3 3 Rockingham Centre Lane Rangers Cheryle Oliver Chelsea Oliver Ashlyn Mohr Joondalup Centre Lane Rangers Moira Matie Sharon McKellar BOWL PATROL PROGRAM FEATURES 8 Week program with 60-minute sessions Interested in becoming a Lane ranger at your local centre? Any person over the age of 16yrs can sign up to become a Lane Ranger!! Lane Rangers are trained facilitators who deliver the program. They're friendly, approachable, volunteers who coach participants through the Bowl Patrol levels. Lane Rangers are selected based on specific skills including tenpin bowling coaching qualifications, experience in working with children and parents, and the capacity to deliver the program. They undergo specific 'Lane Ranger' training equipping them with the skills and resources to run a successful program. Interested in becoming a Lane Ranger? Contact our TBAWA Development Officer Ian Bridges E: ian.bridges@tenpin.org.au Maximum of 3 kids on the lanes SHORTENED GAMES: 5 frame games (half the normal game) to keep kids focused SHORTENED LANES: Modified length to match ability to each kid using carpets. CHALLENGING: No Bumpers or ramps used to ensure skill development 6 LEVELS of ACHIEVEMENT: Progression based on skill not age MODIFIED SCORING: Simplified scoring designed for kids LANE RANGERS: Program delivered by trained facilitators REWARDING: Recognition of individual achievements and progress

Thankyou TBAWA is moving forward in developing performance clinics for all levels of bowlers for the 2019/2020 year. Guest Presenter: Del Warren USBC Gold Coach, VP Kegel Training Centre Florida Would you like to help others to aspire in the sport? TBAWA is co-hosting a Bronze Coaching course. To be eligible you need to have completed your Level 1 prior to November 1st, 2018 online. TBAWA are contributing $150pp that applies from WA towards the cost of the course. To enroll go to or contact them on Alternatively, for more information or assistance feel free to contact us at tenpinbowlingwa@outlook. com and we are happy to help with your interest! 2018 National Coaching Conference Brisbane and Melbourne Along with this we are running a coaching course in WA in November for new Bronze Coaches and hoping to have enough interest to deliver a Silver Coaching Course in late The board will be sending out a survey monkey to members seeking feedback and suggestions around training and development, tournaments and future focus sporting activities. We look forward to seeing what the membership is focused on. Keep an eye out for the survey at the end of the year.

5 6 Honours and Excellence Corner COXY!!!! You legend Long serving volunteer John Coxon has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the Queen's birthday honors list in Queensland, for his services to tenpin bowling. A great reward for a long serving volunteer of our sport! Well Done John!! Congratulations to Lilah Jones & Liam George who are the 2018 Restricted Cup Champions. Hundreds of teenage and junior bowlers from every State and Territory in Australia are competing in tenpin bowling s annual Junior National Championship - a two-week bowling extravaganza that happens in April! Lilah Jones from WA has won the Australian Restricted Masters at the Australian Junior Championships in Frankston Victoria. Congratulations to Lilah for bowling exceptionally well in the tournament Matt Watson competed in the Gold Coast Classic in Queensland earlier this year bringing home 1 st place. Well done Matt on such a wonderful achievement, congratulations! In June this year the Disabilities team went away to compete in the Cole Cup and nationals. Whilst their the Cole Cup team managed to bring home bronze and placed 4 th in the open division. Coach Dianne Milton said the team played hard and has showed a significant improvement in their game since last year. The team also bought home from the Nationals - Gold in A Grade Teams; Bronze in B Grade Teams; Silver in Female Open All Events; Gold in Female E Grade All Events; Bronze in Male A Grade All Events; Silver in Male E Grade All Events; Bronze in Female E Grade Singles; Silver in Male B Grade Singles; Bronze in Male C Grade Singles; Bronze in Male E Grade Singles; Silver in Classic Doubles; Silver in D Grade Doubles and Female High Game Over Average.
