2 STEELERS RADIO COVERAGE MEDIA NOTES WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCE Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin will conduct a press conference on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Noon (LIVE on ROOT Sports) in the Steelers press conference room at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. For the 18th consecutive year, WDVE-FM (102.5) and WBGG-AM (970) are carrying all Steelers games. Additionally, Steelers games can be heard on a 48-station network spanning Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, New York and South Carolina. 3 GREENE AND DUNGY TO THE HALL OF FAME Former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene, and safety and defensive coordinator Tony Dungy were elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016, and were enshrined on Saturday, August 6, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Greene played in 228 games over the course of 15 seasons for the Los Angeles Rams ( ), the Pittsburgh Steelers ( ), the Carolina Panthers (1996, ) and the San Francisco 49ers (1997). He was a three-time fi rst-team All-Pro (1989, 1994 and 1996) and a five-time Pro Bowler (1989, and 1998). Greene ranks third all-time in NFL history with sacks. He recorded double-digit sacks in a single season 10 times, and he led the NFL in sacks twice (1994 and 1996). He was named to the NFL s All-Decade Team of the 1990s. As a member of the Steelers, Greene recorded 35.5 sacks in three seasons. His 35.5 sacks in a three-year span are the second-most sacks in any three-year span in Steelers history. Dungy played for the Steelers from , and was a member of the team s Super Bowl XXIII team. He returned to Pittsburgh in 1981 as the team s defensive backs coach, before being elevated to defensive coordinator in At the time, he was the NFL s youngest defensive coordinator SCHEDULE NOTES The Steelers will appear in four nationally televised primetime games, including the fi rst Monday Night Football game of the NFL s 2016 regular season, and on Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh will kick off its 2016 regular season slate at the Washington Redskins in Week 1 (Sept. 12) on Monday night (ESPN, 7:10 p.m.). The Steelers will host the Kansas City Chiefs in a home primetime game at Heinz Field in Week 4 (Oct. 2) on Sunday Night Football (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). The Steelers will appear in their eighth Thanksgiving Day game in team history in Week 12 (Nov. 24) at the Indianapolis Colts (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). Pittsburgh s fourth nationally televised primetime contest occurs at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15 on Sunday Night Football, Dec. 18 (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). Pittsburgh will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 (NFL Network, 4:30 p.m.) on Dec. 25 to mark the first Christmas Day game in franchise history THROWBACKS IN WEEK DRAFT CLASS CB Artie Burns (1st round, 25th overall): Started 23-of-36 games played at Miami and fi nished his Hurricane career with 93 tackles, 14 pass breakups, seven interceptions, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery...led the Atlantic Coast Conference with six interceptions in 2015, the most by a Hurricane since 2003 (Sean Taylor, 10), en route to earning All-ACC second-team honors. S Sean Davis (2nd round, 58th overall): Started 40-of-50 games played at Maryland and fi nished his Terrapin career with 318 tackles...led the Maryland defense with 70 solo tackles in 2015 (second with 88 combined stops), to go along with fi ve forced fumbles (second in the nation) and three interceptions. DT Javon Hargrave (3rd round, 89th overall): A a two-time SBN Sports Mel Blount Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at South Carolina State in totaled 37.0 sacks, including 10.0 or more in each of his fi nal two campaigns. OT Jerald Hawkins (4th round, 123rd overall): A three-year starter on the Louisiana State offensive line, playing and starting 37 games (25 at right tackle and 12 at left tackle)...started all 11 games in 2015, helping pave the way for the SEC-leading rushing offense (256.8 yards per game). LB Tyler Matakevich (7th round, 246th overall): The Temple all-time leading tackler with 493 stops, became the fi rst school defensive player to earn first-team All-America honors and the first at any position since 1986 (Paul Palmer)...was the only player in the FBS to lead his team in tackles in every game in 2015, and became just the seventh player in NCAA history to eclipse the 100-tackle plateau in four seasons. The Steelers will wear their 1934 throwback uniforms for the team s October 9 contest vs. the New York Jets at Heinz Field. This will mark the fi fth straight season Pittsburgh will wear their 1934 throwback uniforms. The team fi rst wore these in 2012 during the team s 80th season in professional football. COLOR RUSH ON CHRISTMAS DAY Pittsburgh will debut its color rush uniforms on Christmas Day when the team hosts the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field. Steelers President Art Rooney II announced during halftime of the team s first preseason game on KDKA-TV that the team s color rush uniforms will be all black with gold numbers.

The Steelers improved to 4-3 on the season. Pittsburgh took a 7-0 lead on its opening possession, marching 76 yards on 12 plays. Roethlisberger capped off the drive with a one-yard touchdown pass to TE Leonard Pope. The Steelers increased their lead 10-0 on their next drive on K Shaun Suisham s 48-yard fi eld goal. Early in the second quarter, Washington cut the lead 10-6 when QB Robert Griffin III found WR Santana Moss for a two-yard touchdown but the Redskins extra point attempt was blocked by DE Ziggy Hood. It was the fi rst time the Steelers blocked a PAT since Midway through the second quarter, Roethlisberger connected with TE Heath Miller on a seven-yard touchdown reception to increase Pittsburgh s lead With the touchdown, Miller tied former TE Elbie Nickel (37) for the most receiving touchdowns by a tight end in team history.
