He was considered to be the fastest son of one of Danehill s fastest sons in Lion Hunter who from a limited stud career has left 17 SW including the exceptional sprinter Gold Edition. His dam Advisable (6wins to 1400m) is a sister to Miss Sandman (SP 12 wins) the dam of that wonderful racehorse and Sire Show A Heart. As a racehorse he won from 900m 1200m at 2, 3 and 4 years and was GR1 placed at 5 years. (Close second to Miss Andretti) against a very strong field. BACHELOR DUKE (USA) 2001 Bay (Miswaki-Gossamer by Seattle Slew) A proven stallion who has now really begun to hit his straps and is consistently featuring in the top 10 NZ Sires list (5 th and 9 th ). At 2 yrs he was placed in the GR1 Dewhurst S (7f) and 3 yrs he won the prestigious GR1 Irish 2000 GNS (1 mile). He is now the sire of 197 individual winners including 45 winners in Ireland from where he originally shuttled. He has sired 11 SW and 12 SP including Shuka, Keyora, Obsession, Scapolo etc. His sire Miswaki has left 94 SW and his dam won twice in the USA over 1600m. As a 3YO he was an unplaced favourite for the French 2000 guineas in between a couple of GR3 placings over 1600m. The following year he won impressively first up at Doncaster over 6f and was soon after retired to stud. By the well know sire, Tale of the Cat who has left 95 SW to date. He is a half-brother to this season s UAE Derby Winner Helene Super Star also the GR2 winner Homebound and the good listed winner Blue Exit (his only siblings to race so far). His dam won in France and is a half-sister to the outstanding US sire Dynaformer who currently stands for a fee of $150k. This is a world-renowned stallion making family. His oldest progeny will be 3 year olds 2014/2015. Standing at CHEQUERS STUD, BUFFALO MAN (CAN) 2004 Bay (El Prado Perfect Six by Saratonga Mix) Another new comer. He is the sire of three individual 2yo winners. He was a very fast 2YO (3wins) who trained on to race with success for a further three seasons. Race record ( ) $US505,234. He won at distances from 1000m to 1700m. He won his first two starts as a juvenile before finishing 3 rd in the GR3 Monmouth Sapling S. In all, he won 8 races including two GR3 s and four listed events as well as that he had an additional six SPs. BULLBARS (AUS) 2007 Brown (Elusive Quality Accessories by Singspiel) Commenced stud duties in His oldest crop will be yearlings He was a top class racehorse himself and is half-brother to two outstanding GR1 winners in Helmet and Epaulette (his only siblings to have raced). He won his only start as a 2yo in Melbourne and then as a 3yo he took on the best in winning the GR3 CS Hayes S (1400m) and also ran an excellent 2 nd to Shamrocker in the GR1 Aust GNS (1600m) and was also placed 3 rd in the GR2 Bill Stutts (1600m). He was also four times placed in good listed races. His ½ brother Helmet won 3 GR1 S (Champagne S, Sires Produce S and Caufield GNS) and now shuttles between Darley (Aust/Ire). His other ½ brother Epaulette won 2 GR1 s (Golden Rose S, Doomben 10,000) and was a brave 2 nd to Black Caviar in the T J Smith GR1. 2 CIVICS (AUS) Bay (Danehill Dosthill by Diesis) He is a son of the incredible Danehill himself from the renowned sire line of Doyoun and Dafayna. As a racehorse he won at 1350m 1550m in Aust. Before moving on to a career in Singapore. His grand-dam was the good SW mare Dolka who was by the famous Shergar. D CASH (AUS) 1996 Bay (Danehill-Canny Lass by Bletchingly) Won at 2, 3 and 4 years in Aust. and was a very genuine racehorse who was always thereabouts against strong opposition. (five times 2 nd ). He has sired 59 individual winners from 99 starters 3SW & 5 SP. including Strapped for Cash, Little Alfie Brown etc. By the great Danehill from the outstanding Bletchingly race mare Canny Lass who won three GR1 s and was four times placed in GR1 with herself being a sister to Canny Lad the champion 2YO of his year with six wins at two including Golden Slipper and now a successful sire. Service Fee $2,500 + GST. Standing at BELMONT PARK, Timaru. COATS CHOICE (AUS) 2001 Bay (Redoute s Choice-Coat by Brocco) The new sire sensation from the South. He was a Stakes performed 2YO in Aust. Half-brother to Pillar of Hercules, winner of 2007 Norman Robinson Stakes GR3. By the allconquering Redoute s Choice from a ½ sister to six winners including Catbird and Danbird. (Catbird being champion 2YO Aust. (1999) with five wins in succession.) He was trained by Lee Freedman who considered him precocious enough to line up in the Listed Debutante Stks at Caufield in early October of his 2YO season where he put five lengths on his rivals at the home turn before veering out badly due to a severe sesamoid injury that eventually forced his retirement after only a handful of further starts as a 4YO. With only 3 crops racing he has already left the outstanding 3YO Milo as well as No Choice, Five Coats and Natuzzi amongst his 75 individual winners.. Standing at BERKLEY STUD, Christchurch. DIAL A PRAYER (NZ) 2011 Bay (Pins O Ceirin s Angel by Al Akbar) A well-bred, un-raced, young son of the leading NZ Sire Pins (543 winners, 60 SW, 6 GR1 s) from the very good SW race mare O Ceirin s Angel who won 9 races, 1 at 2, (1200m- 1400m). She won the GR3 Stoney Bridge S (twice) and was placed 2 nd in the GR1 WRC Captain Cook S as well as 2 nd in the GR3 WRC Cuddle S. Her half-brother Mr O Ceirin is a very honest SW galloper in Australia having won the GR3 MRC Naturalism S and then running 2 nd in the same race the following season. He also won the listed Grafton Cup and was a brave 2 nd in the GR2 Hollindale S etc. This is a young prospect that should suit our local NZ bred mares standing at a very reasonable fee. DANROAD (AUS) 1999 Bay (Danehill Strawberry Girl by Strawberry Road) Another son of the all-conquering Danehill from an American SP mare (5 wins to 1m) she being a full sister to US Stakes-Winning 2YO Strawberry A.O.K.. He was an outstanding 2YO (2 nd top cold on Free Hp). Now from only few crops to race he has had 118 individual winners from 218 starters. His progeny include the GR1 Aust 2YO winner Rockdale and Down the Road (ARC Championship S GR2, 2 nd NZ Derby and ARC Great Northern Guineas), Guess What, Dany The Fox as well as SP Outtalimitz, Amazing Sky, Totality, Priority Road and Aris. He was rated Champion NZ Sire (by AEI) in 2008/2009. Standing at HIGHVIEW, EKRAAR (USA) 1997 Bay (Red Ransom Sacahuista by Raja Baba) He was a very high class, sound and genuine international racehorse and has now become a most successful sire. He is notably a half-brother to the outstanding Aust. Sire Hussonet (114 SW). His dam was the Champion USA 3YO filly in 1987 and is by the renowned Red Ransom (108SW). To date he has left 168 individual winners with 8SW and 7SP. Including the GR1 winning mares Ekstreme (Capt Cook S) and Shez Sinsational (3 GR1 s so far, Auckland Cup, Zabeel Classic and Waikato Int S, Habibi (NZ Derby etc). 3 EL HERMANO (NZ) 2005 Bay (Pins Palos Verdes by Oakridge) A full brother to the great racehorse El Segundo. He fetched A$1.2m at the Sydney Easter Sale with vendors, Ancroft Stud, deciding to retain a 10% share in him because he was such an outstanding individual. Unfortunately he never made it to the racetrack due to a severe paddock injury incurred later that same year. His sire Pins has already left 60 SW in a short period at stud and he comes from a family that is synonymous with Ancroft Stud going back to the great Battle Waggon who put their nursery on the map. FULLY FLEDGED (NZ) 2005 Chestnut (Align Fledged by Bluebird) The top colt on the NZ 2YO Free H. He was a brilliant youngster whose career was cut short by injury during his 3YO autumn campaign in Sydney. He commenced this 3YO campaign with a brave 2 nd in the Hawkes Bay Gns GR2 then won the Listed Sarten Memorial at Te Rapa before beating the older horses in the prestigious ARC Newmarket H (1200m). He is by Align the champion 2YO of his year in Aust. who in turn has left the top weight 2YO (2006/07) in Nightlign as well Fully Fledged (2007/08) as well as Everswindell, Coup Align, Out of Align, Pennacchio etc. His dam Fledged was a winning daughter of renowned European GR1 winning sprinter Bluebird and his granddam was by the sensational Aust. 2YO of his year in Snippets. This is a pedigree full of speed that will inject precocity into some of our local families. His oldest progeny will be 4YO s (2014/2015). His progeny include Dufellforte and Constellation (3 rd Manawatu Sires Produce GR1). Standing at FAIRDALE STUD, GALLANT GURU (AUS) 2002 Bay (Montjeu Proud Halo by Don t Say Halo) He commenced stud duties in His oldest progeny are now 6YO and are well rated by their respective Trainers. He was a very good racehorse being SP as a 2YO over 1050m at SAJC. He went on to win 4 races in succession in both his 3YO and 4YO campaigns. From 21 starts (8.3.2) A$677, Including 4 SW and 4 SP s. As a 4YO he won the prestigious Sandown Classic G2 and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes G3. His sire is the all-conquering Montjeu (103SW) and he is a ½ brother to the triple G1 winner Gold Guru as well as the multiple SP winners Gazza Guru and Glitzy Guru. Standing at WHITE ROBE LODGE, Mosgiel GORKY PARK (NZ) 2003 Bay (Montjeu Steluta by Defensive Play) He was a very good racehorse and boasts an outstanding pedigree being by the Champion Stallion Montjeu (103SW) (including an amazing 26 GR1 winners) out of a mare by Defensive Play who is considered to be a prolific sire of top Broodmares. His classic bloodlines are blended with 2YO performances (1200m 3200m). He was purchased by Les Samba for $360,000 at Karaka and raced out of the David Hayes barn from where he won on debut as a 2YO before going on to a lucrative 3YO campaign. He won $639,500 that season. He won the Geelong Classic prior to finishing 2 nd in the Victoria Derby GR1 to Efficient. He was also GR1 placed in the STC BMW, STC Rosehill Guineas as well as GR2 MVRC Alistar Clark S in that season. His grand dam Karma Girl (SW) won 6 races in the US and in turn was out of an Irish SW 2YO by Tumble Wind. His winning ½ sister Akris is the dam of the 2012 NZB Filly of the Year Planet Rock (1000 GNS etc) and his close-up pedigree has recently been nicely updated as well by the outstanding young SW Australia gallopers Sabrage and Pinnacles. Standing at PAXTON PARK, Cambridge HANDSOME RANSOM (AUS) 2000 Bay (Red Ransom Bianca Lancia by Mill Reef) Winner of both his only 2YO starts including the prestigious Black Opal S GR3 (beating Exceed and Excel) and the Black Opal preview (1000m). He is by the very fashionable Red Ransom (108SW) out of the un-raced Mill Reef mare Bianca Lancia, herself the dam of nine winners including the SW Danajaya who is now a promising sire as well. This is the infusion of Aust. speed that crosses so well with our stouter NZ Bloodlines for a reasonable outlay. He commenced stud duties 2005 and has left 116 winners from 225 starters. Incl SW Rememba Howe, Fat Kid, Handsome Zulu, Abeautifulred, Ransomed, Weissmuller and Hazel. Service Fee $3,500 + GST. Standing at WELLFIELD LODGE, HE S REMARKABLE (NZ) 2007 Bay (Pentire Axiom by Zabeel) Commenced stud duties in A fine racehorse, he was purchased at Karaka for $360,000 by Roger James. He was GR1 placed at 3, 4 and 5 years and was controversially relegated in the GR1 WATC Railway S (1600m) when local favourite Luckygray was promoted. As a 3YO he ran a game long neck 2 nd to Jimmy Choux in the GR Gns and as a 5YO he ran 3 rd in the GR1 Hawkes Bay Spring Classic to Shez Sinsational. In total he won six races from 1300m to 1620m for earnings of $860,582. Roger James described him as being undoubtedly one of the best that he s trained. His Sire is the leading NZ Stallion Pentire (588 winners, 42SW, 12 GR1 s) who s left the likes of Mufhasa, Exellent, Zarita, Rangirangdoo etc. He is out of an unraced Zabeel (151 SW) mare who was from the outstanding Centaine (61 SW) mare in Arletty (8 wins including GR2 AJC Villers S). This is the family of Legs, Guyno, Spottswoode and Sixty Seconds etc. He ticks all the boxes to make a successful sire. Standing at MAPPERLEY STUD, Matamata

4 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (AUS) 2008 Bay (Fastnet Rock-Suggestive by Al Hareb) Commenced stud duties last spring. He is a son of one of the greatest current sires in Fastnet Rock who has left 474 winners including 61SW with 18 GR1 winners and he has only just turned a teenager (13yrs). Most of his progeny show speed and run up to a mile. Highly Recommended won as a 2YO at Flemington (1000m) on debut. His principal success at 3 years came in the Alister Clark S (2094m) GR2 after numerous Group and Listed placings against strong opposition. His female line is one of NZ s most celebrated descending from the Spionetta No 3 family by way of the Spi branch. His dam Suggestive was a Sydney juvenile winner and has been a very successful matron in leaving 8 winners to date of which 5 SW and 1SP with the best being the GR1 winning mare Sky Cuddle (VRC Emirates S). Standing at BERKLEY STUD, Christchurch JAKKALBERRY (IRE) Bay 2006 (Storming Home Claba Di San Jore By Barathea) Commences stud duties in He was a GR1 winner who raced against the best for six seasons and always gave his all. A true international performer who won in England, Italy, Dubai, USA and who could ever forget his performance in the Melbourne Cup when he ran his final 600m in a staggering seconds to finish in third place. His career total stands at 12 wins, 6 placings for $2.5 million. He was voted Champion Stayer in GB 2012 and in Italy 2010 and His Timeform rating was 125. By Storming Home who stands with Darley in Japan is now deservedly covering his biggest books to date. Standing at PAXTON PARK, HOWBADDOUWANTIT (USA) 1995 Bay (Rahy Fair to The Wind by Nijinsky) As a racehorse he was a top quality stakes winning GR3 USA sprinter at 3 years, who trained on to race at only stakes or listed level until his 5YO season. In all, he had 19 starts for 9 wins, 6 seconds, 2 thirds for earnings of US$434,812. To date he has had (284 starters for 175 winners) (62%). Out of Queena the Champion 4YO + mare 1991 (10 wins, US$565,024) (3 G1 s). Herself being the dam 5 winners (3SW) including Brahms (Hollywood Derby GR1) now a successful sire himself. This is a great USA pedigree that is Northern Dancer free for a change. His distaff sires are Mr Prospector and Blushing Groom both renowned sires of sires. 5 METTRE EN JEU (NZ) 2003 Bay (Montjeu Delgatie Queen by Spectacular Love) An outstanding young individual who is well remembered for his gallant second placing in the 2007 NZ Derby GR1 when carrying the tag of favouritism. He only had 9 starts as a 3YO for 3 wins, 3 seconds, 2 thirds. He won the ARC Triple Crown Cup L leading into the Derby and was a brave second in the Great Northern Gns. GR2 and was third in the Waikato Gns GR3. As a 4YO he raced in Aust only where won over 1300m before his career was sadly cut short by a severe lung infection. He is by the Champion European Sire, Montjeu from the Auret s own wonderful family with him being a ½ brother to their great mare Saint Cecile who can boast winning back to back Breeders Stakes GR1 here at Te Aroha. His 3YO Timeform rating was 121. He was placed 2 nd as a 2YO in Sydney from only two starts and then went on the following year to become a leading 3YO. He won the GR2 Ajax S (1500m) by 3 ½ lengths after clearing his maiden status by a resounding six lengths. He ran 2 nd in the GR2 Sandown Gns (1600m), 3 rd in the Norman Robinson GR3 (to Sabrage and Sangster). And 2 nd in ATC Eskimo Prince (1200m). NO EXCUSE NEEDED (GB) 1998 Chestnut (Machiavellian Nawaiet by Zilzal) He was a very good racehorse with Timeform ratings of 109 (at 2) 121 (at 3) 123 (at 4). As a 2YO he won twice from 3 starts including a GR3. Then at 3yrs he won a GR2 mile and was placed 2 nd at GR1. At 4yrs he won the Queen Anne S. GR2 (1m) at Royal Ascot and was GR1 placed twice. His sire Machiavellian (71 SW) has also left Street Cry, Storming Home, Almutawakel etc. His dam was a winner and from 9 to race, all have won. She being ½ sister to 5 winners inc.
