2 Enjoying Success Once again, Sunnybanks & Faraday Park has enjoyed a very successful start to the 2018 show season. Adelaide Show is the largest showing of white suffolks in Australia. Exhibiting and selling 4 Rams, Sunnybanks gained ribbons all round. Bendigo Show is the largest showing of Poll Dorset s in Australia and proved to be a very lucrative trip. Selling 7 rams, and doing very well in the show ring, we came away with 1 St 3 rd 5 th in the June Class. Sunnybanks also exhibited at Bendigo Elite White Suffolk show selling 3 rams. Continuing with success on home soil at the Hobart Royal show, we won Champion Poll Dorset Ram, and ewe and champion and reserve White Suffolk ewes. Each year we continually strive to improve our breeding stock ensuring only performing ewes are retained. We are selective in introducing bloodlines, concentrating on structurally correct sheep and muscling producing quality sires that will continue to breed on. We AI ewes every year to improve early growth and maturity by using the best genetics available for our clients. Our breeding stock is culled each year to ensure quality stock is retained to achieve maximum potential. We pride ourselves on producing quality high yielding and structurally correct rams which have proven to sire quality lambs showing early maturity, growth and thickness. Paul Day

Sunnylands Charollais In 2015, Sunnybanks entered into an exciting venture with Nigel and Diana Wade of the Capelands Stud, Table Cape which saw the beginning of Sunnylands Charollais.

Both families have over 65 years combined stud sheep breeding experience and have introduced Charollais into their breeding programs.

13 Sunnylands Charollais In 2015, Sunnybanks entered into an exciting venture with Nigel and Diana Wade of the Capelands Stud, Table Cape which saw the beginning of Sunnylands Charollais. This venture will see the first pure bred Charollais lambs born in Tasmania. Both families have over 65 years combined stud sheep breeding experience and have introduced Charollais into their breeding programs. Sunnybanks and Capelands studs are Poll Dorset, White Suffolk and Ryeland breeders respectively. Successfully providing both stud and commercial breeders with terminal sires, both studs believe the opportunity exists to introduce the Charollais breed into Tasmania, giving commercial breeders the opportunity to purchase Charollais sires locally. The Charollais fast finishing and early maturing qualities are fast becoming a popular choice of sire for commercial breeders. Their ease of lambing capabilities makes sires ideal for use over ewe lambs and maiden hoggets. Long carcasses with great loin and hind quarters are dominating markets with Charollais cross lambs regularly topping sale prices nationally. The extensive embryo program began in January and has seen the first pure bred Charollais lambs born in July. Both full Charollais and Charollais cross with Poll Dorset, Charollais cross with White Suffolks, and Charollais cross with Ryelands spring drop lambs will be displayed at the 2017 Sunnybanks and Faraday Park on property ram sale.
