Intolerance breeds on provocation, once provoked one can be tolerant or intolerant. The matter is more decided based on the past experience, current environment, your current position in the society. However, there is another aspect that remains neglected in this debate. Known for setting a World Record for highest altitude gained travelling in a hot air balloon at the age of 67. Dr. Singhania is also philanthropist, a keen photographer and he loves teaching. He was a professor at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, teaching post-graduate students. Ravanahatha The Ravanahatha is an ancient bowed violin, once popular in Western India and Sri Lanka. It is an ancient Indian stringed musical instrument on which western stringed musical instruments such as the violin and viola were later based. Mythology credits its creation to Ravana from Ramayana. Hanuman picked up a ravanahatha and returned to North India. It is still played in Rajasthan. The ravanhatha was played on one string which was 22 inches long encompassing the 3 Octaves. Throughout the history of Medieval India, the kings were patrons of music; this helped in increased popularity of ravanhatha among royal families. In Rajasthan and Gujarat, it was the first musical instrument to be learned by princes. The Sangit tradition of Rajasthan further helped in popularizing ravanhatta among ladies as well. Bajra ki khichdi Ingredients: 1/2 cup bajra (black millet), soaked for 8 hours and drained 1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow gram), washed and drained salt to taste 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) 1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing) 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) How to make Combine the bajra, moong dal, salt and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and pressure cook for 4 whistles. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Keep aside. Heat the ghee in a deep non-stick pan and add the cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida and turmeric powder and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds. Add the cooked bajra-moong dal mixture and little salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Serve immediately with additional ghee on top.

This is especially true during the winter months, when the temperatures drop, the sky turns dark, and the wind seems to start pushing you back indoors to the warmth of your couch. There are plenty of ways to be active in fall and winter, even if the weather turns cold. You can stay in shape and have fun while you're at it. Here are some ideas: Go for walks at the mall with a friend. Local schools and churches may have indoor gyms where you can walk. You may want to buy a pedometer from a sporting goods store. You can use it to count your steps. This will help motivate you to walk more. Take the stairs and fit in walk breaks whenever you can. This will give you extra activity, even on a busy day. Remember this quote by Joan Welsch and take the stairs, A man s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time pills or stairs. Work out with your mobile device. Download an app(s) or video(s) for your mobile device (ipad, iphone, etc.) or watch an online video that will help you get moving. Some of these may be especially helpful when you are traveling and staying in a hotel or with friends. Avoid workouts with lots of noisy activity that can bring management to your hotel door. Use your favorite search engine or check with the app store for your mobile device to find apps and videos that inspire you. Get involved in sports leagues in your community or at work. Many cities offer indoor sports like basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, or swimming. Sign up for activities at your local community centre. This will allow you to choose from a wide variety of classes from aerobics and badminton to basketball and yoga. Get wet. Find a local indoor pool. Try swimming, water aerobics, or even just walking or running laps in the water. Visit a library. Sign out free exercise DVDs, including dance, step, aerobics and Pilates programs. When returning a DVD, choose another kind of exercise to keep you motivated. If you have an MP3 player, you can download audio routines from the Internet. This can be a fun way to stay in shape at home. Do active housework like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, doing laundry, or washing the windows. You can stay active while you keep your home looking good. Rake leaves or do other yard work. Bundle up, and take the dog for a walk. This can help you make walks part of your daily routine. Look for a holiday fun run. Fun runs are often held over the holidays. There is usually a small fee and they re open to everyone from runners to people who meander along the trail with friends. They are usually 5K runs (3.1 miles). Get in the back of the pack when starting if you plan to set a more leisurely pace. Invite your friends and plan on an outing with coffee or a meal together afterwards. You will feel better physically and mentally for it. Build activity into family visits and outings. Encourage house guests to bring workout clothes suitable for walking or perhaps activities at a local health club. My sisters came with running/walking shoes and outdoor wear; we managed three brisk 2-mile walks during a five day visit. An added benefit: By getting outside, we couldn't eat all the holiday leftovers lurking in the house. Fly with wheels (or a backpack). If you're flying during the holidays, use the time between flights to get in some activity. If time allows, walk to a far-away gate.wait at your gate until you can board your flight. If you are lugging carryon luggage, make it easier and more comfortable to move by using a wheeled suitcase or a backpack. Gone are the days when we were reminded of not to leave food on the plates. Cities are falling short of land for filling the waste in the landfills. Some of us would like to contribute to reduce the burden but then where to keep the waste arsing from vegetables before cooking. While the dry waste like Newspaper, Plastic Bottles etc. are easy to recycle waste is a big problem. When we dispose our food wastes, vegetable cuttings etc in plastic bags is even bigger a problem to sort out. Is there a solution, can we do something that is easy to implement and can help to solve this problem. YES... COMPOSTING AT HOME IS A VIABLE SOLUTION Composting is an inexpensive, natural process that transforms your kitchen and garden waste into a valuable and nutrient rich food for your garden. It's easy to make and use. Benefits of Composting Enriches soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests. Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers. Reduces methane emissions from landfills and lowers your carbon footprint. Encourages the production of beneficial bacteria and fungi that break down organic matter to create humus, a rich nutrient-filled material. Requirements for setting up the composting unit in your apartment or at your Garden A Pot or the Plastic container, with small holes in side, a large hole at the side bottom Coco pete with microbes (De grade powder), you can use normal soil mixed with Sawdust. Cocopete is Coconut fiber Kitchen waste Methodology: Add a newspaper sheet at the bottom of the pot Add all your kitchen waste in the pot each day, remember to remove as much water as possible DO NOT add the Hard Items like Coconut shell, hard Seeds, Bones etc as it will take time to digest Add the Cocopete or soil with sawdust, this will eliminate smell, facilitate organic waste coversion There testing microbes available in market that speed up composting process You can also add the dry leaves, no need to stir Keep the Newspaper sheet and cover the lid, if the mix is very dry sprinkle water Stop adding kitchen waste in the pot if it is full, start with a new one It reduces to half in less than a week after Sweet smelling black gold after 40 days. Leave it out to dry for one day in the open on a sheet of paper Sieve and use to enrich soil. The leftovers can be added back to pot Avoid Common Mistakes Don t start too small. The breakdown process needs a critical mass in order to do its job. However, certain bins work well for small amounts of material, so choose a product for your specific needs. Keep things moist. It s easy to walk away and forget that there s an active process going on, so check the pile regularly, especially during hot, dry weather Don t depend on one material. A combination of different textures and nutrients created by the disintegration of many different plants will give your plants a gourmet diet
