CHAIRMAN S REPORT I am pleased to present our Annual Report for year ended 30 June The last 12 months have seen noteworthy accomplishments in a number of key strategic areas of our operations. 8 Although player participation numbers are very encouraging, the health of Member Clubs is, and will continue to be, a high priority. In this regard we are delighted with the response to our Club Support Program - which initially concentrated on general operational issues, but has since expanded to include agronomy and government relations. This service is free of charge to Member Clubs and we anticipate growth of this service going forward. It is also pleasing to report the success of the Buddy Club program, which has seen over 120 clubs across the State sharing vital technical information and in some cases unused or under-utilised machinery. My sincere thanks to those clubs who have joined, especially the Metropolitan Buddies who have generously embraced this initiative. As stated elsewhere in the report, we have enjoyed a very successful year financially, as a result of additional income streams and a concerted effort to reduce base costs. This outcome provides the opportunity to accelerate the rollout of our strategic objectives which includes a focus on the promotion of our game. WE HAVE ENJOYED A VERY SUCCESSFUL YEAR FINANCIALLY, AS A RESULT OF ADDITIONAL INCOME STREAMS AND A CONCERTED EFFORT TO REDUCE BASE COSTS Golfers across the nation would be acutely aware of the changes that occurred to the handicap system with the introduction of Slope Indexing and the Daily Scratch Ratings in January This necessitated a rating of approximately 390 clubs across the state some having multiple courses within their property. This monumental task was completed largely thanks to the efforts of a huge volunteer base headed by Director Lynne Ritchie and her Handicap and Course Rating Committee. Well done to all concerned. It is worth noting an analysis of several million scores since January 2014 is being used to test the health of the new handicap system. It is anticipated club specific data, which will include results from January 2013 (when the new handicap system in its raw form was introduced) to June 2015, will, after full rollout of all components of the handicap system, be in the hands of clubs shortly. Junior programs, which we see as the future of our Club membership base, are being embraced in increasing numbers. The Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation (JNJG) continues its good work of identifying a junior golf pathway with the assistance of a successful Schools Program and we are very appreciative for the ongoing generous support of John and Jill Kinghorn. Similarly MyGolf, the national program for club based registrations, now jointly supported by Golf NSW, JNJG and the NSW branch of the Australian PGA, is delivering additional opportunities to complement existing programs. Our High Performance Program, led by Coach Dean Kinney, is targeting our best young talent and providing opportunities for specialist training in all aspects of the game which in turn leads to participation in State, National and International events. The program also underpins a National Program for the best talent in the country. A wonderful outcome from this program has been the emergence of New South Wales players Shelly Shin and Cameron Davis who this year won the women s and men s Australian Amateur Championship. Our thanks to team managers and selectors involved in the High Performance program and Interstate teams events which were conducted in Melbourne this year. Our wonderful game, like most sports, only survives with the unselfish support of volunteers at all levels. Too often we tend to take this workforce for granted.

2015 Australian Amateur Champions Shelly Shin and Cameron Davis (Photo courtesy David Tease) Australian Junior Champion Celina Yuan All deserve our sincere thanks, especially Club Boards, who freely give of their time and experience to ensure their respective members can enjoy their golf today and tomorrow comfortable in the knowledge that the future of our clubs are in good hands. GOLF NSW IS BLESSED WITH A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF DEDICATED, LOYAL AND WELL-CREDENTIALED VOLUNTEERS WHO ACT AS OFFICIALS AT NUMEROUS EVENTS Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer. Sincere thanks to all volunteers. On behalf of the Board of Directors I thank CEO, Stuart Fraser, and his dedicated and committed staff who have dealt with many challenges this past year and always answered the call by, in many instances, giving generously of their time. A special mention to those involved with events throughout the State. In line with good governance principles, more operational responsibilities have shifted from the Board to members of staff and they have as a team responded magnificently. In closing I would like to pay tribute to two special servants to the game of golf in general, and Golf NSW in particular. Bruce Nairn, OAM and Life Member of Golf NSW, has been a stalwart of golf at Club, State and National levels, for many decades. Bruce s contribution to the game cannot possibly be overstated and it has been sad to see him migrate to Queensland (albeit just across the border) to be closer to family. Bruce is already being missed by many and we wish him well. Likewise, Sue Fabian is a well-known and highly respected member of our golf community throughout the nation. Distinguished involvement at her home club Pennant Hills, where she served on the Associates Committee for seven years (three as President), was followed with her role as Council Member of Women s Golf NSW serving on a number of committees before accepting the role of Chair in 2006 until 2010 when Women s Golf NSW and NSW Men s Golf Association merged to form Golf NSW. Sue subsequently has served as Deputy Chairman with her stepping down from the Board this year due to a Constitutional Rule limiting a Director s term. Sue remains a true champion for women s golf respected by her peers and colleagues and admired for her unrivalled knowledge of the Rules of Golf which culminated in Sue attending the R&A Referees School at St Andrews in On a personal level, I thank Sue for her contribution to the amalgamation process in 2010 and the unwavering support she has afforded me over the past five years. In recognition of Sue s services to Golf NSW and the game, the Board has unanimously approved her appointment as a Life Member of Golf NSW. Well played Sue. As always, good golfing to all. Chris Allen Chairman 9

CEO S REPORT The past year has seen Golf NSW direct significant resources to implement key aspects of our Strategic Plan ( ). Our strong financial performance over the past twelve months will provide the opportunity to accelerate many strategic initiatives in 2015/16. This will provide further benefits to member clubs through the expansion of the Club Support Service, the implementation of a State wide marketing and promotion campaign (TV, radio, print, digital, and social media), and further resourcing in the areas of Government Grants and Communications. 10 STRATEGIC INITIATIVES The introduction of the Club Support Service in July 2014 was an initiative to address the key strategic issue of Enhanced Club Health. In the first twelve months of this program, thirty one clubs throughout the State have been directly assisted through the Club Support Service. I would like to sincerely thank Graham Christian, Rod Davies (Operational) and Martyn Black (Agronomy) whom have travelled far and wide to provide member clubs with this important support. Key findings from club operational reviews indicate a need to further educate clubs in the importance of planning (Financial/Business/Strategic), to ensure their ongoing success and, in some cases, viability. In regards to agronomy, the ever present expectation to provide better course quality for less expense is prevalent. The increasing burden and effects of course vegetation maturation on course condition (via shade, airflow, and encroachment issues), and the suitability of course design versus course maintenance resources are two key issues commonly being experienced in the field. Looking ahead, the Club Support Service has been expanded with the appointment of a Government Relations & Communications Manager, Bernard Bratusa, providing Golf NSW with the ability to assist clubs with the attainment of Government grants across an extensive array of projects and needs. I encourage all clubs to utilise this service. The commitment by clubs with the introduction of a Buddy Club program has also exceeded expectations, and I thank the clubs that have committed to this initiative. It is not too late for clubs to be involved with the Buddy Club Program, and I would encourage those clubs not involved to reconsider being a part of this great initiative. FINANCE As highlighted by the Chairman of Finance, Golf NSW has enjoyed a successful financial year, on the back of stronger than expected affiliation fee income, and the ongoing review and control of our operational expenses. As previously mentioned, this strong financial performance will provide us with the ability to accelerate the Strategic Business Plan, and expand our resources to better service our member clubs. INDUSTRY Golf NSW has continued to work collaboratively with golfing bodies across a number of activities. These have included: The launch of a small club benchmarking tool in collaboration with Golf Management Australia (GMA). The growth of MyGolf, the National Junior Golf Program, in collaboration with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA), Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) and Golf Australia (GA). In addition, Golf NSW has continued to represent the needs of clubs through its seat at the table on the Clubs NSW Council. During this period Golf NSW has actively contributed to a number of legislative issues concerning recently introduced Risk Based Licencing Fees and amendments to a number of poker machine laws. At the time of writing, Golf NSW is actively campaigning for State Government to legislate the ability for small clubs to on lease poker machine entitlements. This would allow such clubs, where poker machine revenue is decreasing rapidly, to maximise their return on their machine entitlements, whilst maintaining their asset.

NSW OPENS Holly Clyburn (ENG) and Anthony Brown (VIC) were very worthy Champions in our Women s (March 2015) and Men s (November 2014) NSW Opens. I would like to congratulate both Oatlands Golf Club (Women s) and Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club (Men s) for their efforts in hosting our Open Championships. Many compliments were received from competitors on the condition of both courses. The vision for both our Open Championships is to host a combined Men s and Women s tournament from A proposal is currently before government to assist in funding this initiative. The Men s Championship for 2015 is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before, and will feature a week of festivities and events which will include a civic reception, celebrity challenges, and a Junior Pro Am which will include invited boys and girls club champions state-wide. Six regional qualifying events will also be staged to provide all golfers in Regional NSW a chance to qualify for our Open Championship. NATIONAL PROGRAMS During the year Golf NSW continued to support National (Golf Australia) initiatives including Play Golf Week. Enhancements to this program will see it staged as Golf Month (October) in 2015, which will give clubs more flexibility to showcase their facilities. A National marketing and promotion campaign will help to ensure the success of this program. MyGolf is a National Junior Initiative between Golf Australia and the PGA, and Golf NSW is working very closely with the NSW PGA and JNJG to expand this product which is critical to introducing 5 12 year olds to the game of golf. COMMUNICATION Golf NSW is currently in the final implementation stage of a new Customer Relations Management system which will greatly enhance our ability to communicate with member clubs, industry stakeholders, and both affiliated and social golfers. VOLUNTEERS Volunteers are a critical part of the viability of the golf industry, and during the year Golf NSW has continued to foster recognition programs via social media (Instagram) and appreciation functions. I would particularly like to acknowledge our Chairman s recent recognition as a finalist in the NSW Sport Volunteer of the Year awards, and I know Chris will accept any accolades concerning this award on behalf of the thousands of volunteers associated with golf in NSW. GOVERNMENT The recent engagement of a Government Relations and Communications Manager has been invaluable in reopening a number of Government doors, which until recent times had been ajar. Currently a number of proposals sit before the Minister for Sport seeking additional funding for our Men s NSW Open, with the vision of combining the Men s and Women s Open from Golf NSW is also actively participating in a State wide review of sporting facilities, which is being facilitated by NSW Office of Sport (Sport & Recreation) at the request of the Minister. Golf NSW participation in this project will guarantee a number of grants being awarded to member clubs. Thank you to all those clubs that have taken the time to provide Golf NSW with this information and submitted special project funding requests. 11

12 WE REMAIN EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT PROVIDED BY OUR VARIOUS CORPORATE PARTNERS, WHOSE ASSOCIATION ENABLES GOLF NSW TO NOT ONLY PROVIDE THE KEY SERVICES TO ALL OUR MEMBER CLUBS BUT ALSO ENABLING THOSE CLUBS TO CAPITALISE ON OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW THEIR OWN BUSINESSES.

It is quite evident that there is a myriad of grant and funding opportunities throughout the many different layers of government and Councils. Golf NSW will be working very hard to assist member clubs in securing such funds via grants, concessions, and/or subsidies. CORPORATE We remain extremely grateful for the support provided by our various corporate partners, whose association enables Golf NSW to not only provide the key services to all our member clubs but also enabling those clubs to capitalise on opportunities to grow their own businesses. Our office equipment partner, Imagetec, continues to not only provide vital business support to the Golf NSW office but also offer extremely competitive pricing on state of the art equipment for all member clubs. The ever expanding and industry leading product portfolio of Coca Cola Amatil provides a range of options for clubs to capitalise on attractive supply arrangements for non alcoholic beverages. CCA continue to remain focussed on clubs realising greater yield from such arrangements. We formed a relationship with major international motor vehicle manufacturer, Mazda, which resulted in their prime positioning with the 2014 Men s NSW Open and are most hopeful of this continuing to the benefit of all golfers in NSW into the future. Srixon have been a major partner of golf in NSW, and are a valued title partner of the Men s and Women s Metropolitan Pennants competitions. In 2015 they also recognised all golfers at the participation level through their support of the Men s and Women s Mid Amateur Championships, and continue to provide an industry leading performance range. With the commencement of the Club Support Service we have already started aligning some strong corporate businesses to support this important new program, with the ultimate aim of assisting clubs in the operation of their business.these include Paynter Dixon (Construction), Go Energy (Solar and Retail Energy) and Thomson Geer (Legal Services). It would be remiss of me not to mention one of our long term corporate partners, Club KENO Holdings, who have entered their 14th year of their support of the Mixed Fourball Championship, which provides great assistance in the annual operation of this popular event. To all our other corporate partners, we are most appreciative of the various ways in which each support the operation and development of the game throughout NSW. Importantly, each partner provides opportunities for our member clubs, and in turn all individual club members, to enable access to industry leading products with specially arranged and ultimately cost effective solutions. CLOSING Whilst the past year has been a successful one on many fronts for Golf NSW, we remain fully aware of, and committed to, the reality that many golf clubs throughout NSW will continue to require assistance to ensure their viability and survival for the future. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Board for their guidance and support, as Golf NSW looks to strategically address the myriad of challenges, and also the opportunities, that the industry presents. I would also like to thank the dedicated team of staff at Golf NSW for their efforts in contributing to the success of Golf NSW over the past year. Our staff remain focussed and committed to assisting member clubs and golfers throughout the State, and I appreciate very much their true passion for the game of golf. To our member clubs, thank you for your support, and we look forward to working with you to further grow golf, the game for life. Stuart Fraser Chief Executive Officer 13

FINANCE REPORT It gives me great pleasure to report that Golf NSW has ended the year with strong financial results. 14 The audited financial reports for the year ending 30 June 2015 show a surplus of $800,933 for the year. This has arisen because of higher than expected revenue from affiliation fees and a commitment from management to reduce expenditure. Whilst we are conscious that this is a high surplus for the year, it now puts us in an extremely strong position to implement our strategic planning faster and invest back into the game of golf in NSW. The balance sheet remains very healthy with a total equity of $10.2 million. Golf NSW surplus cash balances are invested in low risk term deposits in line with the Investment Policy approved by the Board. Lower interest rates will see returns fall in year. Further explanation on the Financial Statement for 2015 is provided in the report from the Chief Executive. There were many people hard at work who have contributed to the health of Golf NSW, including our staff members and volunteers. I would like to thank my fellow Directors, CEO Stuart Fraser and Finance Manager Peter Jackson for their efforts throughout the year. Additionally I would like to thank our member clubs for their support as we collectively aspire to grow the game of golf. Andrew Tharle Chairman of Finance

NOTE 1: SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES BASIS OF PREPARATION Golf NSW applies Australian Accounting Standards - Reduced Disclosure Requirements as set out in AASB 1053: Application of Tiers Of Australian Accounting Standards and AASB2010-2: Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards arising from Reduced Disclosure Requirements. The financial statements are general purpose financial statements that have been prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards -Reduced Disclosure Requirements of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and the Corporations Act The company is a not-for-profit company for financial reporting purposes under Australian Accounting Standards. Australian Accounting Standards set out accounting policies that the AASB has concluded would result in financial statements containing relevant and reliable information about transactions, events and conditions. Material accounting policies in the preparation of the financial statements are presented below and have been consistently applied unless stated otherwise. The financial statements, except cash flow information have been prepared on accruals basis and are based on historical costs, modified, where applicable by the measurement at fair value of selected non-current assets, financial assets and financial liabilities. The amounts presented in the financial statements have been rounded to the nearest dollar. The financial statements were authorised for issue on 7 September 2015 by the Directors of the company. ACCOUNTING POLICIES (A) REVENUE AND OTHER INCOME REVENUE Revenue represents revenue earned through affiliation fees and is recognised when the fees become receivable. This includes Capitation Fees payable to Golf Australia as stated in Note 2. OTHER INCOME Revenue from the rendering of a service or goods sold is recognised upon the delivery of the services to the customer. Sponsorship Income is recognised as relating to the financial year. Sponsorship income includes value in-kind, which is recognised as both income and expense in the Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income. GRANT REVENUE Non-reciprocal grant revenue is recognised in the statement of profit or loss when the company obtains control of the grant and it is probable that the economic benefits gained from the grant will flow to the company and the amount of the grant can be measured reliably. If conditions are attached to the grant which must be satisfied before it is eligible to receive the contribution, the recognition of the grant as revenue will be deferred until those conditions are satisfied. When grant revenue is received whereby the company incurs an obligation to deliver economic value directly back to the contributor, this is considered a reciprocal transaction and the grant revenue is recognised in the statement of financial position as a liability until the service has been delivered to the contributor, otherwise the grant is recognised as income on receipt. Donations and bequests are recognised as revenue when received. INTEREST REVENUE Interest revenue is recognised using the effective interest rate method, which for floating rate financial assets is the rate inherent in the instrument. All revenue is stated net of the amount of goods and services tax (GST). (B) PROPERTY, PLANT AND EQUIPMENT Each class of property, plant and equipment is carried at cost or fair value as indicated, less, where applicable, accumulated depreciation and impairment losses. FREEHOLD PROPERTY Freehold land and buildings are revalued regularly and at least triennially. Freehold Land and Buildings are shown at cost price less subsequent depreciation for buildings. In periods when the freehold land and buildings are not subject to an independent valuation, the Directors conduct Directors valuations to ensure the carrying amount for the land and buildings is not materially different to the fair value. PLANT AND EQUIPMENT Plant and equipment are measured on the cost basis and are therefore carried at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. In the event the carrying amount of plant and equipment is greater than its

GOLF NSW LIMITED ABN NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2015 estimated recoverable amount, the carrying amount is written down immediately to its estimated recoverable amount and impairment losses are recognised either in profit or loss or as a revaluation decrease if the impairment losses relate to a revalued asset. A formal assessment of recoverable amount is made when impairment indicators are present (refer to Note 1(e) for details of impairment). Subsequent costs are included in the asset s carrying amount or recognised as a separate asset, as appropriate, only when it is probable that future economic benefits associated with the item will flow to the company and the cost of the item can be measured reliably. All other repairs and maintenance are recognised as expenses in profit or loss in the financial period in which they are incurred. Plant and equipment that have been contributed at no cost, or for nominal cost are recognised at the fair value of the asset at the date it is acquired. (C) DEPRECIATION The depreciable amount of all fixed assets, including buildings and capitalised lease assets but excluding freehold land, is depreciated on a straight-line basis over the asset s useful life to the company commencing from the time the asset is available for use. Leasehold improvements are depreciated over the shorter of either the unexpired period of the lease or the estimated useful lives of the improvements. The depreciation rates used for each class of depreciable assets are: Class of Fixed Asset Depreciation Rate Buildings 2% Plant and equipment 10% to 33% Motor Vehicles 25% The assets residual values and useful lives are reviewed and adjusted, if appropriate, at the end of each reporting period. Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing proceeds with the carrying amount. These gains or losses are recognised as income in profit or loss in the period in which they arise. When revalued assets are sold, amounts included in the revaluation surplus relating to that asset are transferred to retained earnings. (D) FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS INITIAL RECOGNITION AND MEASUREMENT Financial assets and financial liabilities are recognised when the company becomes a party to the contractual provisions to the instrument. For financial assets, this is equivalent to the date that the company commits itself to either purchase or sell the asset (i.e. trade date accounting is adopted). Financial instruments are initially measured at fair value plus transactions costs except where the instrument is classified at fair value through profit or loss, in which case transaction costs are recognised as expenses in profit or loss immediately. CLASSIFICATION AND SUBSEQUENT MEASUREMENT Financial instruments are subsequently measured at fair value, amortised cost using the effective interest rate method, or cost. Where available, quoted prices in an active market are used to determine fair value. In other circumstances, valuation techniques are adopted. Amortised cost is calculated as the amount at which the financial asset or financial liability is measured at initial recognition less principal repayments and any reduction for impairment, and adjusted for any cumulative amortisation of the difference between that initial amount and the maturity amount calculated using the effective interest method. The effective interest method is used to allocate interest income or interest expense over the relevant period and is equivalent to the rate that exactly discounts estimated future cash payments or receipts (including fees, transaction costs and other premiums or discounts) through the expected life (or when this cannot be reliably predicted, the contractual term) of the financial instrument to the net carrying net cash flows will necessitate an adjustment to the carrying value with a consequential recognition of amount of the financial asset or financial liability. Revisions to expected future net cash flows will necessitate an adjustment to the carrying amount with a consequential recognition of an income or expense item in profit or loss an income or loss. Fair value is determined based on current bid prices for all quoted investments. Valuation techniques are applied to determine the fair value for all unlisted securities, including recent arm s length transactions, reference to similar instruments and option pricing models. (i) Financial assets at fair value through profit or loss Financial assets are classified at fair value through profit or loss when they are either held for trading for the purpose of short-term profit taking, derivatives not held for hedging purposes, or when they are designated as such to avoid an accounting mismatch or to enable performance evaluation where a group of financial assets is managed by key management personnel on a fair value basis in accordance with a documented risk management or investment strategy. Such assets are subsequently measured at fair value with changes in carrying value being included in profit or loss. 23

GOLF NSW LIMITED ABN NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE (ii) Loans and receivables Loans and receivables are non-derivative financial assets with fixed or determinable payments that are not quoted in an active market and are subsequently measured at amortised cost. Gains or losses are recognised in profit or loss through the amortisation process and when the financial asset is derecognised. (iii) Held-to-maturity investments Held-to-maturity investments are non-derivative financial assets that have fixed maturities and fixed or determinable payments, and it is the company s intention to hold these investments to maturity. They are subsequently measured at amortised cost. Gains or losses are recognised in profit or loss through the amortisation process and when the financial asset is derecognised. (iv) Available-for-sale investments Available-for-sale investments are non-derivative financial assets that are either not capable of being classified into other categories of financial assets due to their nature or they are designated as such by management. They comprise investments in the equity of other companies where there is neither a fixed maturity nor fixed or determinable payments. They are subsequently measured at fair value with any remeasurements other than impairment losses and foreign exchange gains and losses recognised in other comprehensive income. When the financial asset is derecognised, the cumulative gain or loss pertaining to that asset previously recognised in other comprehensive income is reclassified into profit or loss. Available-for-sale financial assets are classified as noncurrent assets when they are expected to be sold within 12 months after the end of the reporting period. All other available-for-sale financial assets are classified as current assets. (v) Financial liabilities Non-derivative financial liabilities other than financial guarantees are subsequently measured at amortised cost. Gains or losses are recognised in profit or loss through the amortisation process and when the financial liability is derecognised. IMPAIRMENT At the end of each reporting period, the company assesses whether there is objective evidence that a financial asset has been impaired. A financial asset or a group of financial assets is deemed to be impaired if, and only if, there is objective evidence of impairment as a result of one or more events (a loss event ) has occurred, which has an impact on the estimated future cash flows of the financial asset(s). In the case of available-for-sale financial assets, a significant or prolonged decline in the market value of the instrument is considered to constitute a loss event. Impairment losses are recognised in profit or loss immediately. Also, any cumulative decline in fair value previously recognised in other comprehensive income is reclassified to profit or loss at this point. In the case of financial assets carried at amortised cost, loss events may include indications that the debtors or a group of debtors is experiencing significant financial difficulty, default or delinquency in interest or principal payments, indications that they will enter bankruptcy or other financial reorganisation and changes in arrears or economic conditions that correlate with defaults. For financial assets carried at amortised cost (including loans and receivables), a separate allowance account is used to reduce the carrying amount of financial assets impaired by credit losses. After having taken all possible measures of recovery, if the management establishes that the carrying amount cannot be recovered by any means, at that point the written off amounts are charged to the allowance account or the carrying amount of impaired financial assets is reduced directly if no impairment amount was previously recognised in the allowance accounts. When the terms of financial assets that would otherwise have been past due or impaired have been renegotiated, the company recognises the impairment for such financial assets by taking into account the original terms as if the terms have not been renegotiated so that the loss events that have occurred are duly considered. DERECOGNITION Financial assets are derecognised where the contractual rights to receipt of cash flows expire or the asset is transferred to another party whereby the company no longer has any significant continuing involvement in the risks and benefits associated with the asset. Financial liabilities are derecognised when the related obligations are discharged, cancelled or expired. The difference between the carrying amount of the financial liability, which is extinguished or transferred to another party, and the fair value of consideration paid, including the transfer of non-cash assets or liabilities assumed, is recognised in profit or loss. (E) IMPAIRMENT OF ASSETS At the end of each reporting period, the company assesses whether there is any indication that an asset may be impaired. If such an indication exists, an impairment test is carried out on the asset by comparing the recoverable amount of the asset, being the higher of the asset s fair value less costs to sell and value in use, to the asset s carrying amount. Any excess of the asset s carrying amount over its recoverable amount is recognised immediately in the profit and loss, unless the asset is

GOLF NSW LIMITED ABN NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2015 carried at a revalued amount in accordance with another Standard (e.g. in accordance with the revaluation model in AASB 116). Any impairment loss of a revalued asset is treated as a revaluation decrease in accordance with that other Standard. Where it is not possible to estimate the recoverable amount of an individual asset, the company estimates the recoverable amount of the cash-generating unit to which the asset belongs. (F) EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SHORT-TERM EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Provision is made for the company s obligation for short-term employee benefits. Short-term employee benefits are benefits (other than termination benefits) that are expected to be settled wholly within 12 months after the end of the annual reporting period in which the employees render the related service, including wages, salaries and sick leave. Short-term employee benefits are measured at the (undiscounted) amounts expected to be paid when the obligation is settled. The company s obligations for short-term employee benefits such as wages, salaries and sick leave are recognised as a part of current trade and other payables in the statement of financial position. OTHER LONG-TERM EMPLOYEE BENEFITS The company classifies employees long service leave and annual leave entitlements as other long-term employee benefits as they are not expected to be settled wholly within 12 months after the end of the annual reporting period in which the employees render the related service. Provision is made for the company s obligation for other long-term employee benefits, which are measured at the present value of the expected future payments to be made to employees. Expected future payments incorporate anticipated future wage and salary levels, durations of service and employee departures, and are discounted at rates determined by reference to market yields at the end of the reporting period on corporate bonds that have maturity dates that approximate the terms of the obligations. Upon the remeasurement of obligations for other long-term employee benefits, the net change in the obligation is recognised in profit or loss classified under employee benefits expense. The company s obligations for long-term employee benefits are presented as non-current liabilities in its statement of financial position, except where the company does not have an unconditional right to defer settlement for at least 12 months after the end of the reporting period, in which case the obligations are presented as current liabilities. Contributions are made by the company to an employee superannuation fund and are charged as expenses when incurred. (G) CASH AND CASH EQUIVALENTS Cash and cash equivalents includes cash on hand, deposits held at-call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within short-term borrowings in current liabilities on the statement of financial position. (H) ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES AND OTHER DEBTORS Accounts receivable and other debtors include amounts due from members as well as amounts receivable from customers for goods sold in the ordinary course of business. Receivables expected to be collected within 12 months of the end of the reporting period are classified as current assets. All other receivables are classified as non-current assets. Accounts receivable are initially recognised at fair value and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest rate method, less any provision for impairment. Refer to Note 1(d) for further discussion on the determination of impairment losses. (I) GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST) Revenues, expenses and assets are recognised net of the amount of GST, except where the amount of GST incurred is not recoverable from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Receivables and payables are stated inclusive of the amount of GST receivable or payable. The net amount of GST recoverable from, or payable to, the ATO is included with other receivables or payables in the statement of financial position. Cash flows are presented on a gross basis. The GST components of cash flows arising from investing or financing activities which are recoverable from, or payable to, the ATO are presented as operating cash flows included in receipts from customers or payments to suppliers. (J) INCOME TAX No provision for income tax has been raised as the company is exempt from income tax under Div 50 of the Income Tax Assessment Act (K) PROVISIONS Provisions are recognised when the company has a legal or constructive obligation, as a result of past events, for which it is probable that an outflow of economic benefits will result and that outflow can be reliably measured. Provisions recognised represent the best estimate of the amounts required to settle the obligation at the end of reporting period. 25

GOLF NSW LIMITED ABN NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE (L) COMPARATIVE FIGURES Where required by Accounting Standards comparative figures have been adjusted to conform with changes in presentation for the current financial year. (M) TRADE AND OTHER PAYABLES Trade and other payables represent the liabilities for goods and services received by the company during the reporting period that remain unpaid at the end of the reporting period. The balance is recognised as a current liability with the amounts normally paid within 30 days of recognition of the liability. (N) CRITICAL ACCOUNTING ESTIMATES AND JUDGEMENTS The directors evaluate estimates and judgments incorporated into the financial statements based on historical knowledge and best available current information. Estimates assume a reasonable expectation of future events and are based on current trends and economic data, obtained both externally and within the company. VALUATION OF FEEHOLD LAND & BUILDING The freehold land and buildings situated at 1A Duncan Street, Arncliffe were independently valued at $5,000,000 on 15 June 2015 by MJM Property Group, licenced valuers. The valuation was based on the fair value less cost to sell. The critical assumptions adopted in determining the valuation included the location of land and buildings, the current strong demand for land and buildings in the area and recent sales data for similar properties. The valuation resulted in no impairment being recognised for the year ended 30 June (O) ECONOMIC DEPENDENCE Golf NSW Limited is dependent on the club affiliation fees for the majority of its revenue used to operate the business. At the date of this report the Board of Directors has no reason to believe the club affiliation fees will not continue to support Golf NSW Limited. (P) NEW AND AMENDED ACCOUNTING POLICIES The adoption of the following Accounting Standards has been concluded to have no effect on the financial statements on their initial application such that no disclosures under AASB 108 Accounting Policies, Changes in Accounting Estimates and Errors or other transitional disclosures have been triggered AASB 10: Consolidated Financial Statements AASB 11 - Joint Arrangements -AASB Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards Offsetting Financial Assets and Financial Liabilities AASB Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards - Novation of Derivatives and Continuation of Hedge Accounting AASB Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards - Investment Entities AASB Amendments to AASB 136 arising from Reduced Disclosure Requirements -AASB Amendments to AASB Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards AASB Amendments to AASB Transition to and between Tiers, and related Tier 2 Disclosure Requirements Interpretation 21: Levies

The current portion for this benefit includes the total amount accrued for annual leave entitlements and the amounts accrued for long service leave entitlements that have vested due to employees having completed the required period of service. Based on past experience the company does not expect the full amount of annual leave or long service leave balances classified as current liabilities to be settled within the next 12 months. However, these amounts must be classified as current liabilities since the company does not have an unconditional right to defer the settlement of these amounts in the event employees wish to use their leave entitlement. The non-current portion of this benefit includes amounts accrued for long service leave entitlements that have not yet vested in relation to those employees who have not yet completed the required period of service. In calculating the present value of future cash flows in respect of long service leave, the probability of long service leave being taken is based on historical data. The measurement and reconciliation criteria for employee benefits have been discussed in Note 1(f).
