British Horse Foundation As part of its charitable objectives the British Horse Foundation has sought to promote the breeding of quality horses and ponies for the benefit of our riders through producing horses and ponies fit to compete for the UK at the highest level. The Foundation also looks to support the improvement in quality of all horses and ponies bred in this country, since poor quality animals may be more prone to illness and disease and become a burden to our welfare organisations. The Foundation has for the past 19 years hosted this Dinner to reward, draw attention to and celebrate the accomplishments of British bred horses and ponies. The Foundation takes great satisfaction in the strides that have been made in the standard of horses now being produced in the UK and has particular pleasure in congratulating all the winners who will receive their awards at this our 19th Dinner. 12 STOP PRESS Breeders Elite Studbook gains WBFSH Accreditation Breeders Elite are proud to announce that they are now members of the World Breeding Federation of Sports Horses. This great news means the UK s most modern and up to date studbook can now grow and become the biggest and the best and fulfil the vision founder, Henk Minderman, had for Breeders Elite when he set it up in Says Henk We are delighted that we have WBFSH accreditation as it means we can now move forward with our objective to become the premier studbook for British bred horses and offer all the help we can in promoting British bred horses worldwide. We are extremely passionate about breeding good horses and we are dedicated to helping others to do the same. As a country we are producing some very good horses, so we must shout about this on the world stage. Breeders Elite is committed to this cause and to offering guidance and support to all British breeders with their breeding plans. Who is behind Breeders Elite? The Breeders Elite Studbook has been set up and is run by Henk and Louise Minderman. Dutch born Henk came to live in England in 1979, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge of continental breeding. His reputation as a breeder of top class sports horses is advocated by Renkum Stud, which he and Louise established over thirty five years ago. Henk has more than twenty years experience running a studbook, he set up and developed the Anglo European Studbook in He also founded the Young Horse Championships at Addington Manor. It s clear to see there is little Henk doesn t know about sports horse breeding in Britain, Europe and across the world. This was acknowledged by the BEF, when in 2010 he was awarded the BEF Meritoire Award for his contribution to British Breeding. What sets the Breeders Elite Studbook apart from the rest? Breeders Elite is The Studbook for everyone who breeds Horses - from top professional breeders, breeding the very best competition horses, to individual breeders, breeding a horse for themselves, and for everyone else in between. Breeders Elite prides itself in being user friendly - run by approachable, knowledgeable people who want to help you, and, who are readily available to talk to you and give professional, supportive advice. Breeders Elite offers studbook sections for all horses - in addition to three levels for the most elite, proven, performance horses, there are sections for horses with full and part pedigree papers, and also for horses bred from ungraded and unproven stallions.
