25 How to recycle Box for glass and textiles (this may be black, blue or green depending on where you live) Glass bottles and jars to avoid injuring yourself or the collection crews, please always use the box to recycle glass bottles and jars. No broken glass. Textiles please put clean dry clothing, shoes, towels, sheets, (no duvets or pillows) into a plastic bag to keep them dry and put them on top of your box. Bag for paper (this may be blue or red depending on where you live) Newspapers, magazines, phone directories, Yellow Pages, catalogues and brochures, paper and all white envelopes. Shredded paper in a tied plastic bag then into the bag for paper. 23

27 Your new equipment From 1 April 2012 we will collect recycling from a reusable box and reusable bags. Eventually every household in Cornwall will have a recycling box and three reusable recycling bags. In areas where reusable recycling equipment was provided by a previous council in Cornwall, you can keep using it. We will provide the additional equipment you need. If you live in an area that did not have a reusable box/bag system before, we will deliver everything you need. If you don t now have one box and three usable bags (either new ones we have delivered or your existing ones from a previous council), please call and we will deliver your missing equipment as soon as possible. We have to visit over 250,000 households to deliver everything people need, so please bear with us during this time. 28 Bulky Household Waste Cornwall Council will collect bulky items of household waste on completion of the request form and payment of the charges. This is 5 for your first item and 2 for each subsequent item listed on the form from one address. YOU SHOULD ENSURE THAT ALL ITEMS ARE COLLECTABLE AS NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE. This service is for items that you would normally take with you in a house move i.e. fridges, freezers, beds, chairs, TV s etc. Items that have been a fixture to a property e.g. kitchen units, sinks, storage heaters are exempt from this service as are car parts, pieces of wood and metal, builders waste, garden waste, etc. The following list is an example of items that Cornwall Council will not collect under the bulky refuse collection service. The service is only available for domestic properties. EXAMPLES OF ITEMS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR COLLECTION.
