3 Goals and Objectives The best teachers, especially for juniors, have a long-term view toward athletic development. Teachers who expect instantaneous results and don't value the long-term development and learning of their students don't instill the proper mentality for success. Teaching is about achieving results based on long-term effective feedback, and these results are best obtained in small increments in long-term relationships Our schedule spans our golf season and, as the season advances, so does our coaching and instruction to improve and build upon students' knowledge and skills. We encourage them to play with their peers as much as possible, as playing with different levels of experience encourages skill growth. Our primary objectives for your child are: Having fun in a safe atmosphere Creating a supportive network of golf friendships Learning the game and its rules and etiquette Long term athletic development and fundamentals of golf Help create success and assist in processing failure Organized competition for all divisions Dress Code We ask that you ensure that your junior follows the dress code, as it applies to all golfers of all ages. Permissible attire on the golf course and all practice areas includes golf slacks, or Bermuda style shorts and a collared shirt or mock turtleneck for adult and youth males, and comparable attire for adult and youth females. The following clothing does NOT fall within acceptable attire: jeans of any kind, tank tops, fishnet shirts, strapless tops, flip flops, and sweat suits. A neat appearance and proper footwear should be maintained at all times including shirts and tops being properly secured in slacks. 3

4 The 2013 Junior Developmental Programs will utilize the US Kids Family Course Set-up to determine what Program Level your child should participate. 4

5 For kids ages five and younger, this ea rly childhood golf program is designed to develop important motor skills through use of target-oriented training methods. It also helps children establish a base from which to grow and develop a solid golf swing. Parent participation is suggested. The following programs are designed to provide children with structured learning and utilize the U.S. Kids Golf Family Course Program. Each program level includes instruction and checkpoints in five areas: Putting, Around the Green, Full Swing, Knowledge, and Scoring. For kids six and older who are ready for structured kid-friendly learning. This program is designed to be used with the Blue Level One Family Tees. For kids that have passed the Sharks Program or are able to shoot a nine hole score of 72 or better from the Blue Level One tees. This program is designed to be used with the Gold Level Two Family Tees. For kids that have passed the Golden Bear Program or can consistently shoot 63 or lower from the Gold Level Two tees. This program is designed to be used from the Red Tees. 5

Max Participants: 8 per Clinic Saturday, April 27 th 12pm-1pm Saturday, May 11 h 12pm-1pm Saturday, June 8 th 12pm-1pm Sunday, July 7 th 12pm-1pm Sunday, August 4 th 12pm-1pm Saturday, Sept 14 th 12pm-1pm For kids six and older who are ready for structured kid-friendly learning. This program is designed to be used with the Blue Level One Family Tees. This clinic will help young golfers establish and develop strong golf fundamentals Max Participants: 16 per Clinic 5:00pm-6:00pm Tuesdays and Fridays, April 23 rd - May 3 rd For kids that have passed the Sharks Program and are able to shoot a nine hole score of 72 or better from the Blue Level One tees. This golf clinic is designed to strengthen fundamentals with more in-depth instruction and practice sessions. Max Participants: 16 per Clinic 5:00pm-6:00pm Tuesdays and Fridays, May 7 th - 17 th 6

7 Each day camp will be from 9am-12pm Tuesday-Friday For kids six and older who are ready for structured kid-friendly learning. This camp introduces instruction and checkpoints in putting, chipping, full swing, scoring, and etiquette. Students will utilize the Blue Level One Family Tees during on-course session. Max Participants: 24 golfers per Camp July 9 th - 12 th or August 6 th -9 th For kids that have passed the Sharks Program and are able to shoot a nine hole score of 72 or better from the Blue Level One tees. This camp will introduce young golfers to competition utilizing the Gold Level Two Family Tees during on-course sessions. Kids will receive advanced instruction and checkpoints in putting, around the green, full swing, rules, and etiquette. Max Participants: 24 golfers per Camp July 23 rd -26 th or August 13 th -16 th For kids that have passed the Golden Bear Program and can consistently shoot 63 or lower from the Gold Level Two tees. This program is designed specifically for the competitive student of the game, focusing on improving swing fundamentals, practice techniques and course management. Competitive play during the camp will utilize the Red Tees. Max Participants: 16 golfers per Camp June 25 th - 28 th 7

8 Traditional Private Instruction may be arranged with your child s favorite Dominion Valley Instructor. PGA Members $40 for thirty minutes PGA Apprentices $30 for thirty minutes Small group instruction allows for 2-6 children to schedule lessons at their convenience.
