1 Team Alberta Summer Program 2018 Pan Pacific Tournament Auckland, New Zealand Alberta Water Polo Association is excited to release details about the 2018 Team Alberta program. With an eventful summer ahead, this document contains important announcements for the summer such as the coaching staff, athlete long-lists, travel dates, June training details, and fundraising initiatives. Coaching Staff With a diverse group of coaches making up the 2018 staff, this summer athletes will have the opportunity to work with coaches from around the province. With five Alberta clubs represented on the coaching team, the 2018 coaches have Senior National Team, Age Group National Team, NCAA, and NCL experience. The Team Alberta coaches are eager to work with all summer program athletes. Women s Head Coach Women s Assistant Coach Men s Head Coach Men s Assistant Coach Team Alberta Mentor Coach Assistant Coach Teams Chaperone/manager Raine Paul Andrew Camilleri Mathieu Constantin Jared McElroy John Csikos Zach Davies Dayna Christmas Long-List Selection The talent pool for the 2018 Team Alberta program showcased the strength of Alberta athletes and clubs. The coaching staff would like to thank all athletes who tried out for the 2018 teams and as they were impressed by the coachability, work ethic, and attitudes from all tryout athletes. Congratulations to the athletes selected for the Top 20 List and Development Team. Athletes selected for the Top 20 List will face one final selection before the final 13 athlete roster is announced on June 18th. The final list will also include three alternates. Top 20
2 Athletes will participate in the Edmonton/Calgary June Training, both June Training Camps, and the Calgary Centralization. The Edmonton Training Camp will serve as one final opportunity for athletes to earn their spot on the final travel roster. Top 20 Athletes will have billeting and fundraising responsibilities (details below). Development Team Athletes have been identified by the Team Alberta coaches as athletes with great potential who we believe will benefit from the June Training. Many of these athletes displayed strong tryout performances and will be the future of the Team Alberta program. Although these athletes will not be making the travel team this summer, what a great opportunity to go through the tryout process and be exposed to the strongest U16 athletes in the province. Development Team athletes will have the opportunity to train with the Top 20 List four times a week in June, as well as participate in either the Edmonton or Calgary June Training Camps. Billeting and fundraising will be optional for these athletes Team Alberta Women s Long List Athletes Selected for the Top 20 Abby Costantino 2003 Edmonton Water Polo Club Alexandra Marissink 2002 Edmonton Water Polo Club Alia Burlock 2003 Edmonton Water Polo Club Anna Dilger 2002 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Ashley O Neil 2003 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Ava Stotz 2004 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Cassidy Thorne 2002 Edmonton Water Polo Club Devon Lynch 2004 Calgary Mako Water Polo Club Elizabeth Birch 2002 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Emilia Schorr 2003 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Emily Jardin 2003 Calgary Mako Water Polo Club Gabriella Fischer 2002 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Gabriella Vollman 2002 Edmonton Water Polo Club Genevieve Bland 2004 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Hannah Levin 2003 Calgary Mako Water Polo Club Jasmine Rosehart 2004 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Natasha Dykman 2002 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Payton Jensen 2002 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Robyn Currie 2002 Edmonton Water Polo Club Taylor Wallace 2003 Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club Athletes Selected on the Development Team: Amber Upshaw 2005 Edmonton Water Polo Club Darby Haysom 2004 Edmonton Water Polo Club Isabelle Carriere 2002 Edmonton Water Polo Club
