Club 5 CHAIRMAN S REPORT Thanks to all those members who have supported our Club over the past year. It has been a difficult year with new Government regulations, mandatory Director training and legal issues. The Caravan Park is performing well under the management of Gary and Sue Brown, and Peter and Ada McDonald. Upgrading of some cabins is on the agenda and is considered necessary to be competitive in the market. The Board put a lot of time and effort into the selection of a new caterer. I am sure you will agree that the restaurant has proven to be very popular. We anticipate our finances will improve over the ensuing months. I would like to thank my fellow Board members for their patience and guidance during my term as Chairman. Thanks to Secretary Manager Di Brown and her staff for their efforts over the past twelve months. A special thanks to our volunteers who donate their time and effort in running the various Club and community events, bingo, darts, snooker, indoor bowls etc. Thanks also to the Mens and Ladies Bowling Clubs for their professionalism in organizing and running the various bowls activities during the year. All the above are the backbone of the Harrington Bowling Club/Club Harrington and with your continued support and enthusiasm I feel our future is bright. To those who have lost loved ones during the year I offer my sincerest sympathy. Kerry McDonald Chairman SECRETARY MANAGERS REPORT Although we have suffered a loss this financial year of $63,060 we are still in a very sound financial position. The beginning of the current financial year is now well up on last year at the same time. As the Club evolves towards the future continued challenges will be faced and met. I am confident the club will further develop as a community organisation and continue to maintain its significants and reputation to the members of our club and the community of Harrington.

Club 6 Changing our trading name to Club Harrington has seen an increase in membership applications compared to the same period in recent years. There has been major changes this year concerning the Caravan Park and Restaurant. Firstly I would like to congratulate the contract managers of the Caravan Park, Gary Sue Peter and Ada, on the way they have managed the park during the past year. We are pleased to inform members that the Title Deed over the premises known as Harrington Bowling Club Folio can be released to the Clubs Board at any time from the ANZ Bank. We also welcome and thank Steve and staff of Steve s River Reflections, it is wonderful to see so many members and visitors dining in our Club again. Thank you to all staff for your support and contribution during the year. Thank you to our contract cleaner Rob Gornall and his team for cleaning of the club. Of upmost importance to the success of the Club are our members, thank you for your patronage during the year also all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make our Club successful. To Chairman Kerry McDonald and Directors, thank for your help and support during the year. Diane Brown Secretary Manager TREASURER S REPORT I respectfully present the Treasurers Report of Harrington Bowling Club Ltd, for the year ending 31 st May Firstly I would like to thank Diane and the office staff for their co- operation during the year, and also the sub club Treasurers. The year was what we expected, profit wise, but if you add back non cash items such as Depreciation & Provisions the cash at Bank remained buoyant and our long term loan reduced, also Capital items generally unseen have been completed. In my opinion next financial year will be back on track where the Club needs to be, with new management in place in the Caravan Park and the Restaurant, but there needs to be more member participation this year than last, to achieve this goal. Roger McElligott - Treasurer

Club 7 TRAVELLING BOWLERS REPORT The travelling bowlers had a great twelve months, the highlight being our train trip to Tweed Heads., we also had visitations to our Club from North Haven, Tuncurry/Forster Sports and Karuah. Friday & Sunday 25 th and 27 th July we had a return visit from the Tweed Heads (Saints & Sinners) 2 great days with 64 bowlers on Friday and 88 bowlers on Sunday with 5 non- bowlers in attendance. Wauchope travelling bowlers will visit us on Sunday 3 rd August with 80 bowlers listed to play. Our membership has now reached a great 92. Thank you to Club Harrington Bowling members for their support. Secretary Maureen Dart. WOMEN S BOWLING CLUB REPORT This is my last report as Ladies Club President as my term finished on 17 th June. I would like to thank all the ladies for allowing me the honor and privilege to serve you for the past 3 years. I have much pleasure in congratulating Maureen Dart on being our next President and wish her all the best for her term. Congratulations also to all the new Committees and Executive, (Julie Arkell goes into her 2 nd year as Secretary and Pam House her 6 th as Treasurer). Since this is the first year since the change of our By- Laws, we will now have a separate Match & Selection Committee. Congratulations to all members for participating in the Major, Minor, Consistency and Queen of the Green. Results of some of the games were extremely close with only 1 or 2 points often separating the winner and runner- up (well done girls). Encouragement Trophy was not held in Marie Grofos showed her expertise by winning the Major Singles for the second occasion. Unfortunately no Pennant Flags for 2014, however I am very confident that 2015 will be Harrington s year. This year our ladies enjoyed a special 2014 Easter Egg Day as well as Rob Gornell Cleaner s Triples in October 2013 and Toohey s 4 s in November Tooheys Day being so popular another day was arranged for June Melbourne Cup Charity Day once again raised $3000, with HWBC donating $600 to each of the usual five local groups. I was absent for this day and would like to say special thanks to everyone who worked so very hard to achieve this amount, also thanks to Robyn Spek all the actors for again producing a great concert keeping all the guests entertained until the big race is

Club 8 run. Mixed Presentation Evening (Dinner & Dancing) was once again held November Congratulations to all Ladies and Men s Champions as well as the Runners- Up. Club Ltd also combines this evening with their Thank You to all the Helpers throughout Due to wet weather Gantry Fours 2013 was abandoned but everyone enjoyed a lovely morning chatting and reminiscing followed by tombola & 100 Club draw then lunch and home had 28 teams entered and sunshine prevailed. Three Day Spring Carnival for 2013 again had a full compliment of 42 teams who enjoyed competitive bowls, renewed old friendships and made new friends who we hope will join us again this year. The 2 nd, 3 rd & 4 th Sept 14 already has the full 42 teams accepted. Christmas Break- Up fun- day bowls and luncheon was held on 11/12/13 again ending celebrations with a special cake made by Val Richards and the usual gift swapping. The 5 week recess is still proving popular so may remain in As always it is important to acknowledge the help we receive, therefore our special Thanks to Chairman and Directors of Club Harrington, Sec. Manager Diane, the Office & Bar Staff, Greenkeepers, Restaurant & Staff, Umpires, Flagmen and cellarman Stephen for helps when ever requested. The change of caterer to Steve s River Reflections in March and the change of name from Harrington Bowling Club to Club Harrington on 1/6/14 should prove beneficial to the future of our Club. Prayers and special thoughts go to those who have lost of loved ones during the past year. To members experiencing illness, operations and special treatment, we wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you back bowling very soon. Jennifer Kirkwood PRESIDENT- 2013/2014 CARPET BOWLS Club Harrington indoor carpet bowls would like to thank all participants, including a lot of visitors who have joined us for a friendly game. Visitors from all different parts of the area and overseas are glad to see us playing. We are now in negotiations with other Clubs to join us on nights with us returning to them to play at their Clubs as well.

Club 9 We have fun nights with half yearly and Christmas dinners held every year. Weekly prizes are given to the winners and runners up. In the past year we have gained a few new bowlers who have never played before, who are now enjoying playing with us. Bowls start at 7pmevery Tuesday night with names being in by 6.45pm cost $2 p.p. Please come along and enjoy, think of your health, get out and be active. Dallas Willis Organiser HBC SNOOKER & BILLIARD CLUB REPORT The Snooker Club committee through its strong devotion has performed a remarkable job this year bringing in lots of new players to the Club. Committee members are Allan Ross, Les Mulcahy, Lionel Curtis, Brett Parker and Pal Singh. Our Wednesday night chook run players attendance is over 20 each week. Due to our popular Wednesday raffle, the club finances appear to be fairly healthy and we were even able to help and donate to local charities. Our Club championship games are running well on time. In district games due to the keenness of many new players we are able to contribute a second team. Both of our teams are running first and second on the leaderboard at the present. Our 2013 Club singles champion is John Smith with runner up Mitch Stace. As usual our Club organizes regular Gala nights twice a year and BBQ s three times for members and their families. For years our Club membership has been $5 and still has not changed. Our sincerest thanks go to the bowling club for helping us out throughout the year. Pal Singh President.
