 4th of July was a blast and we look forward to seeing you next week! sports due to the holiday/field trip, but seemed to really have a ball playing basketball, where campers could participate in knock-out or around the world games. This week was a fun and creative week with our themes, especially July 4ever day where campers decorated vehicles and participated in our annual July 4ever parade.

The Marlins and Dolphins --Emily Hoffman On Monday the camp was filled with crazy hats and hair. The dolphins were excited for this week at camp! Monday the campers in crafty art the campers made hats to wear the day. In art attack the dolphins made self portrait. Tuesday was the day that was a fun filled day! Spencer, Kristin, and Klaira helped King Sloppy Joe in opening! Everyone was dressed in their red, white, and blue! The dolphins were having fun during the parade and the concert by Liana Conaway! Thursday the dolphins lead a song during opening! The boys in sports had fun playing mini golf outside! Sarah, Alyssa, and Spencer did the rock wall and the giant swing this week! Friday was a day full of fun with being safari day!!! Dolphins are ready for a fun week and the sleepover!!! Outdoor Adventure --Heather Malatt Because of our wacky schedule this week, Outdoor Adventure started off getting all of our wanting campers on the Giant Swing on Monday - an almost unheard of feat! Tuesday we went fishing with our Setting Sail friends while our older campers got to cross the Amazon on the mini zip line and everyone climbed the rock wall. We took off Wednesday to enjoy our country s Independence Day with good food and fireworks. Thursday brought more of the Giant Swing along with some Whale Watching on our unbalanced ship and a trip across the Amazon. We look forward to using the Pamper Pole with the Sharks tomorrow and trying to cross the Toxic River. Crafty Art --Karen Ciancitto What is camp-art without glitter? This week in the art barn we had plenty of it! Campers showed off their patriotism and creativity by making red, while, and blue paintings and finishing them off with what else but red, silver, and blue glitter! Later in the week to highlight Space Odyssey we made paper mache planets. They were beautiful! Some even resemble our planet Earth while others were completely imaginary! Next week in the art we will show our spooooky side by making silly monsters! I can t wait to see what the campers come up with!

Red Fish Blue Fish --Danni Campbell & Becky Early This week the red and blue fish have had tons and tons of fun. In group time we play lots of games. on Monday we played silent speed ball with introductions of everyone as well as Indian chief. Tuesday in group time we all got ready for the parade for the fourth of July. Monday was Crazy hat and hair day. The campers got to help the counselors do their hair for the day. Thursday was space odyssey and Riley and Megan had fun making UFO s through out the week to make a movie on Thursday with their UFO s. Friday was Wilderness Safari Party and the campers got to enjoy the day in the wilderness. Through out the week they got to make patriotic paintings in art and played different game shows through out the week. Wacky Science --Robert McNeill Campers in Wacky Science started off this week learning about their own fingerprints. We inked our fingers with graphite from a pencil, and pressed them onto the paper, revealing what type of finger print each camper had. On Tuesday, campers made paper airplanes, although one might not have guessed that s what they were The seemingly inauspicious cylinders of paper zipped through the air with alarming velocities: what curious aerodynamics! After our break on Wednesday, (Happy Independence Day, everyone!) each age group made their own building out of gummies and tooth picks, seeing for themselves the effects of stress and tension throughout a network of such materials. Word Up! --De Andre Tyrone Molock This week in word up was the best week ever. We had a huge staff scavenger hunt Monday. The campers really enjoyed that. Tuesday thru Friday we have been working on our Pen pal letters. Our letters will be going up to New Jersey with Anthony. Anthony works here a camp and is very well known. The best part about this week is how many campers come up to me and tell me they want to do word up again. I really can t wait to see what is in store for next week.

Cranium Busters --Johnathan Wilkins I hope everyone had an amazing fourth of July! All of the campers enjoyed our fourth of July day that we had on Tuesday the 3rd. We had a parade which including campers, for the campers, by the campers. This week was a bit different for the Cranium Busters group because of the day off we had in the middle of the week. Taking a step back to talk about Monday now. All of the campers were to build a tower out of toothpicks... and marshmallows!!! Talk about a sticky situation. All of them loved the challenge and the marshmallows that they could eat after they were done building their towers. I also had a little chocolate for the campers that couldn t eat or didn t want to eat the marshmallows. Tuesday was shortened a bit because of the fourth of July festival that we had going on that day so we played different games in the classroom or had the campers finish up with their toothpick towers. On Thursday the campers and I played a game called inception named after the movie. In groups I had the campers draw a maze with a time restriction. The idea is to draw a maze in a certain amount of time and pass it to a group who has twice that amount of time to solve the maze. Overall it was another great week in camp as well as cranium busters. I can t wait til next week! Game Show Studio --Brent Jansen This has been another good week at camp. We had an amazing parade and a fantastic concert! I think this week has been my favorite so far, and I think the campers are thinking the same thing. This week in Game Show, we have done 20 Questions, Wheel of Fortune Dance --Liana Stiegler Week 3 brought campers with lots of energy to the dance studio! Setting Sail and One Fish Two Fish burned off some steam by dancing to ABC. They also enjoyed playing musical mats, mirrors (a follow the leader game), alphabet ball, and pretending to be wild safari animals on Friday. Red Fish Blue Fish rocked dancing to Bye Bye Bye, while Marlins, Dolphins, and Sharks learned a dance to What Makes You Beautiful. All three groups took a break from dancing to play blob tag and charades. (without a wheel), Family Feud (a camp favorite), and Who wants to be a Millionaire. So far things have gone great! I really hope the campers feel the same way as I do and I hope the summer will continue to be filled with fun!!!

Art Attack --Helena Beckstead This week in Art Attack, we started the week off with crazy hat and hair day! The campers made crazy hats and hair-but not on their own heads. They made self portraits on plates, then added yarn, glitter, sequins, feathers to thier hair. On Tuesday, July 4 Ever, everyone got ready for barbecuing with their families by making sparklers. The best part? The tops were removable, and could be put on toothpicks and skewers for a festive dinner for Wednesday! When everyone returned for Thursday, it was Space Odyssey, the most anticipated activity of the week Space Robot Making! Using aluminum foil and their imaginations, campers made their own space creatures. Friday, to better see the wild animals on Wild-erness Safari Day, campers made binoculars to search for that rare bird, or even spot a giraffe! It was a wonderful week in Art Attack, and I m excited to see everyone again next week! Gottcha... Photo Gallery!!
