2 Dear IOGKF Instructors, On behalf of myself and my dojo, I would like to invite you and your students to attend the Miyagi Chojun Festival I am deeply honored to once again be hosting this prestigious event in Spokane. I have lined up some outstanding international instructors to teach at this event. Not only do have the world chief instructor: Sensei Tetsuji Nakamura, but I also have Sensei Torben Svendsen from Denmark, Sensei Bob Smith from Bermuda and Sensei Gustava Tata from Agentina. In addition, Sensei George Seahorn and Sensei Mirko Buchwald will be teaching. The training will be at a caliber some of you have never experienced. It will truly be fantastic! I have two main objectives for the MCF: 1) To provide an event that emphasizes camaraderie and friendship among all IOGKF members. 2) To put together a dynamic training schedule that fosters growth, understanding and sweat! I am sure this year s MCF will more than meet your expectations! The training schedule provides every skill level and rank the opportunity to train extensively over the four days of the festival. I have included seven hours of training for our younger members age They will have the opportunity to train with each of our special guest instructors as well as training with Sensei Steven Smith and Sensei Josiah Hanks. I have also included a special guest instructor seminar with Mr. Roy Harrington, who will be conducting a Tactical Knife Seminar. Some of you have trained with Mr. Harrington before and will no doubt want to train with him again. The event will be held at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park. The hotel has undergone extensive remodeling and is ideal for our needs. It is also centrally located in downtown Spokane, which makes it very convenient for shopping, dining and nightlife entertainment. It is my sincere desire to make the MCF 2017 a memorable event and everyone s stay in Spokane an enjoyable one. Near nature. Near perfect. It's more than a slogan in Spokane; it's a reality. We have secured a special reduced rate for attendees and their families. Right in the heart of Downtown Spokane, The RLH at the Park & Convention Center is located within easy walking distance to variety of shops, theaters, restaurants and clubs. Special Flat Rate for the MCF $129 per night, which includes breakfast, free shuttle, free WiFi and many other amenities. 6 ***Waiver to Participate in the Miyagi Chojun Festival 2017*** I, the undersigned, do hereby voluntarily submit my application for attendance and participation in the Miyagi Chojun Festival 2017 on June 15th through June 18th, I do hereby assume full responsibility for any and all damages, injuries or losses, I may sustain or incur, if any while attending or participating and hereby waive any and all claims against the directors of said Gasshuku, including but not limited to: Morio Higaonna, Tetsuji Nakamura, Gene Villa, the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Federation (IOGKF) and any and all directors, agents or employees of The Family Karate Center individually, in full or otherwise for any claim of injuries that I may sustain. I also state that I have no prior medical condition including but not limited to heart conditions, epilepsy, hernias, etc. I fully understand that any medical treatment given to me will be of First Aid type only, and I fully waive all claims for injuries or damages which may result from such treatment, whether given with or without my express consent. I consent that any photographs or video recordings furnished by me or taken of me in connection with the Miyagi Chojun Festival 2017 can be used for any publicity, promotion, or television showing, and I waive any compensation in regards thereto.
