(Information, News & Knowledge) What s Happening This Month Inside this issue: Shuffleboard League Results Award Winners 3 Upcoming Events 4 Just For Fun 5 Calendar 6 2 Rook We finally have enough players for Rook so play will begin Wednesday, July 5 and continue every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Computer Classes Introduction to Computers Rockingham Community College will once again provide free computer classes if you meet the income eligibility requirements. Check at the front desk of RCARE to see if you qualify. Classes will begin July 11th and be held every Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 noon. Deadline to register is July 7th. Register now if interested! North Carolina Senior Games applications are available at RCARE but you save a considerable amount of money if you register on line. The early bird registration deadline is 7/1/17. The final deadline to register is 8/1/17 with no exceptions. See Cindy or Rhena if you need assistance registering. Welcome to June Carlson June Carlson is our newest employee and she comes to us through the NCBA job training program. Laughter is the Best Medicine 7/11/17 Computer Classes Begin 7/20/17 1:00 Senior Bingo 7/26/17 Laughter is the Best Medicine Seminar 1pm-2:30 pm The LEAF Adult Day Care Center is presenting a seminar for caregivers on Wednesday, July 26th at RCARE from 1:00 p.m. 2:30 p.m. Are you a stressed caregiver? Then this presentation is for you. Laughing is an easy way to strengthen all immune functions, bring more oxygen to the body and brain, foster positive feelings and improve interpersonal skills. Generation Gap Her class assignment was to interview an old person about his life, so my niece asked me, What was the biggest historical event that happened during your childhood? Vital Signs She s only in her 40s, but my friend Mary has bounced back from cancer, heart problems, even a stroke. Through it all, she and her husband, Mark, have kept a sense of humor.
