Van Atta was the head coach from before leaving to take the same position at Tennessee-Martin. The winningest coach in the history of the Montevallo women s basketball program with a overall record coaching the Falcons through his first nine seasons. Led the Falcons to all six of their 20 win seasons, including a program best 28-7 mark in the season. Guided the Falcons to five straight NAIA National Tournaments, while leading them 3 Elite Eight appearances and 2 Final Fours. Van Atta is also the winningest coach for two other programs, UT Martin and his alma mater Trevecca Nazarene. Van Atta has coached over 100 NAIA District Scholar-Athletes and 22 NAIA National Scholar-Athletes during his coaching career. Coach Van Atta reached another Career Milestone this season eclipsing 500 wins with a victory over Mississippi College on November 29th Coach Van Atta continues to etch his name in the record books as the winningest Coach in Montevallo history.
