3 PLAY DAY RULES Tuesdays are Ladies regular. The last Tuesday of each month is Guest Day. In addition, we have four Saturday s. Guest Day sign-up is via ForeTees. Guest Day sign-up must be made by Saturday noon. Other sign-up (Tuesday/Saturday) is via sign-up sheet (posted on the Bulletin board in the Pro Shop the week before ) or send to the Tournament Committee. Sign-up for Tuesday Play before Sunday noon Sign-up for Saturday Play by Thursday noon Notify the Tournament Committee by 4 PM the day prior of any last minute cancellations. Call the Pro Shop for emergency cancellations thereafter. PLEASE BE PROMPT!! Players must sign in between 7:30 AM and 8 AM. Sweeps are $2 on Tuesday/ Saturday s (with optional $1 for closest-to-thepin) and $3 on Guest Days. Money is due before beginning play. Lunch is required on Guest Days. Keep up with the foursome in front of you, regardless of play behind you. See Tournament Rules for more information. Submit all suggestions and grievances in writing/ to a Board Member. Please observe COURTESY & GOLF ETIQUETTE at all times. AND HAVE FUN! PLAY DAY INFO Please read game directions and ask any questions prior to start of play. Track scores on the two scorecards provided and compare them for accuracy: Enter the hole# for any Birdies and Chip-Ins in the columns on the right. Write individual gross and net scores plus team score if applicable. Each scorecard must be signed and attested to before turning in. For some games you will need to track your full score. But be sure to adjust to ESC (below) for posting your scores for handicaps. Equitable Stoke Control (ESC) Handicap Max on any hole 9 or less Double bogey 10 through through through or more 10 Points, Putts, Low Net Days PPLN is played once a month. We track putts on PPLN days. Putts can cost you! The first 3-putt is 20 cents and every 3-putt thereafter will cost you 10 cents. The forbidden 4-putt will cost you 25 cents!! 3

D.B.W.G.C. is a member of the Central Valley area of the Women s Golf Association of Northern California (WGANC) The purpose of D.B.W.G.C. is to promote good fellowship and proper golf etiquette among its members. 11

24 24 DISCOVERY BAY WOMEN S GOLF CLUB Standing Rules: STANDING RULES and TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS 1. USGA Rules shall govern all play, except as modified by local rules adopted by DBWGC. 2. The handicapping system of DBWGC is that adopted by the USGA. All scores must be posted immediately upon completion of play. 3. Yearly DBWGC membership dues shall be $ Of that $75.00, $30.00 will be for WGANC Handicap annual dues paid by our treasurer at the beginning of the year. Any new DBWGC member joining after September 1 st shall be assessed $55.00, $30.00 of that to WGANC. (Note: new DBWGC member defined as a person who has never belonged to DBWGC previously.) 4. Application for membership requires a maximum 36 Home Course Handicap. (Currently, USGA Handicap Index 33.8). All present DBWGC members regardless of their handicap will play to a maximum 36 handicap. Anyone who wishes to play on "play day" must be a member who has completed the application for membership and has paid her dues. 5. Special sign-ups, important notices and information shall be posted on the bulletin board. 6. These Standing Rules may be amended or new Standing rules adopted at any General meeting of DBWGC. A majority affirmative vote of the members present shall be necessary for passage (quorum required). Tournament Rules: 1. Tee Times shall be 8:30 AM on regular play days as well as guest days. (Unless otherwise indicated by Club Management or Tournament Chairman). 2. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board in the pro shop at least one week in advance of each play day or major tournament. Sign up or before 2:00pm Sunday. You may call the Tournament Chairman early Monday to add or delete your name (on a space available basis if format of play allows.) Otherwise, play will be at the end of the field. For Guest days you must sign up by 2pm Saturday and will be expected to play and stay for lunch. Cancellations after that time will be subject to a charge for lunch if guest day is held in the main dining room. (NOTE: This rule will be modified at the next General Meeting to include use of ForeTees and new Saturday s.) 3. There will not be a scheduled weekly tournament unless 12 or more players participate. 4. The Tournament Chairman may cancel play due to adverse weather conditions. However, once play has begun, there will be no refund of sweeps money. Such retained sweeps money shall go into the fund of the Tournament Chairman, to be used in future events. 5. To play in a weekly scheduled tournament, a player is required to: a. Participate in the sweepstakes. b. Sign in at least 30 minutes before their tee-off times. c. Play with a club member. d. Be a member in good standing. 6. Definition of Sweeps: Entry fees will be $2.00 for regular weekly play and $3.00 on guest days. (Each will include monies for chip ins. There will also be a volunteer sign up sheet for closest to the pin. The cost is $1.00 and it will be flighted into two flights. The winner/s in each flight will receive all monies collected for that day. If no one gets on the green there will be a carry over like chip ins for the following week. Should play be canceled prior to first tee-off, or fewer than 12 members participate, all money collected will be refunded. (Entry fees for major tournaments and the Invitational shall not be subject to this rule) 7. To be eligible for sweeps you must sign in and pay before you begin playing.

25 8. Play is expected to keep up with the foursome (or group) in front of you regardless of play behind you. 9. A player will be disqualified if she signs a scorecard with her hole score lower than played. An attested hole score higher than played will stand, with no disqualification. All scorecards must be signed, dated and properly attested. 10. Rules for all major tournaments shall be posted on the bulletin board (in the pro shop) 4 weeks before the start of play. 11. Major tournaments shall be as follows: a. Spring Handicap Tournament b. Club Championship 12. To play in the Spring Handicap and DBWGC Club Championship, a member must have played at least four rounds on established play days in the previous twelve months. New members are required to play two 18 hole rounds on regularly scheduled play days for the calendar year in which they join. (One Tuesday Team Play round may be applied to the requirement.) 13. All participants in the Annual DBWGC Invitational must have a current Ghin #. Those with a USGA handicap index in excess of 33.8 will play to a maximum handicap index of 33.8 (36 Home Course Handicap). 14. All Guests playing on a DBWGC Guest Day must have a current Ghin # and all players (Members and Guests) must play to a maximum of 36 Course Handicap (Currently, 33.8 USGA Handicap Index) 15. Golf carts will not be mandatory except on Guest Days and in Major Tournament play at the discretion of the Tournament Chairman and her Committee. 16. Courtesy and golf etiquette is to be observed at all times. 17. Voluntary Hole-In-One-Insurance effective September 30, The Hole-In-One Insurance can be used on a DBWGC which includes Spring Handicap Tournament, Club Championship Tournament, Invitational and Team s (home & away). These are sanctioned 18 hole events. The DBWGC (18 Hole Women) will allot up to $200 reimbursement to that player for drinks only, and the player is responsible for any overages which could occur. The cost is $10.00 and when the monies have been paid out those members will be reassessed. 18. Suggestions and grievances are to be submitted, in writing, to a 25 Board member, and will be reviewed by the Executive Board. 19. These Tournament Rules may be amended or new Tournament Rules adopted at any general meeting of DBWGC. A majority affirmative vote of the members present shall be necessary for passage.
