2 Event Overview Brian Jessel BMW in partnership with Escape Velocity and Sugoi performance apparel are proud to present the Brian Jessel BMW Last Tuesday Nighter in benefit of DEVO. This charity event is meant to signify the end of the Greater Vancouver criterium racing season by crowing the fasted criterium team (3 riders) while also raising much needed funding for youth cycling coaching, equipment and travel. 3 Schedule of events: 5:00 pm - Venue opens for team set-up 6:00 pm - 6:20 pm - DEVO youth race 6:30 pm - 7:10 pm Elite Team Women's Criterium (Teams of3) 7:20 pm - 8:20 pm Elite Team Men's Criterium (Teams of 3) 8:30 pm Awards and raffle winners Parking and arrival: Race site address: 2311 Boundary Rd, Vancouver, BC V5M 4W5 There is no team parking on the BJBMW lot the evening of the race. All athletes must check in at Registration on the South end of the lot. Suggested parking areas are highlighted below

4 All teams are provided with a team area that will be labeled with your team name. In each area you will find: - Team race packages including chips, numbers, pins, zap straps and BBQ coupons - A SWAG bag for each rider - Some bottled water - Event towels Each team should bring with them: - Bikes - Trainers or rollers x 3 - Chip mount if you prefer it to zap straps Time between races is 10 minutes which will allow rider sufficient time to preview the course but not warm-up properly; therefore, it is highly recommended that you bring rollers or a trainer to your designated team area. Finish Services & Results Race timing will use a combination of EV chip system, finish camera, and live (in-person) tracking. Results will be announced upon completion of the race and tabulation of final points. Podium ceremonies will occur following each race. All podium finishers are expected to be in attendance in clean kit. Inclement Weather The race will be held rain or shine. In the event of unsafe weather (e.g. lightning or cold/freezing conditions) on race day, race officials may delay or cancel racing. The BJBMW Last Tuesday Nighter (LTN) Rules The BJBMW LTN will take place on date and time as scheduled. There will be no extension of the BJBMW LTN past Tuesday, Sept. 12 due to unforeseen delays or prolonged stoppages. Entry fees are non-refundable. Medical problems should be reported to the medical staff on-site and to race officials. The event(s) will be run under the rules listed herein and adopt UCI rules where designated. Registration is limited to invited teams. Rider substitutions can be made up to the start with event organizer permission and consideration of the principles of fair play. ID will be required at check-in for proof of identity. All athletes must sign a waiver at the registration desk. Teams may participate with less than three riders in the case of a last-minute scratch. Equipment regulations to be enforced. The BJBMW LTN title will be awarded to the winning men s and women s team Approved helmets are mandatory anytime you are on a bike on the BJBMW lot.

5 Eligibility and field limits Athletes are registered as a team only except in the youth demonstration event. ID will be required at registration (this includes driver s license, permanent resident card). The categories are defined as: o Youth DEMO event o Elite Women (Field limit 12 teams of 3 riders each) o Elite Men (Field limit 12 teams of 3 riders each) Warm-Up/Pre-Riding the Course Warming up on the course while a race is in progress, or at any other unauthorized time, is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. Helmets must be worn AT ALL TIMES when riding the course & failure to comply will result in disqualification. Staging and Start Protocol Each team can designate one team leader for call-up. Team leaders are to be designated at the registration desk when checking in. Race Format A team points format will be used according to the following schedules. Lap totals are subject to adjustment by race officials and announcements will be made at the start as to final lap totals: The BJBMW LTN champions will be the team with the highest combined points at the end of the race. Points will be awarded in the following fashion to individual riders: POINTS SCHEDULE 1 st 2 nd 3rd 4th Intermediate sprints (10, 20, 30, etc.) Final sprint Lapping the field 20 points Being lapped by the field -10 points Scheduled number of laps for women = 60 (Estimated lap times are 35 sec.) Schedule number of laps for men = 100 (Estimated lap times are 30 sec.) Riders who are lapped one or more times or appear to be a safety concern will be pulled at the discretion of the officials. All riders being pulled or withdrawing voluntarily must leave the course through the wheel pit as quickly as possible due to the speed of the laps.

6 Primes: Primes will be awarded every 10 laps of both the men s and women s race starting at lap 5. Total prime purse for both races is currently at Equipment Regulations Only UCI legal road bikes are permitted (No disc brakes) Riders are required to wear club, team, or presenting sponsor jerseys. Each team should have three matching jerseys. Any exceptions must be approved by the race organizer. The use of glass containers is strictly prohibited. Bicycle helmets are required at ALL times when riding a bike on the BJBMW lot. Chip placement must be on the seat post. Numbers must not be folded or modified and must clearly show all advertising. Numbers must be completely visible at all times during the race. Rider number placement BJBMW Championship Jerseys and Podium A team set of BJBMW Jerseys will be provided for the winning men s and women s teams. Riders should wear cycling shorts, shoes, and team jersey for championship presentation. All riders can keep the winning jerseys and are required to wear the jerseys for a podium shot.
