3 Registration The late registration fee is charged when payment is received by the school beyond the closing date for registration. This closing date is after the first evening of class in a particular term. Students shall be deemed in good academic standing unless they have a cumulative GPA of less than 3.0. Any student who fails to maintain a 3.0 will be placed on academic probation for two terms. If probation is not removed at the end of the two terms, the student may be suspended from the program. Students who have reason to believe that there has been an error in assigning a grade may formally protest and invoke the Grade Appeal Procedure. Seminar/Defense Attendance Requirements: As part of the core curriculum, all students in the MS and PhD programs are required to attend a minimum of 8 seminars. Distance students can fulfill this requirement through Blackboard class management system (e.g., Collaborate, and Tegrity). Capstone/Thesis Credit registration Commencement of the MS capstone/thesis may begin only after the MS student has an approved proposal. Students not yet having approved thesis topics or proposals, but desiring to prepare them under guidance, should register for directed independent study credits under their major professors section of the appropriate course number (OCMB-0796, CZMT-0775, MEVS BMME-7020).
