4 August 2016 Issue Page 4 Presidents MESSAGE Mike White The August meeting opened with 48 in attendance. We welcomed our return guests Harry & Lawanda Williams from Nederland. Also returning guests Darrin & Cindy Nepinsky. Darrin is President of the Contraband Corvette Club in Lake Charles, Louisiana and by the way Darrin & Cindy are newlyweds. Congratulations guys! Yes, July was very hot, especially in Austin at the Corvette Invasion at Circuit of America s. We had 14 cars caravan from our area to the event thanks to Glenn Judice. He did a great job organizing our group, thanks again Glenn. There were over 550 corvettes at the event and the Tri-City Corvette Club took 2 awards - Rod Johnstone and Mike White. According to some members it was Rod s detailing methods and Mike s new friends that helped with their success in winning. August will be just as hot but we have a big group going to the Galveston Run. Thanks to John Decker for organizing this event. You can see details in the VP report. Chip Majors, our Treasurer, and Viv were not at the meeting, they were out of town in Indiana. Chip stated the club was still in great shape financially and was still waiting on some annual membership dues. He wanted me to remind everyone that club dues were due June 1. If you are not sure that you have paid your dues, let us know and we will check it for you on our records. Sad news: members Bryan & Kerri Serafino - Kerri lost her Step Father this week. Please keep Kerri, Bryan and family in your prayers. If you have any information for the newsletter like car show awards and photos please them to Jane Barron at jbarron@c-l-law.com Thanks Mike White - President
