Protective pants made of leather or other durable material must be worn in all competition. Protective pants and jackets (in short track and TT events, shoulder pads with long-sleeve jerseys may be used in place of a jacket) must be worn for road race, dirt track, short track, speedway, and TT events. On tracks one half mile and larger, abrasion resistant outer gear is required. Abrasion resistant equals leather, Cordura, air mesh or stretch Kelvar. Reason: Update to safety standards in Track Racing meets. Proposal #54 Section 3.3; Chapter: G; Paragraph: 3; Page: The use of a maximum 17 inch rear wheel for ice race, dirt track and TT scrambles is permitted, including DTX classes. 3. The use of a maximum 17 inch wheel for ice race, dirt track and TT is permitted, including DTX classes. Reason: Clarification. Removal of the term scrambles

32 Proposal #55 - Amended Section 3.3; Chapter: H; Paragraph: 4; Page: 145 c. A steering damper may be added for safety. c. A steering damper may be added. This includes all DTX machines. Reason: Clarification. Proposal #56 - Amended Section 3.3; Chapter: H; Paragraph: 4; Page: A TT scramble is held on an unpaved, prepared course. A scramble is intended more to test a rider s skill than the motorcycle s speed. The course must be less than 2 miles long and include left and right turns. Hills, jumps and natural terrain are permitted. The course must be at least 20 feet wide and include wide turns or escape routes at the end of a fast straightaway. 3. 33 Proposal #57 Section 3.3; Chapter: H; Paragraph: 2; Page: A short track course is less than 2,250-feet in circumference. Handicap and scratch-type events may be included in a short track meet. 2. 34 Proposal #59 Section 3.6; Chapter: CC; Paragraph: 5; Page: 165 NEW 5. Verticross: Class definition: A minimum of 2 riders with a maximum of 4 riders start side-by-side. Riders compete against each other up a designated course on the hill, which is typically different than the normal hill configuration, maneuvering around course markers or through cones. The course may vary in width. a. Verticross machine must be 450cc 4-stroke or 500cc 2-stroke. b. All Verticross competitors must be at least 16 years old on the day of the event. c. All established amateur Hillclimb rules apply other than those listed here. d. Verticross is a non-timed event. The Meet Referee has the final decision on event result. If a tie is called, the event is run again. e. Verticross events do not count towards the 4-class limit. Reason: New class for Hillclimb meets Proposal #300 Section 3.10; Chapter: M; Paragraph: 5; Page: 254 NEW Modern and vintage sidecars: may not run together. Reason: Clarification

35 General Committee Proposal #62 Non-Binding Recommendation: Make the sign up / scoring software that a large percentage of tracks and clubs use should have some filters added in the sign up process. We have seen issues because tracks and clubs are not using people to sign up riders that are knowledgeable. Since its self-serve sign and a cashier. 1. If a rider is a certain age, it only allows that age group of classes for them to sign up in. 2. If a rider isn't OLD enough to race a 250, or a 450, it shouldn't allow him to sign up those classes. 3. If a rider is that age which we call AMA age 11, but he is 12. IF he signs up for 85 Jr, then he wouldn't be allowed to sign up a Super Mini or Schoolboy class. AMA STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Currently MyLaps Trackside scoring is one of the largest, most robust race scoring softwares on the market. Through our partnership with MyLaps Trackside software, our AMA Clubs and Promoters receive the software at no cost. AMA Staff will continue to work closely with our partners to develop the functionality that best supports AMA Organizers and the AMA Racing department. Motion and second to adjourn at 9:45 AM
