2 Shredfest 2017 Get up early and join Sevenoaks Youth and the leaders on Saturday, February 4 for a memorable day of tubing, skiing, or snowboarding at Manning Park Resort. Cost $45 per student if tubing $65 per student if skiing or snowboarding (with own equipment) $85 per student if skiing or snowboarding (with rental) *No lessons available please tube if you are not able to get down the mountain on your own* Transportation We will ride there and back in a professionally driven bus 8:00am Depart from the Sevenoaks Alliance front parking lot 8:00pm Return to the Sevenoaks Alliance front parking lot What to Bring Winter clothing for a mountainous climate Your ski or snowboard gear (Please protect your head by wearing a helmet they are included in the rental fee) A bag lunch or money to buy food at the lodge Dry clothes for the drive home Money for a fast food dinner in Hope on the way home (McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Triple O s) Contact Pastor Tim at tolson@sevenoaks.org Office: Cell: Please read, fill out, and sign the attached forms -- the Yearly Acknowledgment/Permission form (if you have not filled one out for this ministry year), the Shredfest 2017 Supplementary form, and the Manning Park Alpine Registration form -- and return them along with the registration fee to Sevenoaks by Wednesday, January 25 to reserve your spot! Registrations received after the 25 th may not be accepted. Cheques should be made payable to Sevenoaks Alliance Church.

Travelling back, the bus will take Highway 1 West until Hope, where it will stop for dinner (the students can eat at McDonald s, Tim Hortons, or Triple O s). Specifics of the Activity: Option of Tubing, Skiing, or Snowboarding Special Information: It is advisable: 1) that participants bring extra warm clothes as winter conditions change quickly, 2) that they pack extra snacks, 3) that they assure the safety and condition of their equipment (should they be skiing or snowboarding), and 4) that they participate within their ability. Participating Staff or Volunteers: Pastor Tim Olson and youth leaders ALL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES HAVE RISKS. TUBING, SNOW SKIING, AND SNOWBOARDING ARE CONSIDERED TO BE HIGHER RISK ACTIVITIES. PHYSICAL RISKS AND HAZARDS INHERENT IN THESE ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: extreme exposure to mountainous weather and terrain causing hypothermia; falling, colliding with trees or natural elements, colliding with others on the hill, being struck by tubes and other equipment, encounters with snowmobiles and/or other motor vehicles and equipment, lift loading, unloading, and riding, and equipment failure; any of which may lead to mental distress or physical injury, including: paraplegia, quadriplegia, broken bones, sprains, even possible death. Understanding the above risks, I voluntarily agree to allow my child to travel on the bus and to participate in this event. By voluntarily allowing participation, I acknowledge that I am exposing my child to the inherent risks and hazards listed above; and I agree to accept all risks and hazards and be responsible for any injury or other loss which may occur during the participation of my child.
