1 EVENTS CALENDAR LOCATION: Westover Country Club 401 South Schuylkill Avenue Jeffersonville, PA Dinner Meeting ~ December 17th, 2015 "Clean Out Your Freezer" Night with CityTeam Ministries, PGC Education, Chadds Ford Artists BOD Meeting ~ January 2016 (TBD) Annual Fundraiser ~ February 20th, 2016 at Westover Country Club *Reservations are required for all meetings! Contact Bill Pascale at OR pascalejr@comcast.net The President s Message Hunting season is upon us and I hope for a safe and successful hunting season to everyone. As I sit and reflect on the many hunts I have been able to go on, I am hoping future generations will have the same opportunity. I have been watching the Republican candidates jockey for position, and yes, I have watched the democrat party debates as well. It is good to know your adversary. There are so many republican candidates, it sometimes is difficult to separate one from another. The message they all are sending, though, is freedom and hope. Freedom from big government, and hope for less interference from our government. Freedom from excessive taxes, and hope for an easier and more fair tax system. Freedom from an out of control deficit, and hope we don't saddle our kids with even more debt, Freedom from government medical care and hope cures can found for many diseases and afflictions that degrade our quality of life, Freedom from terrorism and hope for stability in the middle east. My freedom is the great outdoors and especially hunting. My hope is that it is there for generations to come. As I watched the democrat debates, it was pretty obvious they did not care for my idea of freedom. They certainly were not concerned for my hope it would be there for my kids, grandkids and generations beyond. Their gun control agenda, in its context, is a serious threat to what I love. My real hope is that our next president is not a gun control democrat. You need to take the time to figure out your freedom and hope. When you do, you need to make sure you are registered to vote and make sure you get out there in the primaries and in the November 2016 presidential election and vote for the candidate that supports your freedom and your hope. They say if you want it done right, do it yourself. Well this 2016 presidential vote is one you need to do yourself, so it is done right. Please don't count on someone else to vote the next president in. I'll see you at the polls next year. Thanks for everything you are doing, pass the word. Bill Pascale

It is scheduled for Thursday, December 17, at the Westover Country Club. They are located at 401 South Schuylkill Road, Jeffersonville, Pa. Dan Lynch will be in to talk about the chapters Education Project. If you like CSI, crime scene investigation, this one is right down your alley. CSI at SCI, pretty cool. See where your money is going. We also have 3 artists from Chadds Ford coming in to show their stuff. I met Marie when she was researching Snow Geese, and her painting is a must see, stunning rendition of snow geese in flight. Pam has an excellent wolf painting that captivates you in the eyes of the animal. They all have many paintings to share with us, and I look forward to a long term relationship with all 3 of them. Last, but not least, bring a canned food item, frozen turkey or ham with you for our annual "Clean out your Freezer Night' Cityteam ministries will be collecting food for their food drive for those less fortunate. Anytime, but especially at the holidays, every family should have good food at the dinner table. Cityteam has serviced the Delaware Valley area for many years. SCI is a proud sponsor of City Team ministries. We will also have new and exciting information about the upcoming banquet February 20, New raffle layout, new "table of 10", awesome membership packages for those signing up for a 3 year term and a return to Westover Country Club. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Bill Pascale at pascalejr@comcast.net or call him at , by Tuesday December 15th. Thanks and have a great day!!

5 Brandywine Artists Marie Kirkwood, Pam Julian Smyers, and Karl J. Kuerner: An Entity All Their Own The Brandywine Valley is rich with culture, wildlife, and exploration. These three artists bring an appreciation to The Valley by creating unique scenes in paint of the wildlife and natural habitat within it. Karl J. Kuerner is an important part of this trio. His main body of training came from the Wyeths in Chadds Ford, especially from Carolyn Wyeth, Andrew s older sister. His grandparents were subjects of numerous Andrew Wyeth works. His subjects are his own life history. Andrew Wyeth told him many times Karl, you paint as if you have something to say. Pam Julian Smyers has developed a way of communicating her love of animals and the beauty of nature that surrounds them. Her portraits of wildlife have expression uniquely their own. She has worked with Karl J. Kuerner for a number of years. Her work can be found in collections from Maine to Florida. Pam lives with her husband Jim and their two daughters Mei and Jade. Karl has also mentored acrylic and egg tempera artist, Marie C. Kirkwood. Her love of the outdoors is apparent in the wildlife scenes she creates. These rich and soulful stories in paint come from her personal experiences out in the field. Marie s work can be found along the East and West Coasts as well as Canada. Marie lives with her husband, Rick and their Gordon Setter Ally.

6 Thank You from the PVF Women s Hunt Thank you so much for your donation to our 6th annual PVF Women s Hunt! The event was held on Fri. Oct. 16 and we had beautiful weather. We had 20 gals registered to come with 3 on a waiting list but due to work conflicts, illness and an injury we only add 17 gals participate. The day started with a safety lesson provided by the PA Game Commission and Mark. After warming up by shooting clay targets, the gals went out into the fields to hunt with a guide & dog and a mentor. All 5 groups killed birds with a total of 24. The gals had a nice lunch, followed by a door prize drawing and a group picture. After the picture some gals learned how to clean their birds and some went back out hunting again. Each gal also received an orange hat and a bag of hunting related items from the PGC. The gals were very appreciative of the day and the contributions by all the sponsors. Karen Shannon & Mark Wolfskill
