BACKGROUND The Australian International 3 Day Event (AI3DE) is Australia s premier equestrian event and one of the top six events in the world which make up the World Wide Pro Tour of Eventing - the

2 BACKGROUND The Australian International 3 Day Event (AI3DE) is Australia s premier equestrian event and one of the top six events in the world which make up the World Wide Pro Tour of Eventing - the FEI Classic Series. Much like an equestrian version of the triathlon, the AI3DE is held in the inner city parklands of Adelaide to the same standard as the Olympics, and attracts the worlds best rider and horse combinations battling it out for Australia s biggest prize pool over $120,000 and valuable points for the series prize. To be held from the 13th to 16th November, the AI3DE attracts more than 20,000 spectators annually from across Australia and the world, to watch this exciting competition unfold A one-hour highlights television program of the event is broadcast internationally through Eurosport and affiliates to over 11 million viewers and live streaming of the event is popular world wide through FEI TV. Channel 7 broadcasts a quality highlights package of the event around Australia on the Seven Network. 2

3 ACHIEVEMENTS In 2013 we achieved: The Largest prize pool for Eventing in the Southern Hemisphere; Worldwide recognition through media coverage - TV/Print and Electronic media; 1 hour highlights program produced in the UK and shown worldwide through Eurosport and affiliates brokered through the FEI as part of the worldwide FEI Classics Series to an audience over 6 million; 4 hours live coverage of the event around the world through live streaming by FEI TV; 1 hour highlights program shown Australia wide through the Channel 7 Network; Grant Burge Wines Polo in the Park twilight on Friday after Dressage this was hugely popular and will be expanded in % of our visitors from interstate and overseas; Increased government interest and support of the event; Increased Adelaide City council interest and support of the event; live CCTV feed onto our Big Screens for the majority of the competition; Increased media promotion with partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission, Channel 7, the Advertiser Newspapers, Nova and 5AA, Horse Deals magazine, plus major web based support world wide; Special guest UK based Australian Gold and Silver medalists and London Olympic Team members as Event ambassadors; 3
