The original scheduled kickoff time for the contest has been changed to 3:15 p.m. (CST). Fox will carry the television broadcast, including WZTV-Channel 17 in Nashville. The radio broadcast can be heard on Titans Radio flagship WKDF as well as over 80 Titans Radio affilliate stations. Additionally, this week s game can be heard nationally on Westwood One Radio. The Titans have a three-game winning streak against the Giants, dating back to This will be the first matchup between the teams since 2002, when the Titans prevailed in a memorable overtime finish at the Meadowlands. The Giants last visited Tennessee in 2000, a game the Titans won by a final score of The game will be the team s fourth of the season and second consecutive game against a team from the NFC East. Under Head Coach Jeff Fisher, the Titans have a.733 (11-4) winning percentage against teams from the NFC East, Fisher s second-best percentage against any of the eight divisions in the NFL. Earlier this year, the Titans lost to the Dallas Cowboys at home and went on the road to defeat the Washington Redskins. Last week, the Titans traveled to Philadelphia and defeated the Eagles, The Titans used a 14-yard touchdown reception by tight end Ben Troupe, a career-long 70-yard touchdown run by Travis Henry to help jump out to a 17-6 lead. Then, in the third quarter, Pacman Jones fielded a Dirk Johnson punt at the Tennessee 10-yard line. Jones cut up the middle of the field and raced 90 yards for a touchdown, breaking a 29-year-old franchise record. Billy White Shoes Johnson set the previous team record on Oct. 16, 1977 with an 87-yard punt return for a touchdown. The win gave Fisher his 100th regular season victory. He became the 32nd coach in NFL history and the 10th active coach to reach the mark. The win gave him a career overall record, including in the regular season and 5-4 in the postseason. The win also gave rookie quarterback Vince Young his third victory in seven starts. In each of his seven starts, he has accounted for at least one touchdown either rushing or passing. The Giants game will be the first of two consecutive home games for the Titans against a quarterback from the Manning family. Eli Manning leads the Giants offense, and next week the Titans try to defend Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, Eli s older brother. Through nine games, Eli is 174-of-293 for 1,972 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Prior to taking on the Titans, the Giants will play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. This week the 6-3 Giants travel to Jacksonville for a Monday night showdown with the Jaguars. Titans quarterback Steve McNair completed a touchdown pass and scored on a two-point conversion with nine seconds left in regulation to force overtime. McNair became the hero on a day he was not expected to play due to a rib injury. Trailing 3-0 in the first quarter, McNair directed an 18-play, 86-yard drive that featured two third-down conversions and two fourth-down conversions. It took 9:29 off the clock and was capped by a six-yard touchdown reception by Derrick Mason, who went on to total 12 receptions in the game. Giants quarterback Kerry Collins found tight end Dan Campbell for a one-yard touchdown and a 10-7 lead. Taking possession with 1:05 remaining in the first half, McNair led the offense on a four-play, 63-yard scoring drive, connecting on a 26-yard strike to Drew Bennett. The Giants scored on their first two possessions in the third quarter behind a Collins 24-yard touchdown to Ron Dixon and a 36-yard field goal by Matt Bryant. Running back Tiki Barber then scored to give New York a lead in the fourth quarter. However, the Titans cut their deficit to when Eddie George capped a 14-play, 72-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown. In the game, George surpassed Earl Campbell (8,574 yards) for first place on the team s all-time rushing list. TITANS-GIANTS: THE LAST MEETING Bryant kicked a 19-yarder to give New York a lead. The Giants had a first-and-goal at the one-yard line but were denied the end zone, setting the scene for one of the most memorable finishes in Titans history and a signature performance by McNair, who was unable to finish warm-ups prior to the game due to his injury. Trailing by eight points with 2:13 remaining, McNair completed four of his first five passes to put the Titans on their 46-yard line. On thirdand-10, he found Eddie Berlin on a 14-yarder and then rushed 11-yards for a first down. After completing a 20- yard pass to Bennett, he threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to tight end Frank Wycheck with nine seconds remaining in regulation and then ran in the two-point conversion to tie the game at On the team s first possession in overtime, McNair completed passes to Bennett (12), John Simon (23) and Mason (12) to set up Nedney s game-winning field goal. 3 TITANS vs. GIANTS TITANS-GIANTS SERIES HISTORY This week s game marks the ninth meeting between the Titans and Giants. The Giants hold a 5-3 advantage in the series, which dates back to Sept. 16, 1973, when the Giants defeated the Houston Oilers in the season opener at Yankee Stadium. Despite the Giants advantage in the series, the Titans, under the direction of Head Coach Jeff Fisher, have won each of the last three meetings, winning 10-6 in 1997, in 2000 and in overtime in Fisher s only loss to the Giants came on Nov. 21, 1994, his first game as a head coach after replacing Jack Pardee. The Giants won the game on a David Treadwell field goal with two seconds remaining on the clock, giving them a win at the Astrodome on Monday Night Football. The win over the Giants in 2000 was against a team that would eventually win the NFC Championship and play in Super Bowl XXXV. Steve McNair passed for three touchdowns and Eddie George rushed for 125 yards and one touchdown on 35 carries as the Titans held the ball for more than 42 minutes in the game. On a cold and windy day at the Meadowlands in 2002, McNair helped force overtime with a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion in the final seconds of regulation, and Joe Nedney sealed the win when he connected on a 38-yard field goal. George rushed for 64 yards to pass Earl Campbell as the all-time rushing leader in franchise history. This game marks the first time head coach Jeff Fisher and Giants head coach Tom Couglin have faced off since Couglin joined the Giants in The two coaches met frequently when Coughlin was with AFC rival Jacksonville, with Fisher owning a 10-7 mark, including a win in the 1999 AFC Championship game, sending the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV. LAST WEEK vs. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES Tennessee Titans 31 at Philadelphia Eagles 13 Sunday, November 19, 2006 Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pa Final Tennessee Titans Philadelphia Eagles The Titans used a 70-yard run and a 90- yard punt return to help defeat the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field (attendance 69,232). Although the Titans recorded just two first downs in the second half, allowing the Eagles to tally 91 total offensive plays in the game, the Titans limited their opponent s big-play potential and sealed the game late in the fourth quarter when Randy Starks recovered a fumble and pitched it to Keith Bulluck, who raced into the end zone for a touchdown. The Eagles played the majority of the game without starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, who injured his right knee on the second play of the second quarter. Jeff Garcia entered in relief and was 26-of-48 for 189 yards and one touchdown. The Titans took the opening kickoff and went 71 yards on six plays. The drive, which was keyed by a 43-yard run by Travis Henry, ended when quarterback Vince Young found tight end Ben Troupe in the end zone for a 14- yard touchdown pass. Later in the first quarter, after the Eagles recovered a fumble at the Tennessee 12-yard RB Travis Henry totaled 143 yards at Philadelphia, including a 70-yard TD run. line, the Eagles had a second-and-goal at the five-yard line. Brian Westbrook received a pass from McNabb and reached into the end zone. The ruling on the field was a touchdown, but a replay challenge by the Titans revealed that he was down at the one. On the next play, McNabb was intercepted by linebacker Stephen Tulloch in the end zone. The Eagles were successful on two field goals later in the half before Young led the Titans on a 15-play, 55-yard drive that ended with a 36-yard field goal by Rob Bironas as time expired in the second quarter. The Titans struck quickly to score twice in the third quarter. On Tennessee s first offensive play of the quarter, Henry took a handoff and went 70 yards for a career-long touchdown run. After a Philadelphia punt on the ensuing possession, Pacman Jones fielded the ball at the Tennessee 10-yard line. He broke tackles and raced up the middle of the field for a 90-yard touchdown to set a new franchise record for the longest punt return in team history. The touchdown gave the Titans a 24-6 lead. The Eagles managed to move the ball but at a slow pace. They scored their first touchdown on a five-yard pass from Garcia to L.J. Smith with 9:11 remaining in the game. Driving again with under a minute to play, a shotgun snap was errant, allowing Starks to recover and run 42 yards before flipping the ball to Bulluck for an additional 16 yards and a score. 4 TULLOCH PICKS A GOOD TIME: Rookie middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch intercepted the first pass of his career when he picked off Donovan McNabb in the end zone to end a first quarter drive. TITANS SCORE TDs FOUR DIFFERENT WAYS (AGAIN): For the second time this season, the Titans scored a touchdown by rushing, passing, on a fumble return and on a punt return. They also accomplished the feat Oct. 29 against Houston. Prior to that game, the last time the team found four different ways to score a touchdown in a game was Dec. 25, 2000 against Dallas, when they scored by rushing, passing, on a fumble return and on an interception return. HENRY HITS HIGH NOTE: Running back Travis Henry had two of the three longest runs of his career in the game. He had a 43-yard carry in the first quarter and set a career long with a 70-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. His previous career long was a 64-yarder on Nov. 16, 2003 vs. Houston. HENRY S 100-YARD GAME: With 143 rushing yards in the game, Travis Henry topped the 100-yard mark for the fourth time in his last six games and for the 18th time in his career. It is the second time this season that Henry has recorded back-to-back 100-yard rushing games. Henry s 7.9- yard average in the game was the highest by a Titans 100-yard rusher since Skip Hicks averaged 8.4 yards per carry on 12/16/01 vs. Green Bay. HENRY S 70-YARDER LONGEST BY TEAM SINCE 98: Travis Henry s 70-yard touchdown run was the longest run by a Titan since quarterback Steve McNair ran for a 71-yard touchdown at Tampa Bay on Nov. 8, It was the longest run by a Titans running back since Eddie George s 76- yard run at Jacksonville on Sept. 8, 1996 and the fourth-longest run by a member of the franchise since FIRST HALF DEFENSIVE SUCCESS: For the fourth time this season, the Titans did not allow an opposing team to score a touchdown in the first half. Giants special teams coach Mike Sweatman was an NOTES FROM LAST WEEK S GAME TITANS-GIANTS CONNECTIONS Kevin Gilbride TITANS vs. GIANTS PACMAN BREAKS 29-YEAR-OLD RECORD: Pacman Jones returned a punt for a franchise-record 90 yards, breaking the previous team mark of 87 yards set by by Billy White Shoes Johnson against Cleveland Oct. 16, 1977 vs. Cleveland. He scored on the return to give the team a 24-6 lead. The 90-yard return tied for the longest in the NFL thus far in 2006 (Nate Burleson, 11/12). It was his second touchdown return of the season and third of his career. YOUNG KEEPS STREAK ALIVE: Rookie QB Vince Young threw his sixth touchdown pass of the season when he connected with Ben Troupe on a 14-yard scoring pass. Young has now either thrown or run for a TD in all of his seven NFL starts. YOUNG HELPS GROUND ATTACK: Vince Young rushed for a careerhigh 49 yards on six carries, including three carries for first downs. TITANS CHALLENGE CHANGES GAME: The Titans won their second of four challenges on the season when a replay showed Brian Westbrook was down at the ½-yard line after the play initially was ruled a touchdown. Stephen Tulloch intercepted Donovan McNabb s pass on the ensuing play. FISHER NOTCHES NO. 100 IN REGULAR SEASON: Sunday s victory gave Jeff Fisher his 100th regular season win. He became the 32nd head coach in NFL history to reach the mark and the 10th active coach to do so. AHMARD HALL GETS BIG RECEPTION: In addition to his blocking for Travis Henry, fullback Ahmard Hall contributed a career-long 29-yard reception in the fourth quarter to give the Titans valuable field position. Collins set Giants records for most passing attempts in a season (568 in 2001), completions in a season (335 in 2002), passing yards in a season (4,073 in 2002), career completion percentage (58.5) and lowest career interception percentage (2.8). He ranked second in Giants annals for career completions (1,447) and placed third in career passing yards (16,875). In 2000, he started all 16 games and passed for 3,610 yards and 22 touchdowns en route to the team s NFC East title and a berth Kerry Collins in the Super Bowl against the Baltimore Ravens. In 2002, he set a Giants team record by passing for a career-high 4,073 yards and also set a career high with an 85.4 passer rating (545 attempts, 335 completions, 19 touchdowns, 14 interceptions).

5 TITANS vs. GIANTS TITANS RUSH TO IMPROVE AFTER FOUR GAMES Since opening to a record of 0-4, the Titans have battled to show considerable improvement in recent weeks. They were defeated by a narrow margin Oct. 8 at Indianapolis and followed that effort with a win on the road against the Washington Redskins and a home win against the Houston Texans. A disappointing defeat Nov. 5 at Jacksonville was followed by another one-point loss, this time a decision at home against the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens. The team then went on the road Nov. 19 to defeat the Eagles by a final score of Many of the team s statistics after the first four games reflect the Titans improvement, but nowhere is the progress more apparent than in the success of the running game. Through the first four games, the Titans averaged 70.3 rushing yards per game, ranking 30th in the NFL during that time. Since then, the Titans are accumulating rushing yards per contest, which ranks first in the NFL. The Titans have also found more unconventional ways to score since the start of Week 5. They have scored four touchdowns on returns -- two punt returns and two fumble returns. In the first four games of the season, the Titans committed 11 turnovers and had four takeaways for a minus-seven differential. Since then, the team has lost the ball six times due to turnovers while taking it away 14 times for a plus-eight differential. To provide context, there has been only one occasion since the start of the 1999 season when the Titans defense has played 80 plays in a game. They played exactly 80 plays in a win on Oct. 22, 2000 at Baltimore. The last time a team in the NFL had 91 or more offensive plays was Nov. 23, 2003, when the New England offense was on the field for 92 plays in a win at Houston. Despite the high number of snaps for the Eagles, the Titans defense limited the gains and helped the team to a win. It was the first time a team has won a game allowing 91 or more offensive plays since Dec. 8, In that game, Houston allowed 95 plays at Pittsburgh but nevertheless defeated the Steelers It was the second game this season the Titans won despite an unusual statistic working against them. On Oct. 29 against the Texans, the Titans won the game by a final score of while being out-gained by the Texans 427 yards to 197. It had been nearly 30 years since the Titans won a game in which they gave up 400 yards while gaining fewer than 200 yards on offense (12/11/77 at Cleveland). The Texans had more rushing yards than the Titans (148 to 111), more passing yards (279 to 86), more first downs (26 to 10) and controlled the ball for more than 36 minutes. However, the Titans did not turn over the ball, forced five turnovers and used four different ways to score touchdowns, enabling them to jump out to an 18-point lead and hold on for the win. In both the Texans game and the Eagles game, the Titans scored a touchdown four different ways -- rushing, passing, on a fumble return and on a punt return. Prior to this season, the last time they scored four different ways was Dec. 25, 2000 against Dallas, when they scored rushing, passing, on a fumble return and on an interception return. PLAYING THE NFC EAST Under Head Coach Jeff Fisher, the Titans are 11-4 against teams currently in the NFC East. The.733 winning percentage is the best under Fisher against any division with the exception of an 11-1 record against teams in the NFC South. Kickoff against the Colts is scheduled for noon (CST). Earlier this season, the Colts defeated the Titans by a final score at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis (10/8). The Titans nearly upset the defending AFC South Champions after leading most of the game. However, the Colts scored the game s deciding points late in the fourth quarter on a two-yard touchdown pass from Peyton Manning to wide receiver Reggie Wayne and subsequent two-point conversion. The Titans rushed for 214 yards in the game, their highest total in nearly two years (10/11/04). Travis Henry led the charge with 19 carries for 123 yards. The Colts game will be the second consecutive home game for the Titans against a quarterback from the Manning family. Eli Manning leads the Giants offense into Tennessee this week, and he will be followed by Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, Eli s older brother. Through 10 games, Peyton is 230-of-359 for 2,781 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. This week the 9-1 Colts host the Philadelphia Eagles in a Sunday Night Football matchup. 7 TITANS vs. GIANTS FLOYD REESE AND THE TITANS DRAFT SINCE 1999 Under Floyd Reese, the Titans general manager since the start of the 1994 season, the Titans have consistently built the team through the draft. Reese, the only general manager in franchise history to eclipse 100 career wins, has engineered the selection of 13 different draft classes, included among them eight future Pro Bowlers. The past three years, the Titans have chosen a combined 34 players in the draft, the highest total in the NFL during that time span. Twenty-five of those Floyd Reese players are still on the roster. Since 1999 in particular, Reese has shown an aptitude for selecting players that would remain on NFL rosters for years to come. Of the 75 players Reese drafted from , 48.0 percent (36 players) are currently on the roster. That is the third-best percentage in the NFL behind only the Cincinnati Bengals (53.1 percent) and the Baltimore Ravens (51.6 percent). 9 TITANS vs. GIANTS FISHER REACHES A PAIR OF LANDMARKS When the Titans hosted the Ravens on Nov. 12, Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher led the team for the 200th time in his head coaching career, including playoffs. No other coach in team history has reached the mark prior to Fisher, and only 26 other head coaches in NFL history have served as a head coach in 200 games. Fisher became the eighth active coach to reach 200 games. Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick should join the group later this season. Of the 27 coaches in history with 200 games, 12 of them have coached 200 games with one team. The elite group includes George Halas, Tom Landry, Don Shula, Chuck Noll, Curly Lambeau, Bud Grant, Steve Owen, Bill Cowher, Joe Gibbs, Hank Stram, Marv Levy, and now Fisher. 14 Vince Young was drafted by the Titans with the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. Young entered the NFL after a historic junior season at the University of Texas. He led the Longhorns to a National Championship while passing for 3,036 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushing for 1,050 yards and 12 touchdowns. Included in his many honors were the Maxwell Award, the Davey O Brien Award and finishing as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. In his Week 1 NFL debut against the Jets (9/10), he was 3-of-4 for 27 yards and one interception. At San Diego (9/17), he was 7-of-19 for 106 yards and his first career touchdown, an 18-yarder to wide receiver Drew Bennett. Against Dallas (10/1), he made his first NFL start. 15 O-LINE / TIGHT ENDS TITANS OFFENSIVE LINE PRODUCTION Hall of Fame offensive lineman Mike Munchak began coaching the team s offensive line in Since that time, the unit has consistently been ranked in the top 10 in fewest sacks allowed, net rushing yards and average rushing yards. In only one season (2001) since taking over as offensive line coach have the Titans finished the season not ranked in the top 10 in any of the three categories. This year the offensive line added center Kevin Mawae, a six-time Pro Bowler in his 13th NFL season. Mawae spent the last eight seasons with the New York Jets after playing his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. During his Jets career, the 6-foot-4, 289-pound center helped Jets running backs to yard games and paved the way for Curtis Martin to become the NFL's fourth all-time leading rusher. Martin eclipsed the 1,000-yard barrier in seven of the eight seasons Mawae was with the Jets. The offensive lineman with the most current experience with the Titans is right guard Benji Olson, a 6-4, 320-pound lineman in his ninth year with the team. Olson has played in more games as a member of the Titans than any other current player with the exception of punter Craig Hentrich. Jacob Bell, in his third season, has started at left guard since Zach Piller went out of the lineup with an ankle injury. He started the season at right tackle. In 2004, he started 14 games at left guard in place of Piller. The starters on the outside are Michael Roos and David Stewart. The former third-round draft choice from Florida State started his final 32 regular season games at free safety for the Steelers, including every game in the team's run to Super Bowl XL. He established a career high in his final season in Pittsburgh with three interceptions and tied his previous career high with 97 tackles, which ranked fourth on the team. 21 OFFENSE / CAREER STATS OFFENSIVE ANALYSIS Offensive Coordinator: Norm Chow -- 2nd NFL Season, 2nd with Titans In 2005, the Titans offense ranked 17th overall in the NFL under first-year coordinator Norm Chow. The team was ranked ninth in the league in passing. In 2006, Chow primarily will direct two quarterbacks at two different stages of their careers. Vince Young, the third-overall draft choice who Norm Chow led the University of Texas to a National Championship in 2005 with his magnificent combination of passing and running ability, is now the Titans starter after taking over the job in Week 4. He is joined by veteran Kerry Collins, who enters 2006 ranked third among active quarterbacks in passing yards. He has played with four teams in 11 previous seasons (Carolina, New Orleans, NY Giants, Oakland). The team has a stable of talented running backs, with incumbents Chris Brown and Travis Henry joined by second-round draft selection LenDale White. Brown has led the team in rushing in each of the previous two seasons. Henry, acquired in 2005 in a trade with the Buffalo Bills, is the senior-most member of the group and has more than 4,000 career rushing yards to go along with a Pro Bowl selection. White, a two-time National Champion from USC, set the school s all-time rushing touchdown record last season. Undrafted rookie Ahmard Hall (Texas) serves as the team s fullback. The Titans tight ends group in 2005 was one of the most prolific in NFL history, combining for 149 receptions, second in NFL history for a group of tight ends. The most productive members of that group returned in starters Erron Kinney and Ben Troupe, along with second-year player Bo Scaife. However, Kinney was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 13. Casey Cramer was claimed off waivers at the end of the 2006 preseason, and third-year tight end Ben Hartsock was claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts prior to the seventh game of the season. Starting wide receiver Drew Bennett, the ninth-leading receiver in franchise history, was joined at the start of the season in the lineup by former New England Patriot David Givens, one of the team s major acquisitions in free agency. However, Givens was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury after the ninth game of the season. Other members of the deep group include Brandon Jones, Courtney Roby and Roydell Williams, all of whom were drafted in 2005 and each posted 21 or more receptions as rookies; Bobby Wade, a late 2005 waiver wire pick-up from Chicago who also is in his fourth season; and Jonathan Orr, a sixth-round draft pick out of Wisconsin. Only one member of the offensive line is playing in the same spot where he played in Ninth-year veteran Benji Olson has started all but one game at right guard since the start of the 1999 season. The starting left guard at the beginning of the season, Zach Piller, suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the third game of the season. Third-year lineman Jacob Bell is now in that spot. Kevin Mawae, a 13-year veteran and six-time Pro Bowler, was signed in the offseason to provide stability to the line at center. Second-year tackle Michael Roos moved to left tackle after starting 15 games at right tackle in At right tackle is David Stewart, now in his second season. 22 DEFENSIVE ANALYSIS DEFENSE / CAREER STATS Defensive Coordinator: Jim Schwartz -- 14th NFL Season, 8th with Titans (6th as coordinator) In 2005, the Titans defense ranked 19th overall in the NFL under coordinator Jim Schwartz, who directed one of the youngest defenses in the NFL, including two rookie starters at cornerback. The defensive starters averaged 3.5 years of experience but still had top-10 finishes in third down defense (35.5%), sacks (41) and three-andouts (31.3%). Jim Schwartz Pacman Jones and Reynaldo Hill, first- and seventh-round draft choices in 2005, respectively, earned starting roles at cornerback, making them only the second rookie duo in team history to become regular starters at the position. They are joined this season by seventh-round draft pick Cortland Finnegan (Samford), who is set to contribute as a nickel back; fourth-year cornerback Andre Woolfolk; and Eric King, who in his second season was claimed off waivers from Buffalo. Michael Waddell is on the reserve/non-football injury list. At safety, Lamont Thompson has started each of the past two seasons at free safety and will continue his role there in his fifth NFL season. He is joined at strong safety by former Pittsburgh Steeler Chris Hope, a key signing in free agency in 2006 with two years of starting experience. Thompson and Hope will be backed up by fourth-year veteran Donnie Nickey, fourth-round draft choice Calvin Lowry and second-year player Vincent Fuller. One of the team s biggest additions via free agency was to the linebacking corps. Fifth-year linebacker David Thornton was signed from the Indianapolis Colts to step into the left outside linebacker position. He will play opposite Keith Bulluck, who plays at right outside linebacker and has led the team in tackles each of the past four seasons. Peter Sirmon, a starter at left outside linebacker since 2002, moves to middle linebacker in Fourth-round draft choice Stephen Tulloch (N.C. State) is a middle linebacker that also sees action on special teams. In his third season, Colby Bockwoldt was claimed off waivers from New Orleans, where he started every game in Prior to the 10th game of the season, the Titans signed sixth-year linebacker LeVar Woods, who has previous experience with the Cardinals and Lions. Ken Amato serves primarily as the team s long snapper. Third-year linebacker Robert Reynolds was placed on injured reserve after eight games. At left defensive end, Kyle Vanden Bosch was re-signed in 2006 after being selected to his first Pro Bowl in He was fourth in the NFL in 2005 with 12.5 sacks. Travis LaBoy and Antwan Odom shared starting duties on the right side in 2005, and both return for their third seasons. Second-year end Josh Savage was claimed off waivers prior to the season from the Atlanta Falcons. Former San Diego Charger DeQuincy Scott, in his fifth NFL season, was signed prior to the seventh game of the season. The starting defensive tackle duo for the previous two seasons, Albert Haynesworth and Randy Starks, is back again in Haynesworth has more games and starts than any other member of the defensive line. Starks has valuable experience but is still one of the youngest members of the team at 22 years old. Prior to the start of the season, the Titans welcomed back former teammate Robaire Smith, who spent the previous two seasons with Houston after playing his first four seasons in Tennessee. Jesse Mahelona, a fifth-round draft choice from Tennessee, provides depth at the position, as does Tony Brown, a second-year player who was signed prior to the fifth game of the season. Three different Titans contributed to seven total punt returns of 20 or more yards to lead the league. The Titans entered 2006 with the same kicking and punting duo they had in At kicker, Rob Bironas enters his second NFL season. In his first year, he led the team with 99 total points. He connected on 23 field goals in 29 attempts (79.3%) and was 30-of-32 on extra point attempts. He also tied for seventh in the league with 11 touchbacks on kickoffs. At punter, two-time Pro Bowler Craig Hentrich is in his 13th NFL season and ninth year with the Titans. Since 1976, when the NFL began tracking net punting averages, Hentrich s net average ranks second in the league. The Titans field a talented group of returners. In 2005, Pacman Jones was fourth in the NFL and third among rookies with a 26.2-yard average on kickoff returns. He led all rookies and was 10th in the NFL with a 9.4-yard punt return average, including one return for a touchdown. Newcomer Bobby Wade was claimed late in 2005 off waivers from Chicago. He gained extensive experience as a punt returner in three seasons with the Bears and also returns kickoffs. Second-year receiver Courtney Roby also showed promise as a kickoff returner with a 22.5-yard average. Rookie Cortland Finnegan is a reserve punt returner.
