4 4 Precision Rifleman Lot s Going On In St Louis Score Scene A really big thanks to all competitors for coming to our match, the competitors that missed this match missed some really nice conditions. This is our annual score match paying tribute to two of our enthusiastic hunter shooters of the past, Guy Chism and his sonin-law Danny Jarvis. We had a light to medium steady wind from the west on Saturday and an even steadier light wind from the west on Sunday. These are great conditions for this range and were taken advantage of, especially by Jerry Kloeppel in the Varmint for Score class. Jerry shot a world record in the VFS 100/200 grand by shooting a X. Jerry shot a 30 BR at 100 yards (250-18X) and shot a 6 PPC at 200 yards (250-12X). Jerry built both of these rifles himself. Read more about Jerry Kloeppel s latest accomplishment on page 30 under NBRSA News in this issue. Competitors that like to shoot score matches should really put this match on their list to attend next year. Guy Chism Mississippi Valley Memorial Hunter Match The 100 yard winners were Wade Hunnewell with X, 2nd Richard Hunnewell with 250-8X and 3rd was Jerry Kloeppel with X. At 200 yards the winners were 1st Wade Hunnewell with 250-6X, 2nd was Chuck Hearn with X and 3rd was Tom Hencken with 248-6X. 6 6 Precision Rifleman Tyler Takes New Mexico State 4-Gun & Hemmert Charms the Rattlesnake by Mark Motsko The Whittington Center felt a little like the United Nations, but not the part that doesn t get anything done, as nearly 500 shooters from around the world descended on Raton, New Mexico in August for the World F-Class championship shoot. Since this is the NBRSA magazine, you re probably wondering what any of this has to do with Benchrest. Well, the 52 shooters who came to compete at the Rattlesnake (and the second half of the New Mexico State Championship) were sharing stories and loading areas with our international friends all weekend. Mild temperatures and light winds greeted the shooters both mornings and on Saturday Justin Ross set the bar for the morning with a.114 in the light varmint 100 yard. The 32 other shooters kept their scores smaller than a.3. In the second match, Larry Scharnhorst took the lead with a match small group of.131. Don Mulhall and Glenn Burditt were close behind Scharnhorst in second and third. Scharnhorst and Mulhall remained in first and second after the third match, with Larry Leser and Ed Adams closing the gap. A morning shoot small group of.107 won Aaron French a piece of hardware and put him in 5th place, but the battle for first remained between Scharnhorst and Mulhall, with Mulhall taking the lead from Scharnhorst with an agg of.2140 to.2145 after four matches. Ed Maxwell, Ed Adams, Aaron French and Todd Tyler were both within striking distance entering the final match. Todd Tyler did his best to win with match with a fifth small group of.120, but Don Mulhall held him off with a.129 to with the Light Varmint 100 yard shoot with an aggregate of Tyler finished with a Scharnhorst finished with a trophy for third, while Maxwell and Dean Thomas rounded out the top five. Six one-thousands of an inch. That s what separated one shooter from a clean sweep in all five matches in the afternoon s heavy varmint 100 yard shoot. Two one-thousands of an inch kept this same shooter from shooting all five matches in groups of less than.2 (more on this later). Joe Hargadine started the afternoon off with a.128 to lead after the first match of the shoot. Roy Damron finished second with a.133, and Larry Scharnhorst kept his morning hot hand going with a.144. But this shoot was all about who was going to finish in second place as Damron dominated the next four matches. Damron shot the second match small group of.192 to take the lead, and he would never look back. In the third match, Damron shot a.149 to extend his lead over the pack. Ed Adams took home the trophy for small group with a.126. In the fourth match, Jack Snyder s match small group of.159 moved him into 5th place, but all eyes were on competitor 157 to see if he could keep his hot hand. When his fourth target was hanged, Damron s.201 maintained his lead, but some were saying the scorekeeper could have shaved.002 to keep him under.2 for all his targets. Reportedly, the scorekeeper was aware of Damron s sub-two streak, and took an extra long look at the target. If Damron was irked, he didn t show it, because in the fifth and final match of the day, he bounced back with a.187 to win the heavy varmint 100 yard shoot with a blistering.1688 aggregate. Jim Hemmert took home the second place trophy with a.2378, and Steve Murphy continued collecting hardware with a.2468 third place finish. Dean Thomas and Todd Tyler rounded out the top five. An afternoon rain shower couldn t keep Larry Baggett (shooting on the second relay) from shooting the final match small group of a.162. On Sunday, the winds went from breezy to calm and back. Jim Hemmert kicked things off in the first match of the heavy varmint 200 yards with a small group trophy winning.218. Don Mulhall, Roy Damron, Todd Tyler, William Marsh and Greg Smith all had sub.3 groups. Mulhall knocked Hemmert down to second after the second match with a.290. Tyler, Damron and Larry Baggett rounded out the top five. Mulhall and Hemmert remained in first and second place after the third match with a.446 and.409. Hector Elias Jr. moved up to third, and Walt Berger shot a.269 for the small group in this match. Mulhall kept the pressure on the other shooters by scoring a.432 in the fourth match, but Elias Jr. and Damron were game, as all three had sub.2 aggregate scores going into the fifth match. And that s how they finished: Mulhall s.343 bested Elias Jr. s.445 and Damron s.452 in the fifth match to take first, second, and third place trophies. Mulhall s agg was.1760, and Eilas Jr. s was Marsh finished fourth, and Hemmert rounded out the top five. The 200 yard light varmint started immediately after the heavy was finished

7 as it was still pretty early in the morning. Hemmert started things off again in the lead with a.294. Don Creach and Jim Erickson followed in second and third. Creach s.302 in the second match was the small group for the match and moved him ahead of Hemmert. The two competitors remained in first and second after the third match, while Tonkawa, Oklahoma s own Mike Cordes took home the trophy for small group of the shoot with a.277. In the fourth match, Hemmert retook the lead with a.350, bumping Creach into second place. Rex Reneau and Todd Tyler rounded out the top four. Going into the fifth and final match of the day, and the year for the Whittington Center range, Hemmert s lead over Creach was a mere sixty-thousands,.1951 to And that s how they finished. While Cordes.351 was the small group of the final match, Hemmert s.465 captured a bevy of trophies for the Kansan, starting with his first place trophy with a light varmint agg was a Creach finished second with a Tyler took home the third place trophy. Darrel Phillips, and Joe Hargadine rounded out the top five. Going to the score cards, Todd Tyler won the light varmint grand aggregate with a.2346, Jim Hemmert came in second at.2420, and Larry Scharnhorst finished third with a Don Creach and Darrel Phillips rounded out the top five. In the heavy varmint grand aggregate, Roy Damron s.1883 won going away. Hemmert came in second with a.2279, and Don Mulhall took home the third place trophy with a Bob Brackney and Todd Tyler finished fourth and fifth. Two second place finishes for Hemmert in the individual guns equaled the first Raton Rattlesnake Charmers from 2013 place trophy for Hemmert with a two gun grand aggregate of a Todd Tyler came in second with a.2438, and Larry Scharnhorst third with a Don Mulhall s fourth place grand aggregate was a Don Creach finished fifth. Since this was the second half of the New Mexico State Championship, the three gun and four gun awards were also handed out. Jim Hemmert s final piece of hardware came in the form of the first place in the three gun grand aggregate of Todd Tyler s.2596 earned him second place while Steve Murphy s.2690 earned him third. Larry Baggett finished fourth and Ed Adams took fifth in the three gun. And finally, in the four gun, Tyler s.2801 brought him the first place trophy, while Baggett took home second with a.2949 and Adams.3055 finished third. Bob Brackney and Ed Maxwell finished fourth and fifth. Compliments were again handed out to the target crew as Aaron Snyder and John Horn once again risked heat stroke running the targets and backers. We look forward to hosting the shooters next year October, 2013 Precision Rifleman 7 as the 2014 Rattlesnake is a world team qualifying match. See you all there. 9 October, 2013 Precision Rifleman 9 Bud Schalles Wins 2-Gun at Land s End by Truman Wilson Setting flags Saturday at 8AM and 70F, cloudless blue sky promised a good shooting weekend. By 9am sixteen shooters brought the range to life and as shooting progressed things got hot, both figuratively and literally. The breezes were gentle but switched from right to left. In the UNL100, Bud Schalles set the pace with a.293 for the first target. Then things got hot fast with local rail gun operator Bob Prather shooting a remarkable.158 for the second target and then Larry Leser shot a very respectable.194 on the third match. Utah entrant Joe Olas claimed the fourth match with a.221, with another home boy Dave Gibson claiming the fifth match with a.192. When the dust settled Bob Prather had won the agg. After a substantial and tasty lunch with most of the rib bones in the trash, the temps rose rapidly past 90F and the breezes were getting more vigorous. The UNL200 was afoot. Bud Schalles again lead the pack with a.692 in match one. Schalles also took match two with a.815. Larry Leser from Delta, CO backed up his 100 yard performance with a very respectable.627 third match win. Cliff McNairy from east of the Rockies got a good grip on the tough conditions and turned in a.715 for the fourth match win. Part time local resident and full time benchrest competitor, Lowell Frei read the 100 degree wind and mirage to take the fifth match with a.965. The determined and steady Bud Schalles turned in the winning performance. Sunday was clear, bright and hotter by the hour, but it was a dry heat. Variable blustery winds made for wild mirage all day. By afternoon even the Land s End lizard mascot was fighting for position under the cooler water spout. No one told me that the little buggars have teeth. Thanks to Tom Stiner and Dan Dowling I was still able to compete. At 8am Sunday the SP200 came to life. After several years, John Reiss returned to benchrest and showed us how to win the first match with a.373. Utah s Dave Tunbridge took the second match with a.476. Tom Stiner shot a.522 in the midmorning bluster for match three. Then after many-a-year sabbatical, the newly reactivated Larry White shot a.355 in the bluster and mirage to win the fourth and a.446 to win the fifth matche. Results tallied and Larry White won the Sporter 200 aggregate. After moving the frames to 100 yards and setting wind flags we had another great lunch. After a brief full belly rest we got the SP100 underway. Dave Tunbridge led the way with a.200 for the first match. Lowell Frei took the second with a.204. Then Super Dave Gibson showed us how to shoot an ought with a.094 for the third match. With the help of a few band aids and a cold compress most of the bleeding had stopped by now. And Dowling, if you are going to wear a hearing aid, turn it on, and then maybe you can hear a cry for help. Where was I? Oh, the fourth match was won by Bob Prather shooting a.252. The fifth match Tom Stiner took with a.179. But, for the aggregate Super Dave Gibson took home the trophy. For those of you that wish to submit a name for the Name the Mascot contest, contact Tom Stiner. In the interest of full disclosure, you should know that I have already submitted Fang as a mascot name. 12 12 Precision Rifleman Lowell Frei is Utah State Four-Gun Champion by Jim Erickson August 3-4, 2013 Well, the weather cooperated and we didn t have any afternoon monsoons interrupt our tournament; however, hot days and blustery canyon winds made for challenging conditions. Partly cloudy skies during the weekend did moderate the mirage to a tolerable level, all the same there were no screamers shot and only a few teen aggregates were scored. The quirky personality of this range is hard to overcome on a good day and it tormented us once again. Nevertheless, we all had a great time trying and are looking forward to our tournaments next year when better aggs will be had! Dana Andrus started things off with the small group in match one, a.159. Lowell Frei shot a.223 for small group in match two and Tom Guisewhite followed with the small group for the yardage, a nice.151 in match three. Tom also shot the small group in match 5,a.186. In between, Norm Cox shot a.183 for small group in match 4. Dean Parker won the LV100 by shooting five small two s for a.2286 agg which was well ahead of second place Keith Kirkman s.2880 and third place Mike Strange s After our pizza lunch break, Keith Kirkman started off winning match 1 of the HV100 with a.192 small group followed by Jim Erickson s.157 in match two which won small group honors in that yardage. Tom Guisewhite won match three with a.212 group, Lowell Frei won match 4 with a.267 and Dennis Pendergast took match 5 with a.251 small group. Shooting the only agg in the 2 s, Jim Erickson s fantastic.2990 won the HV100 (did I mention the conditions were tough!) Keith Kirkman took second place with a.3146 and Todd Jensen s.3156 took third. 14 14 Precision Rifleman Light Shines on Hoehn at Black-Out Match by Scott Pieper July 13-14, 2013 Summer in St. Louis Hot and Muggy. Enough said. We got the light gun in and two of the heavy in before we had to turn on the lights. Even though the winds were calm you could tell by the targets that there was a condition that no one was use to. Sunday brought more east winds with light gusts, some got it figured out early and some never did. We had 18 shooters that all had a great time shooting in the dark and are asking for more next year. Larry Scharnhorst won the LV100 with a.1746 aggregate and also got the small group with a.117. After the switch to HV, Bob Hammack took the win at 100 with a.2086 aggregate and Jim Hart shot the small group of.120. Sunday had a forecast of more hot and muggy. Surprise, surprise. We started Sunday off with the HV first, and Ron Hoehn won the 200 with a.2099 aggregate and Chuck Hearn got the small group with a.233. Just like the night before, we kept it rolling fast and finished up the Heavy and got started with the LV early in the morning. Joe Fesi got things working and won the LV 200 aggregate with a.3306 and John Magoulias scorched out the small group at.195. The Light Varmint Grand Aggregate Winner was Larry Scharnhorst followed by Ron Hoehn in second and Jim Hart rounding out the top three. The Heavy Varmint Grand Aggregate Winner was Bob Hammack with Ron Hoehn in second and Jim Gardner third. The 2-Gun went to Ron Hoehn, with Larry Scharnhorst 2nd, Bob Hammack 3rd, Jim Gardner 4th, and Jim Hart 5th. We all still have a lot to learn or remember about night conditions, so we will need to plan more of these in the future. Our next match is the Mississippi Valley regional in October, I will be attending the Worlds in Australia and leave you all in the capable hands of Mike and Julie Walton. Hope you all had a great summer and come back in October for another great match here in St. Louis. Safe shooting and keep them on the paper. 17 October, 2013 Precision Rifleman 17 Stainless Steel Click Head Hand Priming Tool The Feel The Precision The Quality The Ease of adjustment The most unique feature: The CLICK HEAD for Primer Seating Adjustment: Each click of the head equals.0025 for precise seating depth. All stainless steel components with aluminum handle. Includes both large and small punch housing and spring assembly. Concentricity Gauge This type of indicator was designed specifically for checking rotating diameters and in fact is exactly the type of gauge used in the machining industry for decades to measure run out; the very thing that we as hand loaders are striving to minimize or eliminate. st At 21 Century Shooting it is our goal to modernize an industry that has seen little change over the years. Our concentricity gauge is a perfect example. Neck Turning Lathe The floating design of our neck turner and the universal floating case driver allows the case mouth (bore) to run on the arbor absolutely concentric. Therefore allowing O.D. to be turned concentric with I.D. The tail-stock creates a horizontal inline support DOES NOT DRIVE OFF THE PRIMER POCKET. NO PRIMER POCKET OR CASE DAMAGE. for the base of the case. Also allows the operator to keep both hands on the power screw driver or drill. This makes it very easy to control feed rate of the cutting operation, generating a very fine turned finish. Case holder drivers are designed to be the most gentle driver, yet providing an adequate hold.

18 18 Precision Rifleman Van Dyne s Wisconsin State Hunter Championship by Dick Baier July 13-14, 2013 The Wisconsin State Hunter shoot has become one of the biggest hunter matches in the country. I can only thank all the shooters that show up every year to make this match what it has become in 22 years. Fifty one of the best shooters I know showed up starting on Wednesday prior to the shoot. Practice wasn t until Friday, but it gave them a chance to visit and catch up with old friends. By Friday morning they were ready to see if they could figure out the conditions on the range for the two day shoot. After shooting on this range for longer than I can remember, it doesn t pay to worry about conditions on Friday because by Saturday morning everything will have changed and you can start all over again. Perfect score predictions at 100 yards were varied as usual but ranged anywhere from s. Saturday morning the weather was great and it looked like we would have a trigger pulling contest at 100. That was not to be. Twenty seven shooters dropped points on the first match of the day. By the end of the 100 yard match there was a total of five 250 s. This is one of the lowest numbers I can ever remember at 100. At the top was club member Ron Bertrand from north of Green Bay who posted a X to win the 100 yard title. Second place went to Randy Perkowski from Ohio with a X. Randy has won in the past and was looking for another win but it was not to be. Third place went TK Nollan, WI State Hunter Champion to club member Kevin Meise with a X. Very good shooting considering he had not been able to attend any of our one-day shoots earlier in the season. Fourth and fifth place were rounded out by Craig Nagel from Holmen, WI with a X in fourth and Joe Hemkens from Missouri took fifth place with a X. Sunday morning looked like it would be a great day for shooting but that was not to be either. Looking at the flags during the match it was clear that conditions were not telling any of the shooters what to do. One shooter, however, figured something out as he shot the only 250 of the day at 200 yards. TK Nollan from Oklahoma got it figured out and held on to it all day long to post a 250-7X at 200 yards and win the 200 yard title. In second L-R: Randy Perkowski, TK Nollan, Ron Bertrand, Craig Nagel & Chris Taylor was Chris Taylor with a 258-9X. Chris was clean through the fourth match but could not hold on and finished in second place. Third place was won by James Lederer with a 248-3X and another excellent score. Fourth and fifth were rounded out by Craig Nagel with a 247-7X and in fifth was Ron Bertrand with a X. The Grand Aggregate was won by none other than TK Nollan with an excellent score of X. TK had won a yardage some years back but I m sure this title was much more important to him. In second place in the agg was Chris Taylor with a X. Chris had taken some time off from shooting but showed he still has the right stuff. Third place was Craig Nagel with a X. Fourth was Randy Perkowski with a X and in fifth was Ron Bertrand with a X. The traveling team trophy was won by The Intimidators. A group of shooters consisting of three from Missouri, one from Oklahoma and one from Nebraska. The three from Missouri were Wayne Corley, Joe Hemkens and Jerry Kloeppel. I believe the other two were the glue that held the team together. TK Nollan from OK and Don Crunk from NE, a well known group shooter. After the 100 yard event on Saturday the donations from manufacturers were given out to the shooters. We then took some time to have a presentation for Tom Hencken to be inducted into the Hunter Hall of Fame (see page 30). Tom has shot his way in last year at the Hunter Nationals in St Louis and was to be inducted at Mill Creek Rifle Club this year in August at the 2013 Hunter Nationals but he was not going to be able to attend Mill Creek this year, so we got to do the honors here at Van Dyne. Thank you to all the people behind the scenes, the Range Officer, Target Crew, Scoring, Statistician and those who served the food for both days. A very big thank you to all the manufacturers who supported our event with their very generous donations. Their involvement over these many years has kept our sport growing. Thanks to all of them.

20 20 Precision Rifleman 2013 Hunter Nationals at Mill Creek by Ron Shultz Sam Small is 2013 Top Gun The Hunter Nationals and Mid-Continent Regional shot at Mill Creek Rifle Club in DeSoto, Kansas was a very tightly contested match at every yardage and aggregate in both guns. The 250 s at 100 yard Hunter ran 10 deep with Greg Swezey out X-ing the crowd. Randy Robinett with his 25X47 took 200 yard honors and the 100 and 200 yard championship with a solid X. The Long Range started out with some much more tricky conditions and other than the top 3, the scores really showed that. Ron Bertrand pulled off a 250-6X for the win. Day 4 and 300 yard proved to be one of the best days we have ever had in the 16 years of 300 yard shooting here. Swezey, Shultz, Naugle and Sam Small flirted with 250 s until late in the match when the mirage and wind picked up. Greg Swezey won the yardage at 249-7X. The Long Range aggregate went to Sam Small with an excellent 497-9X. Swezey, Naugle and Small stayed neck and neck all the way through. Greg managed to win the 100/200/300 with Tim and Sam right on his tail. Sam took the 100/200/200L/300 with Greg and Tim right behind. About the time I was thinking that, the prettiest double rainbow appeared right over the range. It turned out to be a good omen. A short time later the rain stopped and we had the nicest July day that I can remember. The temperature started in the low 70 s and ended in the low 80 s. It was mostly cloudy with very little mirage in the afternoon. The wind was light from 3 to 7 mph out of the south during the morning match. Kenny Kuperman took first in the 100 yd match with a clean x. Kenny is known to groan out an expletive or two if he drops a point. I knew he must have been doing well since he was being so quite. Eleven out of the nineteen other shooters were able to stay clean. During the 200 yd match that afternoon, the winds became more variable and tricky to read because of thunderstorm clouds in the area. The wind had picked up from earlier and started blowing from 7 to 15 mph. Richard Milton showed everyone how to shoot the condition and ended up with a 248 7x to capture first place at the 200 yd plus the Louisiana State Champion title and trophy. What s more, he did it with his heavy varmint 6ppc. Congratulation Richard! We thank all of the competitors for coming to participate. We also thank Francis Broussard for running and scoring the match. We didn t have a match in August but we hosted the September 22nd Gulf Coast Regionals. You can look forward to reading about that tough competition and a good time in an upcoming issue soon! 100-Yards Kenny Kuperman X Nick Marino X James Mock X Bobby Ayo X Dwayne Pullum X Larry Tilley X Dale Metzger X Richard Milton X Richard Pullum X Wayne Bengston X Gardner Rose X Clayton Gray X Mike Guillot X Carroll Green X Mike Wall X Rodney Landry X Renard Alexander X Michael Louwien X 200-Yards Richard Milton X James Mock X Kenny Kuperman X Larry Tilley X Rodney Landry X Dale Metzger X Richard Pullum X Gardner Rose X Michael Louwien X Bobby Ayo X Carroll Green X Renard Alexander X Mike Guillot X Wayne Bengston X Clayton Gray X Mike Wall X Dwayne Pullum X Nick Marino X Grand Aggregate Roger Milton X James Mock X Kenny Kuperman X Larry Tilley X Dale Metzger X Bobby Ayo X Richard Pullum X Gardner Rose X Wayne Bengston X Rodney Landry X Dwayne Pullum X Clayton Gray X Mike Guillot X Carroll Green X Mike Wall X Nick Marino X Renard Alexander X Michael Louwien X Most X s 100-Yards Kenny Kuperman...20 Most X s 200-Yards Carroll Green...7 Most X s Grand Aggregate Kenny Kuperman...26 Richard Milton, 2013 LA State VFS Champion

26 26 Precision Rifleman Lou Murdica Rules the Range At Yellowstone by Ryan Lienemann On July 27, 2013 we held our first of the year group match in beautiful Billings, Montana. We had visitors from all over join us for exceptional weather, great camaraderie and challenge of the sport. George Kelbly joined us from Ohio, Lou Murdica from California, Jeff Wardlow made the Canadians proud as well as shooters from South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado were there for good measure. Saturday began the LV100 and it looked like the shooters got the bungles out of their system by cross firing when it didn t count on the warm up. After Match 3 it appeared that Richard Lynn had it all sewn up but in Matches 4 and 5, Lou Murdica stole the lead and wouldn t give it up. In the afternoon we contested the LV200 after a bountiful pulled pork lunch masterfully prepared by Tina Cree, Russell Cree s wife. During Match 3 the thunder-boomers began to kick up a fuss causing some distraction. Lou Murdica held on to his lead and wouldn t let go and by Match 5 he was the clear winner with George Kelbly a close second. Lou took small group honors at 100 yards with.146 and at 200 yards, Dave Hellekson with a.294. Points were tallied and Lou won the LV Grand with Rod Brown in second and Dave Hellekson in third. Sunday morning we started off with the HV200 and Terry Hettich made his debut in the winner s circle. David Singleton won the first 3 matches so things were looking pretty strong for an aggregate win for David. Then George Kelbly took over in the 4th match and Terry, who had been lurking around the top five all morning finally made his move when David left an opening in the fourth match and took the lead for the aggregate win. Jack Foster got small group honors with a Lunch was provided once again and this time we got homemade strawberry pie for desert. Yum! Don t you wish you were here for that? Sorry you missed it! It is with no small amount of regret that we had to cancel the August group match as it conflicted with the Hunter Nationals, so we ll try again next year. A heartfelt thank you to Haley, Elena & Monica who ran targets and to Russell & Tina Cree the dynamic duo at Yellowstone as well as Ryan Lienemann. The efforts are so much more fun when you re doing it with good friends. Thanks so much for coming out and sharing in our fun. 30 30 Precision Rifleman * Flash * NBRSA News * Flash * NBRSA News * Flash * NBRSA News * New World Record For Kloeppel It s been a pretty good year for Jerry Kloeppel (picture on page 4). On July 20, 2013 at Benchrest Rifle Club of St Louis, Jerry shot a X and established a new world record at the yard aggregate in Varmint for Score. This supercedes Kenny Kuperman s X shot on 7/14/2012. Congratulations to Jerry. Hunter Hall of Fame Inductee Ron Bertrand from Wisconsin, (pictured on page 23) won the 200 yard LR in the 2013 Mill Creek Hunter Nationals and received his 10th point for induction into the Hunter Hall of Fame. Alongside Ron was Tom Hencken (pictured here) who, as mentioned on page 18 was also inducted into the Hunter Hall of Fame. Congratulations to both gentlemen on a job well done. Good Job Bart! Does this title look familiar? It may to those of you who have been members since September, 2003 when Ron Hoehn wrote an article in that issue of NBRSA News about the great shooting Bart Sauter did at a match in St Louis. It s time to say it again as Bart Sauter has done another REALLY good job. He is one of two latest Group Shooting Hall of Fame Inductees. Harley Baker Group HOF Inductee Along with Bart comes Harley Baker. When asked about his background, Harley says the only other shooting experience he has done before benchrest is groundhog hunting. He s been an avid benchrest shooter for 10 years and his first match was the IBS Nationals in When asked about his new entrance into the Hall of Fame, he says he is deeply honored. Congratulations to Harley, Bart, Ron, Tom and Jerry for achieving greatness and raising still higher the benchrest bar. The NBRSA is proud to count you amongst our ranks of fine shooters.
