1 REMITS to CONFERENCE From Dressage Waitemata Amendment to Rule Intent: Re ID Tags. To make PR details compulsory on ID tag worn by horses at events rather than preferable At all other times during the event, horses and ponies must have Identification Numbers, (preferably also) with the horse s name, and the person responsible name and mobile number attached to the horse (eg on the halter, cover)engraved metal discs or cattle ear tags are examples of acceptable methods of identification at times the horse is not being exercised or competed. Rationale: If a horse is loose or injured organising committee or stewards would be able to make contact immediately without having to track down details through the horses ID Number. If this was in the middle of the night this could be problematic. Contact details of the PR would also mean that anyone could contact the PR immediately if there were any issues involving the horse. 2. From Dressage Auckland Manukau Amendment to Rule Category M (CM) Masters. For Riders 55yrs & over (age from the beginning of the calendar year that the rider turns 55) Remit: For Riders 50yrs & over(age from the beginning of the calendar year that the rider turns 50). Rationale The current age of 55 is in conflict with the Allinflex Masters League which is 50 years of age. This will make the age the same throughout NZ for DNZ competitions when offering Masters competitions or series. This will offer more riders the opportunity to compete in areas that offer masters classes. Many riders return to dressage after they have had a family and stopped jumping. We want to encourage series for riders of all ages and levels and this is another chance for DNZ to broaden the scope of riders.

4 Art Update to include Community Membership by removing Exception: Training Events and Non-Graded competitions at LE and RE s. Instead will read: Riders competing in graded competitions must be full members of ESNZ. Riders competing in training and/or nongraded competitions must be at least Community Members of ESNZ.

5 Art Requires clarification so no inadvertent exclusion. Propose new Article drafting which is set out as follows: Art in competitions and events run under the Dressage NZ Rules : (i)there is no minimum age for a rider competing on a pony; 1 August in each calendar year should be the point at which age is determined. Will also make consistent with showjumping/showing then easier for premier shows such as HOY and another way of encouraging pony riders to do dressage as well as other disciplines. (ii)a rider may compete on a pony up to the age of 16 years; (iii) a rider must be no younger than 12 years to compete on a horse; (iv) subject to Article v below a rider may compete in Young Rider Competitions up to and including the age of 21 years; Article generally needs to be easier to read and interpret. As currently worded, reflects the FEI rule and context rather than our domestic competition context. (v) the age of a rider is determined by the age they reach at their next birthday after 1 August in each calendar year Art Notwithstanding the rules set out in Article above, a competition may be run using the FEI age restrictions set out in the FEI rules in place of the rules above. In the event a competition is run subject to the FEI restrictions this must be clearly set out in the competition schedule.

6 Art Recommend that the reference to FEI tests is deleted and the rule amended to reflect that a whip may not be carried in any Level 6-9 tests, including FEI tests at Prix St Georges and above. 9 Service Dress Side-Saddle Uniform dress (military, police etc) is allowed, with permission to the rider from the service concerned, from Level 6 and above. ESNZ and DNZ safety helmet rules will apply, uniform caps/hats may only be worn by riders 18 years and over from level 6 and above.
