4 PLEASE THE APPLICATION ALONG WITH PHOTOCOPIES OF ALL IDENTIFICATION CARDS AND FORWARD ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE REGARDING THIS FORM TO COMPETITION GUIDELINES These guidelines are set so that all participating teams will be subject to the same requirements. After reading the guidelines, both of your contact representatives should sign the HFD Application and then return it to Indus. Your application will not be processed until the form is signed. General Competition Guidelines: 1. Over the years a new issue has arisen regarding the usage of professional choreography in competitive routines. Such behavior will not be tolerated because it undermines the spirit of intercollegiate competition. If there is reason to suspect that professional choreography has been included in a team's routine, the team will be immediately contacted and will be kindly requested to either change or cut out the given segment(s) of choreography. If the routine remains unchanged, and if there is enough evidence to justify the decision, the team will not be allowed to perform (if the professional choreography is seen during tech rehearsal). If professional choreography is not seen during tech rehearsal but noticed during the performance, then either a proportionate number of points (to the amount of professional choreography used) will be deducted from the final score (and we ensure you that this loss will be significant enough to greatly outweigh any advantage the professional choreography may have given you in the first place) or, the team will be disqualified if the infraction is significant enough, or. As long as your team has choreographed an original dance, there will be no issue. 2. Teams are responsible for any damage to the venue spaces, equipment or materials (i.e. stage, dressing rooms, parking lots). Teams are financially responsible for this damage and will be charged accordingly. a. IN ORDER TO ENSURE TEAMS KEEP DRESSING ROOMS CLEAN, WE ARE ENFORCING A $150 CLEANING DEPOSIT (DUE WITH APPLICATION) FOR EVERY TEAM. TEAMS WILL BE REFUNDED THE $150 AFTER BOLLYWOOD BERKELEY GIVEN INDUS COUNCIL IS NOT CHARGED FOR THE CLEANING OF A TEAM S DRESSING ROOM. I HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THE ABOVE (PLEASE INITIAL) 3. Any overtime costs due to a team s behavior or carelessness will be charged to the team. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning up team props after the event, disposing of team trash and props, and failure to comply with venue rules and regulations. 4. Teams that have competed and/or been successful in the past are NOT guaranteed the chance to compete at Bollywood Berkeley. Each team will be evaluated on its strengths in the audition video. Please understand that many teams apply to Bollywood Berkeley. All teams must maintain the quality of the competition by judging fairly and accepting only the strongest performances. As stated in this registration packet, the audition video must consist of 3-5 minutes of dance, and at least 75% of the team members who wish to compete at Bollywood Berkeley. We need to see what each team will be able to deliver if selected to compete. 5. Teams will be notified of the decision by no later than December 23, At that time, a response will be required to confirm that the team is willing to compete. If for some reason an originally selected team is disqualified or unable to compete, the next team on the waiting list will be contacted to confirm their intent to compete. If you wish to remain on the waiting list in case an originally selected team is unable to compete, please check the box indicated on page 2 of this packet.

5 Requirements for All Competing Teams 1. Each team must have between ten (10) and twenty-two (22) dancers at least 10 and at most Each team is allowed up to two (2) gophers on the team, who are also included in the registration fee.
