As most of you know, the show was originally scheduled for late arch and had been since the summer. Due to some scheduling conflict, the hreveport Convention center decided to force World of Wheels to change their date to accommodate another vendor even though the arch date had been set and confirmed with Convention center management since the summer. ake a long story short, David and Gail had no choice but to move up the show date, making it impossible for us as a club to start - much less complete - a complex display build in only 6 weeks. What made matters worse, we got the word of the date change in early November, putting our build time right into the holidays, which limited our time even more to work on a display and to get cars for the show. Based on this predicament, I decided to cancel the display all together, and forget about even having cars entered in the show as most of our members would be either out of town or unavailable right after the holidays to put their car in a display. I was not able to take off the usual 5 days of vacation to work the World of Wheels show because I had requested off for the incorrect dates based on the original arch date, so someone had already gotten approval for the same 5 days. o, no longer being able to help build a display, or set one up during the week of the show, I decided to cancel the display. When word of the date move and the cancellation of our club display was announced at the Veterans Day show and shine at the VFW post the second aturday of last November, several club members at the show expressed to me that we had to have a display in the show to help support the Gunns and their now potentially damaged World of Wheels car show. Those same members ended up entering their cars in the show and throwing together a quick display of a ardi Gras Parade display with a total of 7 cars. As it turned out, the other car clubs felt the same way, but just entered their cars in the show without any attempt at a display theme, so we ended up winning best club display anyway by default, for lack of a better term. I didn't even want to do a display, because to me, if you can t do it right and give it your best, then it s not worth doing. But a few of our long time die hard members stepped up and put a quick display together anyway to help out some fellow car enthusiasts (the Gunns), and ended up not only winning best club display, but also winning an award in each of their classes for the individual cars entered in the show. Once again, our club membership has come together and have proven once again that we are THE Premier car club in the hreveport Bossier area. Thomas onahan President

It was still cooler than normal and during the time there only one day of rain and it didn't last long. Again this year CA and the Kevin arty group had bad locations for our booth. Another item that came up was the ordering of Clear hine's Nanowash which is a waterless cleaner and detailer. When ordering you'll see a box asking you where you heard it from. Please put CA. 4 Page 4 The Pony Express H OW T I E This year's World of Wheels has come and gone. Congrats to our club for winning Best Club Display!!!! This club pulled together again to put on the display. ince World of Wheels had a schedule change by moving up the show by months, the club pulled together to show others what can be done by the "Premier Car Club" of the area!! Along with the club winning an award, all participants of our display also brought home a trophy. Not only did we have club members helping to mark the floor for the overall show, but members setting up our display, being available to "monitor" the display throughout the show as well as those that stayed after the show for teardown and cleanup. Even though our Annual show is in eptember, it's not too early to start working towards it. I've spoken with our contact, Amos, at Wray Ford and confirmed the show date of eptember 5th. We'll be staying in touch with Wray Ford throughout the year. There are several things that will be happening toward the show happenings. We'll be asking for designs. These will be due by the June club meeting so that any/all designs can be voted on by the members present at the July meeting. I'll be looking for volunteers for a show committee. All volunteers and ideas will be welcome. This is the club's 5th Annual RoundUp, so something along those lines could be considered for our theme/show shirt design. Remember, this is a CUB activity. Bring your enthusiasm and ideas!! There are some important decisions relating to our annual show that need to be addressed as a club. I'm asking all members to be present at the arch monthly club meeting to address these issues so that we can print our flyers and posters up for advertisement of the show. Also, I would like to start our show committee meetings in arch. Volunteers for show committee would be appreciated but you may be asked to contribute your time, since this Is a club event and involves all of us. Just ayin' Kay Reminder: Annual club dues renewals are due by the end of January. embership will be carried one month into February. Our annual membership report is due to CA by arch, 08.
