4 PM Narendra Modi on April 29, 2018 announced that April 28 will be remembered as a historic day in the development journey of India as on this day, every single village of India was electrified. The achievement came several days before the deadline set by PM Modi, which was May 10, 2018, for achieving the electrification of all un-electrified villages. Leisang, a village in central Manipur's Senapati district, was the last one to receive electricity under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). Out of 18,452 villages that were without electricity in 2015, 17,181 have been electrified. The others are either uninhabited or classified as grazing reserves.

7 For first time, arch rivals India and Pakistan are taking part in Peace Mission, a multi-nation counter-terror exercise in Russia to be held in September The military exercise is going to take place under the framework of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). India s participation at exercise was confirmed by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during meeting of SCO Defence Ministers meeting held in Beijing China in April 2018.

8 Peace Mission Peace Mission counter-terror military exercise will be held in the Ural mountains of Russia and almost all SCO member countries are Taking part in it. Its main aim is to enhance counter-terror cooperation among the eight SCO member countries. It will be for first time since Independence that India and Pakistan will both be part of military exercise, though armies of two arch rival neighbouring countries have worked together in UN peacekeeping missions.

10 PM Oli said that messages of Buddha always guide in pursuant to peace, tolerance and harmony. Participants from more than 20 countries including India attended two day conference. It was organised as part of 2562nd Buddha Jayanti celebrations. The basic objective of the conference was to disseminate teachings of Gautam Buddha and spread the messages of nonviolence, brotherhood, co-existence, love and peace to the international community.

14 HDFC Bank launched IRA 2.0, its interactive humanoid at the Koramangala Branch in Bengaluru. The interactive humanoid in its advance version is aimed to enhance user experience for customers visiting in the branch. HDFC Bank has developed IRA (Interactive Robotic Assistant) 2.0 in collaboration with its technology partners Invento Makerspaces and Senseforth Technologies. It became the first bank in India to introduce a humanoid IRA 1.0 for customer service at the Kamala Mills Branch in Mumbai. Currently, IRA 1.0 is stationed at the Palarivattom Branch in Kochi.

28 One97 Communications Limited, the owner of digital payment major, Paytm, announced the launch of its offline payments solution - the Paytm Tap Card, in line with the company's vision to provide seamless payments solutions for noninternet customers. This card uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable safe and convenient digital payments, completely offline at Paytmissued, NFC PoS terminals, in under a second. To make payments, users can add money from their Paytm account by scanning the QR code on the Tap Card and by authenticating it at any of the add value machines (AVM).

37 Gujarati poet, playwright and academic Sitanshu Yashaschandra was selected for 2017 Saraswati Samman for his collection of verses (poetry) titled Vakhar published in It was 27 edition of the award. Sitanshu Yashaschandra was born in 1941 in Gujarat s Bhuj district. He has three poetry collections Odysseusnu Halesu, Jatayu, and Vakhar to his credit. He is also a recipient of the Padma Shri and Sahitya Akademi Award.

The 63rd-ranked Tsitsipas was trying to become the first Greek to win an ATP Tour title. He was the first Greek to make it to an ATP final since Nicholas Kalogeropoulos in 1973.Tsitsipas was the youngest finalist in Barcelona since 2005.
