The Saints were picked to finish eighth in the MAAC Preseason Poll and senior Kollyns Scarbrough was selected to the MAAC Preseason First Team. The Saints are all-time in season openers and 2-4 under head coach Ali Jaques. Siena has only faced Penn State on one occassion in program history. The Saints and Nittany Lions met in the season when they faced each other during the Preseason WNIT. Penn State was ranked 14/14 at the time and took the victory Penn State returned to the postseason last season after reaching the Women s NIT third round. The Lady Lions begin the season after losing four seniors along with All-Big Ten guard Teniya Page to start the season. Page earned All-America honors after the season. Penn State was not selected to finish in the top-three of the Big Ten according to the preseason coaches poll.
