The cost will be 50 per person including wine and, as the numbers are so limited and these lunches are extremely popular, I hope you will apply as early as possible if you wish to attend. Please return your form and cheque to Kym Ash or alternatively please call on to pay by card. Tickets will be issued on a first-come first-served basis. Refunds will be made in the event of cancellations, provided at least 3 days notice is given or the places can be taken by any members awaiting cancellations, but a Fine of 20% of the amount paid will be deducted and placed in the Livery and Freemen Fund for Charity. No refund will be made in the event of cancellations with less than 3 days notice. 3 THE INTER-LIVERY CLAY PIGEON SHOOT [In aid of the Lord Mayor's Appeal] AT HOLLAND & HOLLAND SHOOTING GROUND Wednesday 18 May 2016 The Annual Inter-Livery Clay Pigeon Shoot is approaching. The Company hopes to field 3 teams. It is a fun event and in aid of a good cause. 4 Merchant Taylors Hall 30 Threadneedle Street Membership & Communications Officer: Kym Ash Direct Telephone no: To: All Members of the Company GREAT TWELVE SAILING CHALLENGE 2016 The Company will be competing again this year in the Great Twelve Sailing Challenge which will be held at the Seaview Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight on the weekend of 3 4 June The main purpose of the Challenge will be to raise money for the Lord Mayor s Appeal whilst at the same time involving both younger and older Livery and Freemen of the Great Twelve in a fun event that is intended to strengthen ties between the Companies. In summary, there are three teams; two in Mermaids and one in a Cruiser or two Cruising yachts if there is the availability and interest. The two Mermaid teams are old guard (Court and Livery) and young guard (Freemen and Apprentices). Each crew takes part in two races. On the Saturday morning all the older crews will race one another, followed by all younger crews. In the afternoon the six best from each morning group will race against each other, followed by the six worst from each morning group. The boats are identical (25 foot day boats) which makes for very good racing. There will be a cruiser race in the morning and the afternoon: this is enormous fun, especially for those who may have lost their touch with seriously competitive racing. It is particularly nice if this could be done in a Merchant Taylors yacht. There will be supper in the evening of Friday 3 June at the Seaview Yacht Club. The racing will take place throughout Saturday, culminating in a presentation of prizes and dinner. Lunch will be available in the Club. Further details will follow but in the meantime if you would like to take part (or would even like to come in your own cruising yacht) please let me know on ( or kash@merchanttaylors.co.uk) to register your interest so that we can begin to organize the teams.

You and a guest plus sons, daughters and Apprentices will be very welcome to attend. The Master and Wardens invite you to meet them at 6.15pm at Merchant Taylors' Hall and to accompany them to St Michael s Church, Cornhill, for the Service. The Sermon will be preached by The Reverend Nigel Hale. In order to assist with the catering arrangements, will you kindly complete and return the form below and send to me by Friday 27 May if it is your intention to attend the barbecue supper at the Hall after the Service. If you would care to be included in the party (which unfortunately has to be small owing to the very limited accommodation) will you kindly let the Beadle know not later than Friday 27 May. Final details of the arrangements will be available later, but in the meantime you may wish to know that visitors should arrive at the School by 10.00am. If you are thinking of travelling by train the School is about 10 minutes walk from Moor Park Station which is on the Metropolitan Line.

Liverymen without a pass will be admitted but there may be some delay whilst their name is checked in the register. It is, therefore, hoped that the number of Liverymen without a pass will be minimal. Only Liverymen admitted before 31 May 2015 are entitled to cast a vote, although all Liverymen can attend. Would you please complete the form below if it is your intention to attend at the Election of the Sheriffs and of the Lord Mayor so that Kym Ash may issue the necessary passes. There will be a buffet lunch served at the Hall for members of the Livery following these ceremonies. The dates for the next Mastership are: Wednesday 20 July 2016 Wednesday 19 October 2016 Wednesday 14 December 2016 Wednesday 12 April 2017 The day begins at 10am with a presentation from the Clerk to all new entrants and their supporters about the Company. At 11am Bindings and Admissions will begin and at 12.30pm for 1pm lunch will be available in the Hall. The Beadle will accompany those being admitted to the Freedom of the City of London to the Guildhall at 2.15pm.
