2 What is NT Cricket s Remote Red Dust Sports Voucher Program? This exciting program, supported by the Lord s Taverners Northern Territory, delivers cricket skills and activities to your community and region in a fun and exclusive environment, utilising MILO in2cricket, MILO T20 Blast, Community Carnivals, School Cups and skills workshops. The program provides everyone in your community and region with an opportunity to experience and learn some of the fundamentals involved in cricket and focuses on learning skills in a friendly and fun community environment. Participants play in an enjoyable and safe learning environment where they can build their confidence, develop new skills and play games. A qualified Game Development Officer can deliver the programs you choose at a time that is most suitable to your community and region. They will work in partnership with Regional Councils and community leaders to build capacity throughout the wider community, to ensure that cricket is an ongoing sport option in your region. This program may be the first contact participants have with the game of cricket and we hope it can begin a life-long love of the sport. I like playing cricket with Brendan. He is a good teacher. 3 What can NT Cricket provide? NT Cricket offers a flexible range of program options and will work with you to establish suitable programs for your community and region. Examples of what NT Cricket can provide include: A qualified Game Development Officer (with an Ochre card) and a vehicle to assist with transport requirements All cricket equipment to support MILO in2cricket and MILO T20 Blast programs Cricket fun and games suitable for all community participants The delivery of community Coaching and Umpire Courses A MILO in2cricket kit for children aged 5-8 years, consisting of a bat, ball, backpack, hat and t-shirt and a MILO T20 Blast kit for children aged 9+ years, consisting of a bag, hat and t-shirt What does my community or region need to provide? Once you decide to use your Sports Vouchers on cricket activities, complete the Activity Preference Form and submit it to the NT Government Department of Sport and Recreation who will then be in contact with NT Cricket. Once all details are confirmed, we ask for your assistance to locate suitable accommodation for the NT Cricket Game Development Officer, with access to kitchen and bathroom facilities. Assistance to identify a suitable contact person from the community is also appreciated. 4 Remote Red Dust Sports Voucher Program Activities at a suitable time for your community and region, including after hours and on the weekend Delivery of a Regional Community Carnival for participants of all abilities, as well as a pathway and support to play in the annual Imparja Cup in Alice Springs Identification of a legacy project to ensure cricket can be played in your community in the future. This may include the donation of equipment or pitch facilities or the identification of appropriate community members to continue delivering cricket skills and games for participants A cricket facility audit, the results of which are included in the National Community Facilities audit Remote Red Dust Sports Voucher Program 5

4 Cricket in your community and region NT Cricket are flexible in the combination of cricket activities we can provide for your community and region and we would welcome the opportunity to tailor a cricket program for your requirements. Below are some examples of how it could work in your region. A 4-5 week program based in one community An NT Cricket Game Development Officer would be based in one community for 4 5 weeks and could deliver: MILO in2cricket and T20 Blast programs, including provision of kits for all participants A Regional Cricket Carnival for participants of all ages and abilities Programs aimed at adults to encourage community members to be active while learning cricket skills A community Coaching Course A community Umpires Course Programs designed to upskill local council staff A legacy project, to ensure cricket continues to be played and enjoyed in your community One week program in each community in your region An NT Cricket Game Development Officer would spend one week in each of the communities in your region. For example, if your region includes seven communities, the Game Development Officer would spend one week in each community, over a seven week period. The focus would be on commencing cricket programs while upskilling council staff and community leaders to enable the ongoing provision of programs, with the continuing support and assistance from NT Cricket staff. 6 Remote Red Dust Sports Voucher Program The best part was giving back to the game that has given me so much.
