1 Dates: Introductory Program June 27 Advanced Program July 18 Time: 9:30am-4:30pm Ages: Tuition: $99 Optional Bike Rental: $35 Additional Includes: Professional Bike Clinic, Professional Guide Services, Lift Ride Amenities: Mountain Biking Gloves (Introductory Program) Bike Multi-Tool (Advanced Program) Mountain Biking Program In the Teen Mountain Biking Camp, Campers will learn the ins and outs of mountain biking and apply their skills on the Sundance Mountain Resort biking trails. We offer two levels of this program, Introductory and Advanced in the sport. Requirements All Campers must be able to ride a bike well and be comfortable on rocky and loose dirt terrain. Campers are not required to have previous mountain biking experience to participate in the Introductory Camp, but they must be skilled bike riders. Teens must complete the Sundance Teen Introductory Mountain Biking Camp prior to registering for the Advanced program. Introductory Level June 27 The Introductory Camp day will start off with instruction in mountain biking basics, including basic bike maintenance and repair, providing a valuable foundation in the sport. Campers will learn practical skills such as how to change and repair a bike tire. After lunch, Campers will head onto the mountain to put their newfound knowledge to use during an afternoon of guided mountain biking. We will provide all clinic materials and instruction for a fun and exciting introduction to the fast-paced sport of mountain biking. Advanced Level July 18 The Advanced Camp day will build on the foundation from the Introductory Level. We will begin the day with a review of the bike care and maintenance skills. Campers will learn more about

2 becoming a self-sufficient rider by discussing how to address emergent on the trail problems such as derailleur adjustments, troubleshooting brake issues and how to repair a broken chain. After learning these useful techniques, Campers will be fitted with an appropriate bike and will review fundamental riding skills. Guides will assign campers to riding groups based on ability and groups will continue through biking skills progression on the Sundance trails. Campers will learn how to handle more advanced and technical terrain and be exposed to a variety of riding and training styles. Those who are interested in learning about racing will have the unique opportunity to work with a downhill racing coach who will provide an introduction to the sport of downhill racing and training. Location Campers will check in and out at the Teen Camp Center located near Jake s Lift at the upper parking lot. Throughout the day, Campers will participate in activities in the Teen Camp Center, around the Resort base and will spend time biking on the Sundance mountain biking trail system. Teen Camp Leaders & Guides The Teen Mountain Biking Camp is managed by the Sundance Kids Camp Director and facilitated by a Teen Camp staffer, who is experienced in leading a variety of outdoor group adventures. Throughout the day, Campers will learn from experienced mountain biking guides in small riding groups. Bike Rental & Helmets Campers may either rent bikes from (SMO) at an additional cost or bring their own bikes from home. Campers who rent a bike from SMO will each be fitted with a protective helmet. Campers who bring their own bikes must have an appropriate biking helmet which must be worn at all times during the ride. Biking outings may include a ride on the chair lifts.
